I told my friends I wanted to love a girl who was literary,
She's into environmentally-conscious fashion... :)
Longray all dressed up for the fall formal. She's just the beginning of the picture but I just couldn't wait to RECord
(1:29 - spinning/moving clips - Bare through the first 15 sec)
When listening to Johnnyclyde's song called "Dreams of Trees" aka Shadow Song... I couldn't help but imagine spinning scenes. So I was inspired to make a video. All clips are used from members off this site (two are mine). Not too shabby for a first vid :) Thank you for all the beautiful shots and music. Use this in any way you would like!
1) Spin me right round - by cerebris 2) View from car's sun roof - mine 3) The Spinning Girl - by mkinchloe 4) Beautiful Mess, Pinwheels - by steviestars3 5) Rollarcoaster - by jehuGarcia 6) Spinning - by johnnarock 7) View from tree - mine 8) Swingset in rain - nontoxiccolors
Music: "Shadow Song" by Johnnyclyde
Et voilà, mes chéris....Imagined during economics class, composed with a high amount of tea in my veins. Again by heart <3
No laughs today but I smile anyway, there is a joy in my heart that I'm feeling.
A little blue today I guess that time of year just worrying again about the future.
Well, I'm form Argentina, and this photo is the most important amusement park (or fair, I don't know how you call it) , which is placed next to the river. I took it with an analog camera from a boat across the river. Hope you like it

I love all the contributions to this collaboration - especially the public domain footage, so I wanted to have a go remixing it all together. I don't think it's necessarily fully-formed (is a RECord ever?) but I thought it might work as a base or inspiration for other people making theirs.
Women wise in the ways of wolves
Run around town no rest for their hooves
Baking biscuits of brick and blood
Stirring sauces made of sweat and mud.
Betty draws a line..
The line goes for a walk, starts to run around the paper, then stands still for a moment and slowly dances around the other lines
I saw, heard and felt all of these records in one tight little group and they sort of made a story for me all on their own. I recorded this two weeks ago, right after I reRECed Reverie's poem 'Ghost King' and mostly_harmless's image 'A Place Called Home', both tremendous pieces in my mind.
'Garden Full of Bones' by AVonDyne and 'Et In Arcadia Ego' by Anthologia seem like possibilities for the queen's impetuses for her reasoning, maybe what pushed her along in her life. I've used 'Roots of the Forgotten' before - in a hand-made collage piece ('Snip snip snippety snip') and just can't really get over the organic quality - it's so bruised and so full of hurt and damage that I have to remind myself it is only paper. Here, it seems to serve as a testament to her end. And I really felt, in my heart of hearts, that her end came in djnamelis's 'Forest 20'. Venns's 'The Monolith' seems to me to have the enormity of the impact that this queen would have had, the enormity of reverence amongst the people she left behind. It matches in gravity the regal, unafraid stance of dreamskilledtherealitystar's 'Queen of the Iceni'. And what can I even say about Johhnyclyde's 'So It Seems'? I must have listened to this a hundred times while trying to cut all the stills together (sorry - such an amateur) and I never ever tired of it.
Anyway. Hopefully, you like it. And if you don't, hopefully you might REmix it into something you do... <3
I can't go to the Fall Formal. But if I was going to go, I have the perfect dress! So I thought I'd make a video of my (fictional) gussying up for the big night.
I got a little silly with my reRECs this week. :P
I tried to incorporate what Joe discussed in his Fall Formal collab. visual. From the last intro video I REmixed, I gained a better understanding of quick edits. I even tried my hand at making a sequence stutter with the music.

From a distance,
looked just like a star.
So, when she fell from a tall tree,
instead of rushing to her aid,
I took this picture at the "Rio Viejo" (Old River) in Nicaragua, I took a lot of continuous shots and this is one of the results!!! :o)
I love this little guy, even when he bother Matt all the time, but I was thinking that he need a companion that go with him to the Fall Formal, so here you have, Mr and Mrs Heart ready for the Fall Formal!!!
I'm still learning After Effects but I put together a little something for the Gloams. Check it out.
The RE-RECing Heart Guy is primed for the Fall Formal, and it should be noted that the top hat and tux don't make him any less of a prick.
Watch the video and you'll understand the title :D Also, sorry it's so long, but you'll see why!
