so I don't lose and forget records I want to be a part of.
I re-recorded this. If anyone wants to add violin/cello/harmonica/strings/harmony/slide/mandolin... Not all of those of course but if anyone feels like they want to add anything I would love to hear it.
We heard Nothing Big and read the lyrics and figured we'd sit down and have a go and see what we could come up with. Hope you all like our REmix of Joe's 'Nothing Big'

Would be awesome to hear vocals and/or instrumentation added to these chords of mine.
HERES AN ACAPELLA OF A SONG I DID WITH AWOL ONE OF THE WORLD FAMOUS SHAPESHIFTERS(LA). I'M PUTTING THIS UP AS A COLLAB TO SEE HOW CREATIVE PEOPLE CAN GET WITH IT .IF YOUR FEELING IT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PUT YOUR SPIN ON IT. LETS BUILD
this an acapella from my latest album " just another face in the crowd" if you fell it , feel free to get creative with it . peace evolve
Needs: more guitar; howling feedback; drums; percussion; more vocals; maybe brass; maybe strings; anything that makes noise.
Powder blue eyes salt water lies you've tried everything but nothing's going right
Heavy hands and empty head Should've thought before you said
Black eye, split lip land locked, seasick Listen to the lock click Waiting for the morning to come
Remember what your did when they caught you crying?
Didn't know what to say They just left you there and walked away
Say you love me Tell me lies Cross your heart and hope to die Soon all the ghosts of what you've done wrong will rise.
So Chelsea.e Recorded this awesome cheer stomp beat thingy and I put a couple of layers of guitar and bass over it. It's kind of raw and in your face. Plenty of room for remixing if you like it.
Please add other instrumentation if you're interested.
I found an old beat by BenWiley4000 and sang over it. I'd love if someone/several folk took this very bare track and made it fuller/cooler/everything-er!
My weapon is hidden on me
My bullets will pierce your blackened words
You’ll be sorry you spoke, sir
Revenge is not what I’m after
I want to illuminate is all
I am happy to let you fall
Don’t mistake me
For another fool
You can’t make me
Believe you
My melodies sing your sorrows
Just wait till tomorrow finds you limp
Oh your chances are slim, slim
And on your death bed, will you wonder?
Which of your offences stings the most
Are you scared of your own ghost?
Don’t mistake me
For another fool
You can’t make me
Believe you
and throw away the clocks
Sorry for the title. I know it's dumb but I just don't know what else to call it or how to describe but just as an epic instumental rock song.
Made this a while back with a guitar and a bow, hopefully someone can remix this and put it to better use.
Here is something a bit different from what I usually upload on HR. This track was co-produced, mixed, and mastered by the good friend Jean-Gabrielle Hajjar http://soundcloud.com/thesilex/ - check out his work.
A song based on some of the submissions to the "Bad Advice" collaboration. Apologies for the 2 minutes of nothing at the end, my Garageband seems to insist on it nowadays no matter how much I try to remove it!
I would love to make this a little longer....if RyanPatrick wants to extend his kick ass instrumental!
Lyrics:
All my life it's been a question of what ifs
Whys hows, what abouts
I'm so sick and tired of bad advice
And I've been waiting on a moment to right
All my wrongs
For
The little good that's left in me
And so I've begun
With throwing out the rulebook
And now I see
The good stay young until they die
Because they're too busy living to watch time fly
And whether I do it all or just something
I know I can do anything
Take 2 steps forward and no steps back
This is no time to doubt your attack
On an ancient system
make them listen
You've been given a voice now shout
Cos a penny saved is still a penny
But with a hundred dollar bill you can do plenty
So fill your coffers
With tempting offers
Until you find the one you seek
So I made this little song for something I'm doing off site so I'm not going to upload my vocals but I thought it would be fun to see if someone else could put their own vocals and lyrics to this. Pammy did a great job with the last instrumental I uploaded so maybe we can recreate that magic.
Anyone wanna take a crack at this?
The chords are G, C, E, Am and I have a capo on the 4th fret
Remix!
oh hi there. i hope this one decided to work :)
This is more of a theme than anything else. It's clear that Sigur Ros inspires me a lot. Could y'all use this in anything? :)
Just a simple Apple loop [a bit repetitive, I know] and some vocals and clicking...going back to my more jazzy roots on this, but this is the first sort of vibe I heard when I read this tiny story!
Lyrics:
Honey,
Sweet, sweet honey,
Lingering dark and strong
Honey
Sweet, sweet honey,
Come back to where you belong
Your perfume's under my skin
Stuck like your lips on the teacup rim
Honey,
Sweet, sweet honey,
Don't leave me with regrets
And an empty home
I can see you dark, taste you sweet
Sweet in the sun
And the scent of you is haunting me
Now that you're long gone
'Hands' is distorted percussion loop originally arranged in FL Studios at 60bpm.
It's not easy to give this baby up but I've never be able to move forward with the track. I can't come up with a melody to sing with it, let alone find anything else that matches it's raw, intense sound.
THE STORY: This last summer, I worked myself to the point where my entire mind, body and spirit were breaking down. My hands broke out in open sores. Doctors told me I almost killed myself to fulfill my passion for filmmaking. Thankfully, my hands did eventually heal.
They were as raw & rough as this track sounds. Now let's see if you wanna take on the challenge of trying to enhance it into a song!
Written for her character.
Thought this could be quite remixable. 66 BPM.
My sceptre is a sharpened tongue
My battle plan is 'play dumb'
My allegiance is to the god of one
No nation claims me
no flag or gun
In the trenches defenseless you’re grasping at mud
Shake it off
Take it off
Clawing down castles of sand, you’re no good
Shake it off
Take it off
My human kindness is a serpent’s kiss
My lesson is this
No man is a monster, no man a god
Smile and nod
Smile and nod
Just another Electric Synth guitar sample for someone to mess around with
So this beat needs drums and bass...it also needs to be remixed in anyway you see fit. I would like to ultimately see two different versions of this piece, one of which being a more somber, melodic orchestral piece, the other being an upbeat dance mix. I would like to see some really nice vocals on this.
I like to post just a few instruments and give a slight structure to get your HitRECorder minds racing. I've been having a lot of fun just messing with different sounds and structures.
Here are the Stems if interested...

