Here are some audio records I’ve made that I selected for Auotmator’s Collage Collab. I didn’t pick these records just because I made them. I chose them because of the amazing resources I had access to in creating them. Each one of the resources I’ve used I would recommend for this collaboration on their merits alone, so if you like a certain part of a record you might be able to find a separate record for that part within the resources.
the atom song Remix - This is a simplistic trip-hop style remix that just has drums, piano and vocals. At the 2:30 mark the drums drop out and the strings come in which is a nice blend of all the different versions of the song I used.
DNA Chords (Double Helix Mix) ver.1 – I chose this particular record because it’s the first time I sampled the same performance from different video record resources. The intro to the song is a great sample and at the 1:48 mark all the layers I added drop out and it’s just the piano and the audience clapping which I think is the best part of this spectacular performance.
Corroded Circuits – A very simplistic open ended hip-hop track that could be used for samples. There is an also a flow from Awol One at the 1:35 mark that really goes well with this laidback beat.
Pieces (niteclub mix) – This one has a dark 90’s Rn’B vibe with some wicked vocals from Riana6. The intro and outro has some good open ended parts that can be sampled.
tiny song SITC 2 – Caribbean style percussion with a organ at the intro that goes into a hip-hop beat with a reading of the SITC tiny story.
The Blue in You – You know I had to include one of my funk tracks. At the 1:19 & 2:23 marks the beat drops and the groove gets a little dubby which would be good for samples.
I’m releasing this remix on my one year anniversary of being on hitRECord, and I find it fitting that it would be this record in particular since it’s a great example of why I HITrecord. It gives me the chance to take great records from talented individuals like Wirror, Metaphorest, Megancames, PASIV; and do whatever I want with them till my heart’s content. Thanks for the resources!
Thanks to MattConley’s recent RE-RECommendation collab. A number of contributions shined a light on this series of recorders that I found amazing based around the “Atom Song”. I liked them so much I wanted to combine them and make a new mix. Enjoy!
Here is my first stab at remixing Joe's performance at BFI. A big thanks to everyone that REcorded the performance.
Maybe its just be but sometimes I feel that resources are full of spoilers. At least the audio player dosen't show waveforms.
85 BPM
With this tiny song I wanted to focus on the double entendre within the SITC tiny story.
