Love is first accepting, respecting, and caring for yourself as an individual, and in turn reflecting all of that on to the people around you.

My whole life I have had what I like to think of as an entrepreneur spirit. My first enterprise was the babysitting business which I did from the age of 11 to 17. I later moved on to making and selling hemp jewelry. In college I continued to sell the jewelry, but added recording demo albums for poor local bands to my list of side work. I have had to quit the hemp thing because of joint pain, but have added mobile DJing, photography, and graphice design to the list a several years back.
I have been trying for the last year and a half to support myself by working for myself, but I have hit a dead end. I have not given up, but I am not making it enough to support myself and my soon to be 12 year old son. I am faced with the choice that lots of us unfortunately are, which is to have to find so crap job to pay the bills and budget all my free time into art and my side projects. I am not going to let it defeat me, but I am a little pissed about having to go back to that.
Anyway, the reason for the cameo REmix is because recently I bid on some wholesale jewelry making supplies on ebay. I wanted to design some jewelry for myself because I collect cameos. I bid on items from the US, UK, and China. I used the extra to design more jewelry to sell for exrat income. This is my little poster I designed. I took the pricing and info off because I am not trying to sell it here on HR. I just wanted to tell my little story and dream of being my own boss. Also because designing the jewelry was like doing a remix. Taking different pieces and putting them together.

I was given this giraffe, who's name is also Giraffe, when I had my second surgery at age two. I was born with what the doctor thought to be a paralyzed muscle in my right eye. Because of this I am blind in that eye. It was only after my first surgery where my right eye was removed to try to repair it, that the doctor discovered that there was practically no muscle to repair. I was scheduled for another surgery the following year where they removed both of my eyes and took part of the same muscle from my left eye and put it in the right. This surgery was unsuccessful and did not help the vision in my right eye. The second surgery was one of my earliest memories and so was Giraffe.
I developed a fear of doctors from the surgery and Giraffe made me feel safe when I went to any doctor appointments. I always gripped him by the neck and squeezed tightly. One day when I was four I had a doctor appointment and I went to get Giraffe only to find his neck was broken. It wasn't ripped off, but it slumped over and I couldn't fix it. My pediatrician Dr Jones noticed I was upset and the condition Giraffe was in. He told me he was going to heal him. He took him from me and gave him a cast with surgical tape. His neck stood up! He was healed! From that moment on my fear of doctors lessened.