FCPX by Dr. Gory missamerica ;P
Well since I live in Europe I sadly won't be able to go to THE FALL FORMAL but anyway it was alot of fun making this little video showing me getting ready for the Fall Formal=) And Thanks to my friend for the patience of recording me :D (+ public domain footage)
Added repetitive layer-y autumnal vocals to Sarasota's awesome instrumental. Bit of an experiment! <3
Meet me on the hill
By the Sycamore yet to heal
From the shattered heart you carved into its blank face
Your dreams are in a knot
You gotta strike while the iron is hot
And the iron in your blood is boiling over
My soul is on fire
The love you have me for is a fire escape
But I need a little help from you
'Cause my arms and legs are weak
A cabin in the woods
Or a moonswept neighborhood
The cold cement and concubines, they confine you
The sky's a spiderweb
And each star is a trembling egg
And the spiders hatch beneath an onyx cover
Yes, it could be true that I,
It worked this time! Sarah's reading of fractaldust's text set to Johnnyclyde's music. Rough draft, really, hope you like it!
Please let me know if I left you out of the resources.
I just love these mysterious animals! Did a search for narwhal and found these cute guys and the "Auquatic Symphony" by jaw521 is just amazing :)
made this, at tori's request, while she waited. <3
back in the early days of hitRECord, one of the very first collabs was the Photo Journal Collaboration. lisa organised it for a little blue suitcase to roam around the world for a year or so, visiting different hitRECorders. inside were two cameras & each person could use only one shot on each to capture something. magnificently the suitcase reached every person & returned home full of treasure. each person was allowed to take one thing from the case in exchange for adding something new on the way & when it returned it was packed with wonderful things. one such item was a heart that lit up like a heartbeat. lisa took a video of it, which inspired this little moving snapshot.
I was chillaxing Sunday afternoon browsing images on hR while watching football games when I came across a cool scan of a painting by Jaded12. The sign in the painting inspired me to recreate the sign in 3D.
This is my first RECord inspired by someone else's work, so I'm hoping I did the resource thing right.
I loved the idea of taking a picture using mirrors or reflective surfaces. I thought the standing in front of the window would be like a gorgeous silhoutte in color. I thought the brick background really added a nice touch, If I were in a band I would have like to have someone else in the right lens, but I ended up putting my electric guitar there.
I have a long standing love affair with Dandruff's "Truly Human" record and Joe's "Breezy Burns" footage. About a year ago I made a video, HitREcord Makes Us Truly Human. I thought now might be a nice time to revisit it, throw in some work form the past shows, what we have been doing over the past year.
Long may we continue to be inspired by the past and believe in our own present!
This one's for you, Dan
Here's a RECord I made today showing off an animation technique I learned recently. Enjoy!
Here's another animation thingie I made this evening. Enjoy!
Just the wirrow hoodie I made, no big deal.
(I constructed and sewed the ears on the hood and then hand embroidered the little wirrow logo onto the pocket)
EDIT: Adding it to the summer collection! Not sure if eared hoodies would be feasible, but hey, zip up hoodies would be awesome so perhaps someone could adapt this
Okay, after a bajillion downloads and getting to know my computer screen really well, here's my first go at posting a video for HitRECord. Woo!
Hope this can be helpful for Fall Formal or at least be helpful as people put stuff together! Wish I could be there!
Thanks to everyone who posted stuff!
Thank the lord for Malicore and his funky album! I took his "We Go Supernova" record and paired it with kelseybear's awesome Poor Man lyrics/poem.
Hope you enjoy! <3
I have found that little lullaby-y tune the other day, thought it was really pretty and decided to make a third harmony.
Hope you'll like it ! And maybe make you kids quiet. Hopefully.
I'm a stargazer. This is a two hour time lapse of the stars circling overhead. Might want to go full screen when viewing this one :D
I wanted to practice drawing people in interesting poses. For some reason this came to mind. In tribute to MattConley's awesome re-rec video skits. Sorry Matt, I know it doesn't really look like you! Also apologies for the crappy quality. The reason I work in lineart has as much to do with the fact that I like it as it does that my scanner completely destroys any detail (I really need a new one.)
I actually wrote this in January after the first time I read tommacarte's "The Same." I know he provided chords but I couldn't get this folksy tune out of my head and it was C G Am F for me...again.
