This is just a first draft-I know people are still putting up videos. I REALLY want to have people talking about their RECollections, but it's hard with music in the videos-so if you guys could upload versions without music, I would love you forever. Also, there were a few videos that I couldn't get to work with my computer, and I wasn't able to change the format of, so I couldn't use them. I'll do more drafts of this as more people upload their footage. 

One last request-I'd REALLY love to have everyone holding up their RECollections and saying "again by heart." If not, that's cool, but it was just an idea I had.

A brief note:I had been debating whether or not to get a record player for the longest time. Would I invest wisely in this? Would I keep buying records? I just didn't know. And then HitRECord had this littlebig special offer for those who pre-ordered RECollection which seemed to push me in the right direction. I regret nothing and I am so happy/proud/all of these great feelings about this book and this record. I am now sitting happily with a bunch of records (including this new one :D). I also have a shiny new RECord button (my first one) and a really, really amazing book.

Got my copy yesterday but I was too busy to post the pic. I know I'm not that big and none of my RECords have really been featured or noticed but I wanted to buy the RECOLLECTION because it's really cool. It's great to be apart of such a talented community. Hopefully for future projects, some of my work can be featured!

This is my first video REmix. Heck, this might be the first time I've ever really used iMovie.

I've been playing around with this for a week, trying to get to a point where I'm happy with it, and then tonight I heard ozie's beautiful piano piece, added it and decided to upload what I've got.

ETA: I made a few changes to the transitions between the footage, but most of the video remains unchanged. Check it out!

Today I received my copy of RECollections and I decided to record the experience. 

It was a great ending to a bad day getting my copy of RECollection in the mail. I noticed that i was holding everything upsidedown and backwards, but i can't reopen it so here we go. After I taped this my son and I read the book, watched the DVD and listened to both the CD and vinyl. It really is a wonder to behold. it added so much value to my experience seeing the names of RECorders I have had the pleasure of meeting on hitRECord recently. I think that everybody, but new RECorders especially can really see that being part of something like this is not impossible. You don't have to be rich or famous, you just have to be yourself.

my voice is a little annoying, the AC is loud, the cats get in the way, I had to fast forward some of it so it wasn't too long, I act like a dork, and I cry toward the end, so yeah, um, enjoy. XD <3

Here's my opening of the most utmost amazing thing ever.  SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!! It does not encode sadly that may be a problem with my computer, but hey that's what the dowwnload button is for. I get very emotional, but it's all in the spirit of my overflowing happiness. Congrats to everyone!

Today wasn't a good day for me. Not in the slightest. I drove from my new apartment in Philadelphia back to my hometown, Falls Church, VA. Normally this isn't an issue. Tonight however, I watched my parents sign a contract selling their house. My childhood house. Since it was new in 1949 we are the only family that has lived within these walls. 

After all of this hurricane Irene madness the east coast had another tropical storm of sorts roll through and it rained for about a week straight (at least it did in Northern Virginia). It was THIS intense amount of rain that flooded the basement of the house almost 5 feet high. Everything is ruined. Water heater, furnace, washer, dryer, amongst countless other things in boxes and on shelves that we still have yet to go through. The thought of going to visit my parents and not coming 'home' makes my stomach turn. I knew it was only a matter of time, after all I have officially moved away from home. But still, I was not expecting it to happen this quickly under these circumstances. 

But I digress...

Now I am not trying to make this a pitty party because, frankly, that is lame. As I was leaving my apartment I noticed a package on the floor in the vestibule. The 'Are we RECording?' on the envelope flashed at me like a beacon and I knew it was for me. Not having time to open it then and there I grabbed it, threw it in my car and went on my way. I forgot about it until I came home and took my things to my room then forgot about it again once all of the flood drama continued. It is now, after midnight and I have just gone through RECollection in it's entirety. Guys, this shit is fucking beautiful. Absolutely amazing. I cannot be more proud to be a part of this community. I have the most ridiculous smile on my face right now. This is the only thing that has brought me such complete and utter joy today...hell more like this past week and a half. I am beyond excited just thinking about all of the incredible things yet to be created. It's just...so good! (It also didn't hurt to see my wee little name credited a couple of times.) Anyway, A+ if you are still reading this. Just wanted to say thank you for this piece of art. It is truly fantastic. Thank you for making me smile so much my fucking face hurts.

Beyond delighted that we got this in the mail yesterday. So proud of all you HitRECorders, doing big thangs <3 Had a great time giving this to my mom, she loves it, oh and sorry for the loud laughter! haha 

i actually got this on my way to school haha, my dad said that it was a package for me, but since i didnt exactly have the time to stop and open it i ended up taking it with me to school

Robo_J and I got our RECollections (I highly RECommend having a hitRECord roommate) and I took a picture of him as he held it up in the light.

I just recently moved into a dorm and haven't been able to release any records. I was soo excited when I got this in the mail. The beginning is me opening it, but my roommate was in the room, so I recorded the rest this morning. 

This came out a little bit too PSA-ish.

