was sitting on my balcony having breakfast and noticed that there was a lovely brick wall to my left.. i really need to spend more time out there.
I'm just uploading some textures and backgrounds for REmix purposes...I have to warn you...I'm going to upload a lot... so I apologise in advance...I'll put them all in an album once uploaded.
Paper laid onto water with waterproof ink swished around in it. Other torn textures using the same method layered on top using Photoshop.
A grand piano in one of the rehearsal studios at the Art Center Music School, Detroit. Like the building, it's badly in need of some cosmetic work. For the backgrounds & textures collab.
A couple more backgroundish, textury things from my latest trip to the swamp. Maybe they'll be useful to someone. The rest will be in the album if anyone wants to poke around.
I haven't released a RECord in a long time so I might be a little rusty. Let me know what you think! Feel free to edit this as much as you want. It's an honor to be REmixed. I think this one could be really cool if you crop it off along one of the waves and make it a cool pattern of ground for some new world. Just an idea.
While walking home from the park, I noticed this flower petal covered sidewalk and just had to shoot it. I wish I had gotten a little bit lower and a tad to the right
We have a sky. It's a thin, pale, beautiful little layer of oxygen held onto our particular ball of rocks by gravity, protected by the iron core of the world twisting the magnetic fields to deflect the sun's endless burning wind. This is what that sky looked like with clouds one day.
Oakland, CA. Shot from across the Lake Merritt.
I love the way tall city buildings with their lit & unlit windows look like some kind of digital code at night.
All I did to it in Photoshop (besides a slight lens correction) was auto-tone and "smart mask" on the auto, "more accurate," Gaussian blur setting. Outside of Photoshop, all I did was take the photo just slightly out of focus (by accident).
I don't remember what this was, but it was undoubtedly in the Russell Industrial Complex in Hamtramck, MI (enclave of Detroit).
As autumn turned to winter
The boy watched the leaves fall in a heap
It was as if the trees were undressing
Before they went to sleep..
rejjie's "red complexity 2" pattern made me want to make a pattern, but my skills are limited. One of my mottos is "exploit your weaknesses," so I made a rough, imperfect pattern that's meant to be rough and imperfect. FWIW, perhaps it can become fabric or wallpaper or something in the background of somebody's illustration.
It's just drawn in Photoshop and then tiled over my background, "Paint on the wall," resourced below, and chosen because it was still sitting on my computer desktop.
Back on the bus, heading to the causeway for space shuttle Atlantis' last launch and subsequently the last launch of the shuttle program. STILL go/no-go.