Here's some raw footage of me with the things I've bought from the RECord store: the shadow heart t-shirt (plus button), the RECollection (sans the vinyl because it's no longer available as I understand) and the tiny book of tiny stories.
Like I said, the footage is raw, there is no sound, so editors can have at it!
Another experiment! Hope its useful for something!

Mesdames et messieurs de Los Angeles
Bonsoir et bienvenue au hitRECord Fall Formal
Nous vous rappelons qu'il est préférable de laisser tous vos appareils enregistreurs allumés !
Monsieur Joseph Gordon Levitt
Assembled an abridged version of RegularJOE'sreading of wirrow's "A New Hevn" and rearranged portions of Johnnyclyde's "Electric Winter" to form a teaser of the complete story.
I was kind of bored from uploading all of the amoeba footage so I decided to bust out the old xylophone and toy piano and this is what I came up with. REMIX it!!!
its tuned down a half step. i hope you like ths slash can think of something do with it. any feedback is always wecome i am always looking to improve so have at me if you will.
em C G D There is a house deep in the woods And it is beautiful And the sins here are older and cooler to the touch But this blasphemy is such ... Oh my heart can take it There is a house deep in the woods And she is beautiful. There are the things my heart hides from But don't tell anyone And I seek for the purer and softer to the soul But the lengths that I must go So that you may feel im worth it There are things my heart hides from But don't tell anyone. Chorus: I have faced hell and high water but I have never faced it alone I am never alone There is no such thing The wicked clever watch my back and I have an angel on my side But hell burns with so many colors I almost think everyone should see. And this is terrible But it is not so bad And the worst thougth to ever cross my mind Are the best that I have ever had And you all are trying to help But I really don't mind when I am sad And you let me know There is no such thing as alone No such thing There is a house deep in the woods And it is beautiful And the sins here are older and cooler to the touch But this blasphemy is such ... Oh my heart can take it There is a house deep in the woods And she is beautiful (Chorus) Slow to half time I have faced hell and high water but I have never faced it alone I am never alone There is no such thing The wicked clever watch my back and I have an angel on my side And one day they might just get married And damn near everyone will cry But I will laugh with them Cause they will need me to And because they need me too
You can’t fight the moment of truth in your life,
Sooner or later fate will pierce you like a knife,
Shake though you may,
You cannot hope to get away.<...
Here is footage of a curtain being pulled. Plus there is some other cool footage that might be usefull in making the intro video.
Here is the public domain resource
Thanks pamagotchi for translating the song for me :o) such a lovely lovely song!
i don't even know what to say here. this was originally just for the 'what are you wearing' collab, but then it turned into a bad craigs' list dating entry.
and i'm okay with that.
I asked and he said yes!! We're going to Fall Formal!
**would love to see this REmixed :o)

Here's a little something I whipped up while waiting for the RECollection to arrive.
The bumper has no soundtrack. If anyone can add sound, I would appreciate it very much.
**Sept 18th 2012 Update
Feel free to remix it, add sound, cut it up, etc for the new Branded Bumpers collab. Thanks guys! :)
in my stomach of stomachs, i love chocolate
in my liver of livers, i love wine
in my brain of brains, i love ideas
in my heart of hearts...
Sorry about the title... I figured "A Mathematical Counterargument to a Popular Tiny Story by RegularJOE and moonbug" wouldn't sound very exciting...
This was made purely for giggles, and also because this was one of the first tiny stories I ever read on hitRECord, and I have secretly been horribly offended on the behalf of circles everywhere for almost a year now.
moonbug and Joe, I hope you find this amusing :'D no hard feelings... but watch out for the circles while you're sleeping, they're pretty mad.
Ok, so this is how I would love to dress up if I had a chance to attend the fall formal. I love my worn-out, run-down, shabby old boots! What makes me look forward to fall is the thought of having a reason to put them back on, and I dread springtime, when they have to disappear in the closet for another season. And, needless to say, I'd pick them over high heels any time! ;)
You might want to grab a glass of red wine or some chi tea and sit back for this one.
My first record is a tribute to all hitRECorders and the lovely song 'My Heart Carries Stones' by Amferraro! Hope you guys enjoy it <3
So we had to make an audio documentary for one of my classes, and I did mine about hitRECord, so I figured I might as well post it here!