Today is my birthday so I decided to give you all footage of me opening my birthday present to myself, the RECollection book. :) 

The day it arrived was so hectic and long, seeing the package really raised my spirits as soon as I saw it. 

I'm silent the entire time only because my roommate was doing work in the background. :x

I recorded opening my copy of RECollection Vol. 1 and the Nothing Big Record. I sped up the footage about 200% but it's still slow enough for remixing.

Usually, I hate mondays. This one was an exception.

My (rather lengthy) review of the RECollection (plus a few rambles about my special button and a dream I had last night).

I got an email last Friday telling me my RECollection has shipped so I didn't expect it to arrive until early next week (as things usually take a week to make their way across the pond).  So imagine my surprise and delight when I got home from work this afternoon and found this little parcel sitting behind my flat's door *dances around happily* 

MY GOD THIS THING IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, well done to everyone!  This little beauty is now sitting together with my beloved collection of artbooks <3

I was working on a project by my piano and decided to take a few shots of my "nothing big" vinyl. I didn't have a lot of footage to work with so it's not cut to the music very well, I'm mostly just uploading this for anyone that could use bits and pieces in a RECollection video.

I swear RECollection is made for my living room. Or my living room is made for RECollection. Match made in heaven!

PS: RECollection has made it down under!

My copy of RECollection arrived last Monday but I wasn't able to hold it in my arms until Friday.

When I ordered RECollection I was so excited that I completely forgot to put in my address at school and ended up putting in my home address.... 140 miles away from my school. So Friday afternoon I made the trek home to get my RECollection. I'm slightly poorer because of the gas money but it was totally worth it.

I am soo proud of everyone!

However...my RECollection vol. 1 came without a DVD or CD. Any way to remedy this?? D:

RECollection arrived at my house in Australia last night and I was thrilled to bits! I can't stop hugging it - yes, HUGGING it - and my cheeks hurt from this maniacal grinning.

I was so excited when my copy of RECollection (with the free red vinyl) came in that I literally skipped from the mailbox to my car with this stupid grin on my face.

Here's my dorky self opening my shiny new RECollection. This is mostly for the lovely fabulouslyfreckled.

I wanted to give a big shoutout to all the hitrecorders who are featured in the first recollection!  I finally got mine after a failed delivery attempt on Monday and my roommate not giving me the delivery note from the mailman until Tuesday, I had to wait until Wednesday after work to finally travel to the post office to pick it up! Yay.

It now has a special place on my bookshelf.

RECollection CD Review from my car.  A little nervous and lacking energy because I recorded this in the morning before running errands xP  I promised a little quickie review but it turned out to be 4 minutes (eeks! sorry guys). 

Was watching my RECollection Vol. 1 DVD outdoors with my pup, and loved the way the reflections played with the images on screen...

The RECollection has finally arrived! It's so pretty! Video record will follow shortly ;)

This is just a quick video of me pulling it out of the care package my parents sent me. They didn't send me the entire package that the lovely RECollection came in because they didn't see the point in shipping vinyl to me when I have no record player here. The life of a college student.

I got back home after some time away to find the most brilliant package sitting on the doorstep! Needless to say, no work was done until I had read it cover to cover, listened to all the songs and watched everything on the DVD. And I really, actually did empty my bank account to buy this. TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY :D

i immediately browsed the book and listened to the CD while working.  it really put me in a good mood, coz i usually look like this x_0 while at work hahaha!  actually i'm still listening to the CD right now while posting and it's late.  

coincidentally, i was wearing this red-blue-black-white top with red circles.  hitRECord and I were meant to be.  lol.

I came home from badminton training today and guess what I found in the mailbox! I was so excited, and decided to draw this :)

This is a part-record, part-request. This is part of something I’m working on but I thought it would be lovely if we could have a vid remix of RECollection going to different parts of the world, being pictured against famous landmarks/airports/backdrops. It’s almost as if it’s a character, travelling around the world bringing joy to various people, hitrecorders and non-hitrecorders alike! I’m hoping to do a vid with this, so vid, picture and voiceover records (e.g. saying ‘hi’ from ‘X’ country, maybe talking about how RECollection as a character has made an impression on you on its travels!) would be very much appreciated :)

PS: Also, if you have ideas on how to develop this further, chime right in!

wow... let me tell you about my last few days: I got sick and still am, university was being bitchy, and on october 25 I noticed I STILL hadn't gotten my RECollection although I had ordered it on august 4. sooo, I started asking people about it, even wrote an email to the RECord store asking what was going on...

... and today, after the police nearly hadn't allowed me back into my flat because of the world war two bomb that had been found only a few hundred meters away, I arrive at my door, and see a bright white light... coming from my RECollection package!

of course, I wanted to open it right away, but then my boyfriend called, and then my parents, and then something else came up, and my package was patiently waiting to be opened. I didn't think I could restrain myself, but I did manage to shoot some pictures before I opened it and BOY is it beautiful.

wow. I know hitRECorders are awesome, but this is a new stage of awesomeness. I love love love it, and I'm going to read/listen to/watch it all over again after I've done my homework for tomorrow. or maybe before that. wow.