This one is also different. Just for fun :)
I'd love to see if anyone could add anything to this cause I feel like it's not complete.
I'm baaaaack! For this week's improv, when I read "stranger" I immediately pictured the grim reaper. Maybe because the death god in the ASOIAF books is called The Stranger. Or because I've been watching a lot of Supernatural lately. I dunno. But it is what it is. Also, this one's sloppier than Cold, but that kind of works, right? Because, if death was approaching, your thoughts wouldn't exactly be orderly, right?? RIGHT??
Drop a letter down Stairs of alabaster
Wrap some newspaper Around your heart strings
To keep the sound in
Is anybody listening?
Give yourself space In boxes set on curb side streets
Shy away from the neighbors and Oh god the strangers, can it wait
You wait
Count down days in chronicles You wince at doors
As they close There they go
These rooms are empty
But these walls won’t stop talking
Can’t escape the memories
Up there with the funniest thing is
Can’t tell that you left from here
It’s raging cold But it’s alright
Is anybody home?
Down stairs hear the radio play
In a dark room locked inside away
From the truth of how you died
Is anybody listening?
“You can’t save her”
Is anybody home?
So I came across a particular loop put down by tonguecutsparrow. As soon as I heard it, I HAD to put a guitar part on top of it. I added a little hi hat for accent. I hope you like it!
((Also, I got the original tune from the "RE: Loops collaboration", so I might as well contribute it right back!))
This was credits music for a movie I did, but we decided to use something else. Hope you can find some use for this little guy :)
had some fun with bell's vocals.
tried different things to put on top of the drums n bass but couldn't find anything that worked.
can you?
maybe some surf guitar style. chord stabs and spring-reverb awesomeness.
HAVE AT IT DAMNIT
Let's write some Rock music, shall we!
Tempo: 90 Bpm.
*Don't mind the mix!
Here's a pretty chill track I made. Could definitely use some sexy vocals.
sorry its so late. ive just moved to uni, so...meow! (and also. sorry for 9 minutes. it'll flyyy.
yeah, also, i hope you dont mind how opinionated i am.
Bell
Tried to match the intensity in your vocal on this mix! Did some things F/X-wise, too.
Let me know if you like where it's headed!
*Please, Mind the Mix!; )
My friend Ryan Osterman added guitars last night! Sounds awesome, this version is mixed better as well :)
Lyrics:
Come all Come all In joy we unite we dance we run we sing Fire show us what it is we must seek Come all Come all A spectacle for all who want to see Show us your fangs your feathers were all the same We are free We are free
Here's a Remix to I_Am_1954's 'refreshing' tiny tune - Inside/Outside (Green).
To be honest, I wasn't so sure what I was doing during the early stage of this illustration but I'm glad it turned out to be what I had in mind at the end :)
Now, I wish someone will just animate this.
Important note to anyone who's interested to create similar concept: use 'pen pressure' settings for your brush and paint to your heart's desire, remember to vary your brush size though.

