I haven't been around much this week, but I still found 10 amazing records to re-recommend...
This week beautiful drawings by mirtle, cat-cat, moonbug and cacheth caught my eye. fractaldust made this awesome cosmic heaven, which makes for a great background for REmixing... I love Elayne's interpretation of metaphorest's poem and mirtle's all eyes open drawings. Which brings me to tonguecutsparrow's beautiful song based on the same poem and drawings. Bloemday made this perfect and touching REmix with one of her old postcards. Eskapurla made this great stop motion video that will be a great REsource for future REmixing. I also want to mention joerud who made a song based on a poem I wrote. I like his voice and the music goes well with the lyrics.
As soon as I read Sarah's poem, I immediately had this sound in my head. I hope it does both her words and Mirtle's story justice.
I'd love to see it grow...
Inspired by yes-you-am's cool logo animation I decided to try my hand at stop motion and hand stitched the hitrecord logo.
A nicely written poem by belcath1981 that I immediately wanted to sing and play. I did it very quickly and simply. Hopefully it could be the grounds for a collaboration. Thank you belcath1981 for this profound poem.
The place where I was born is not my home,
Ever since I was a little girl I felt the need to roam.
Here is not where I want to be,
This place takes the happy right out of me.
Though here is where I came to exist,
It's another place I've always missed.
Since I met you somewhere far away,
I think about leaving every day.
That song we love playing in my ears,
Brings my eyes to tears.
That movie we always watch,
Makes me miss you so much.
I long to be with you in that other place,
I close my eyes and see your smiling face.
I can't wait to see what life has in store,
Because I'm homesick for a place I've never lived before...
You know how you see all those character posters/banners at cinemas promoting upcoming movies? Here is my take on a MMM2 version of those, inspired by the poster of "Horrible Bosses" ...and I just want an excuse to slap those fantastic words from the MMM universe onto the drawings
The drawings were actually done for another purpose, but one day when I was walking home I saw a double decker bus with the "Horrible Bosses" banner on it and I just thought it would be fun to have something similar for the MMM flims~