Also, I don't know why I sound really Irish when I say "check it out." It's 4 AM.
back in '09 while on location for a short independent film. worked as production assistant here.
Rundown plant at Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines.
as soon as she kissed me
i felt the tendrils
coursing through my lips, over my tongue
seeking all passageways
it seems i had many
I wanted to make something to go along with this : )
I wish I knew video stuff so I could make a video for it, but it was still fun making this
if i were going to the fall formal this is what i would wear.
yes that is a duck and no i don't know why i'm holding a hula hoop and no i am not holding a pair of orange testicles those are ear muffs because i am told it will be cold in the theater and no i'm not wearing pants so the ear muffs would be kind of obsolete and yes those are dinosaur feet and yes that is a unicorn horn and clearly i don't understand the purpose of a cumberbun and yes i know that's not really how you spell it and yes those are moustaches on my underpants and no those are not mickey mouse ears they are panda ears and no i cannot explain the hitRECord button band thing on my thigh just go with it.
SO WHO'S GONNA BE MY DATE?
This one took me a couple of days, but here's another animation for everyone. Enjoy!
Filming/editing/acting all by Sherbethead and Edward Shallow.
Public domain footage used -
and footage from the 'King Of Jazz'.
i loved this tiny story when i first saw totallyjamie 's tiny film.. i knew i wanted to bring it alive with actors..
i hope you guys enjoy this one as much as did making it
special thats to spara for helping with the shoot
I've loved this tiny story for awhile and what better way to hone my After Effects skills than to make a little animation for it. Hope you enjoy it. :)
Well, this is my second attempt to upload this video, the other one that I upload about 2 hours ago is still encoding, so I decide to give it another try, maybe this time it works, if not, I guess I just have to wait for any of them to work properly, maybe someday one of them decide to leave the land of the encoding videos!.....haha
While looking at my cells under the microscope I found those two fellas having a conversation! Too cute not to share :) Maybe someone comes up with a little story about them...
Stained cell nuclei, 200-times magnified
When I watched Channing's footage I instantly thought of Matt's wonderful Cirque du Patterns record. Then I found a piece of music with this strikingly fitting title and had to have a go at it :) Hope you guys like it!
Also, I came across this great piece of writing again http://www.hitrecord.org/records/308535 I think it would go nicely with that footage, maybe someone can record a voiceover....
Hey all!! Been a while since I jumped in the record pool. Sorry who knows where the time goes.
This is something I shot with a buddy when we found this abandon school. I have more footage but just wanted to throw this together to see what ya thought. We're gonna go back and do something a little more thought out soon. Would love for someone to write and story, or give any ideas where to take a narritave.
I love this charcter!
Miss all of you Recorders!!
Much love from the Clown world.
P.s for some reason when I uploaded it. It cut the frame. It should be wider!
when i color, im teleported into a world of redflowerspurpleelephants. then the crayon breaks. and im back at this grayscaled, cruddy place.
there is a resource missing of the girl. the original is a boy in that position but i cant find it. help!
soo, a few thoughts on that silly thing we call love.
I shot another time lapse! This one is three and a half hours condensed down to twenty seconds. The earth spins kinda slow :) Heard this track Floating Leaves on the hitRECord homepage and thought it'd fit nicely. Me thinks I was right. What do you think?
I’m cutting it close but I had to get an entry in for this. Yes, I used the name Rainey because I pictured themetafictionist as the female lead. She does a lot of video records and I&rsquo...
I am off to Glasgow for the weekend so won't be around on Sunday to do my ReRECs..so here is a Friday ReREC!
This week, we go to the mysterious ReREC Island to discover strange and unique RERECUS SUNDAYUS!
I went for David Attenborough, and came out sounding more like Albus Dumbledore. DA --> AD.
Well, it’s October the 7th, which means that it’s my HitRECordiversary today :] One whole year! & let me tell you: it’s been an amazing...
here's how and why i fell in love with the most beautiful thing in the universe: mathematics. (mortifyingly enough, i get very emotional when i talk about it and almost started crying at the end... aaawkward... i also forgot to cover some other important points, namely how i joined hitRECord so i could spread my love for math in a fun, interesting way... perhaps i'll save that for my next video :D)
video is not available at the moment (it is probably hiding in SHAME!) so please download for now, or let me know when you can finally view it on here :) it's a bit long though, perhaps i'll try cutting it down later...