So this track could use a few things
Bass
Drums and or percussion
Lyrics and vocals
Download it and add something to it. Simple as that.
I wrote this song last year for this E.P. I came out with but decided to upload just the instrumental track and see what other people could do with it because I really like the instrumental part of this song but was never really happy with the vocals I did. Enjoy and happy remixing.
:)
Made this, not really my thing, so I'll leave it here for whoever wants to do whatever to it. IF anything...
Thanks so much for asking me to sing this beautiful song joerud! I still like your version better :)
(I couldn't quite hit those low notes so apologies for the change of tune in places!)
Hello Sarah!
I know there's no official need to give you a gift, but I wrote this song with your voice in mind. So the gift is really a request/"challenge". To sing it instead of me (it's a bit high for me :D )
You obviously don't have an obligation to undertake the task. But I'm sure it will sound 10 times as good with your voice.
So enjoy it, and play around with it. The stems are in the results section. So just scrap my voice and go for it. Any questions, comment!
And Merry Christmas Metaphorest!
Lyrics:
When I know that I've had enough, And my shoes are slipping off, It's a day I could never seem to get quite right, And I know I saw it coming, I know I saw it coming,
I never have fun on New Years, I never have fun on New Years, I never have any fun on New Years, It'll only get worse when you appear,
Forget the city forget the lights, Forget the boys in navy tights, Forget the love I loved and lost, I know its unbecoming, And I know you're never coming, I never have fun on New Years, I never have fun on New Years, I never have any fun on New Years, It'll only get worse when you appear.
Here is a reading for the Snow Collaboration of Shattered Moonbeams, wonderfully written by bellaarts.
Being a hip-hop dancer, I like making beats that I know would be smooth to dance on, especially with a complimenting rap to go with it. At some point, I may write to this beat myself but for now, if someone else would like to take a go at it, I would be very pleased. All the Best.

There is a distinct pleasure that accompanies the discovery of a word. It need not be a new word to feel new to you; just an unknown quanitity introduced to your vocabulary. Sounds and meanings ... |

BRASS/HORN PLAYERS
PERCUSSIONISTS
we need your help to polish up and create this speical REmix of Beat 714!
Song info:
neighborhood of F minor with a tempo of 93bpm
the main chord progression is based around a descending F minor pentatonic riff:
4/4 |: F minor | C minor | A-flat (Major) | Fm - Cm :|
there's a little turnaround that leads back to the main progression, which is in C minor throughout
the breakdown is all F (no major/minor, but it leans on a major)
here's the format according to the time duration of the track:
0:00 - 0:10 drum intro
-
0:10 - 0:20 main riff (1 time through)
-
0:20 - 0:50 verse 1
-
0:50 - 0:56 turnaround
-
0:56 - 1:16 chorus (2 times)
-
1:16 - 1:56 verse 2
-
1:56 - 2:01 turnaround
-
2:01 - 2:43 breakdown*
-
2:43 - 3:22 chorus (4 times)**
-
3:22 - 3:27 turnaround
-
3:27 - 4:07 chorus (4 times)**
-
4:07 - 4:12 turnaround
-
4:12 - END (first measure of breakdown***)
*HORNS: solo here. start nice and slow and intensify as the guitar/bass play more.
**lead instruments solo through all 4 measures. let loose
***be awesome if all instruments hit this together.
RECord your contribution and you can upload what you got with the beat, but also upload your isolated stem without the Beat 714 backing so I can mix you into the final version.
Thanks again <3
