This is sort of a ReREC I suppose. I Recommended three RECords today that I felt like went together with one another: Emma Conner's "In Flight", TheBrightside's "Romantic Poetry" and "Everything and Everyone" by blaga. I decided to mesh them together into an image. I remixed the poem so if you want to see the original masterwork in its true glory, you'll need to go to blaga's RECord. In fact, I'd strongly going to all these RECords, they're awesome and deserve some love (ie. hearts!) :D

This is just an image I put together for Rochelle Boucher's "Tap Dance - tiny story" and jesterlady's "Tap Dance REmix" :) It's just something that came to mind and I decided to make it, a whim. Hope it looks okay and maybe helps get people to other remixes for their RECords! Cheers!

Here are the words for this, in case you would like them:

There once was a land of four colorful strands — blue, red, purple and green

Each boasted a unique harvest of their very own with bountiful, curious things

In Bluestradt they had beautiful whaparnacles, in Redstradt they had tasty prings

In Purplestradt they raised fat abordolooz and in Greenstradt they made warm dahfeem

Now within each land of colorful strands there lived people an awesome assortment of shades

The Bluestradt whaparnacle carvers are blue in hue and Redstradt cooks crimson of face

Purplestradt wranglers are both red and blue, Greenstradt clothiers blue or yellow-skin graced

And they all had a way of unknowingly interacting that at a glance might seem kind of strange

Those who were blue enjoyed fruits multitude; dahfeem shirts, whaparnacle rings and domesticated abordolooz

While those who were red ate prings deliciously prepared and had access to abordolooz for their own uses, too

And yellows were always so amazingly arrayed with dahfeem hats, socks, dresses, scarves, boots and suits

They would share all these precious objects within their own color culture, but made one pay if you were outside the loop

So blues gave to blues and reds gave to reds and yellows gave to yellows like everyone else did

The yellows had clothes and the reds food in droves and the blues had gabardines, beasts and gems

But the reds needed dahfeem for freezing incarnadine winters and blue needed pring seeds to plant them

And the yellows so resplendent could hardly live without the whaparnacle accessories blue’s fashioned

Each needed each but only for so many things and quickly the picture is born

That the blues need the least because they have the most and the yellows the most because their coffers are shorn

While the reds, though they had something the yellows did not, could benefit from a little bit more

Just or unjust, due to lack or largess of resource, gradually, of course, a social system does form

Now one might be tempted to say the story ends here, but that isn’t how this story goes

For one day one color gave freely to another, though who started it we don’t rightly know,

We’re uncertain how long it took to catch on, but eventually this propensity grows

To the point that every color is giving to one another and the old system automatically implodes

In a world where the dahfeem, whaparnacle and prings and abordolooz are shared equally

It isn’t too much of a surprise to discover that blues, reds and yellows mixed and had new colored babies

They were indigos and oranges, very explorative little sojourners, who surveyed every land length and wave on the seas

Where they founded more places for colors to collaborate together in a united community

Their civilization thrived, they built pretty ships they could fly, and set out into the universe with a plan

“Let’s spread the truth of what we’ve learned to as many as we can! Go forth! Expound and expand!”

They zoom all around us every day in their rockets, they are light in all of its spectrums

So when you see a rainbow or how colors all work as one just remember how it all began...

Recently I put up a collab called the Help CompletRECord Project as a response to RECorder's needs for a space to voice specific help requests for their work. The basic idea is you post your requests and check out those that are already posted to see if you can help your fellow RECorder's out.

This is the first ever episode (er, audisode) of my "Work Request ReRECs", a series in which I try to feature the requests that exist in the collab in hopes that we (and by we I mean you, I add as an homage to one of our favorite RECorders :P) can learn about what people want and maybe funnel some our energy into getting it done.

To view all of the Work Requests you can go to the collab either by using the browser to pull it up, accessing it from the collabs on my profile page or clicking the icon for it in the Resources bank.

I don't know how well this came out since the colored images come from paint (they could end up looking fuzzy with the effects I used in Windows Movie Maker), but hopefully it came together well :)

I would like to thank suzyrene, whose pictures were just what I needed to help give visuals to this tiny story, RJ28 who did vocals for it and The Morning Hollows whose song "Pam's Puppycat Instrumental" fit exactly what I had in my head for music to accompany it! Y'all rock!

After seeing Mrs.Tibbs23's version of suzyrene's "Red & Wolf", it made me think that I could give Paint a try for coloring one of the drawings. I didn't finish the wolf, so instead I looked for a forest background and found this RECord from May 2010 by aurora188 called "record trees". I decided to put them together. The edges look rough, the blank space on the left side probably could do with something, and there is touchup work to be done on Red, but since this was all kind of done on a whim, I don't feel too bad about that :D Hope people like it! Feel free to do something with it! Cheers!

Lol, this image was just something I made for fun :P It came as a result of a comment from thewhitelady in filmpunk's "you decide your own level of involvement" RECord in which she mentioned browsing for random topics. I took all the topics and cobbled together an image, I hope you find looking at it as much fun as I found making it! The images that I used included "Potato Moon" by Monika Dekowska, "ghost monkey at night" by saintmaker, "veggies-2" by oddTREE, "Turn the clocks back" by Dannah and "Geometric RECord Button" by raindrop.

So, after writing that "Cookie Apocalypse" song, I've had this itch in the back of my mind to see what the song would look like if it were expanded into a Christmas musical. I haven't worked on it especially, but when I heard J_aime's instrumental "Rain" it inspired me to tinker a bit and see what I could come up with.

To give you the setting, this song would come around or after the midway point in a musical. In my mind it is sang by a female lead rather than a male (I had to make due with what I had, that's why it's a guy's voice, lol :P) and the woman is engaging in a sort of musical monologue about her worries over the impending doom that might be portended by a cookie apocalypse. I know, it sounds far-fetched, just listen to the song, lol. If you like it feel free to work with it. I think it would sound good if it were extended and additional lyrics were added in. Oh, and J_aime's original tune is better than this b/c I did fiddle with it to make it longer, so check her's out to hear it in all its true grandeur!

As a sort of disclaimer, I am not a musician. My voice sometimes sounds good when I sing and sometimes doesn't. If I hurt your ears, I apologize in advance. Also, just to announce a milestone, I downloaded Audacity last night and this was my first attempt to use it :D Anyway, I hope you all enjoy. Cheers!

Hi all :D I hope you're having a great day or night as the case may be. I did this in spare time at work. It's nothing overly special and I believe it could be done much better (add actual visual elements to the hearts and maybe even depict horrible twists of fate that could happen if they go the wrong way), but considering I was at work, this is what I came up with between breaks and lunch and I'm happy, lol. I hope you find it to be interesting, maybe even hopeful... This is what originally drew me to TheBrightsides' image "Romantic Poetry" (I needed a center for my maze) :) I wanted to call this 'loverinth" but a band has already taken that name. SO. Collabs are awesome! But it's difficult keeping up with which ones are already out there. As part of the HelpCompletRECord Project (which aims to create an opportunity for people who need assistance finishing projects find those who can give them a hand) I am going to try and do these Collab Shout Outs every week :D When I do my audisodes for the Help CompletRECord Project, I will also try to include a segment outlining the new collabs for each week. The format for this is still up for change (this was just the first time) and the information may be hard to read right now. I'll tweak each week till I get stuff right ;) Hope this is helpful for some!

Oh, and as far as finding the collabs go, you can use the number typed with the entry to locate that particular collab by url (all numbers are preceded by “hitrecord.org/records/” to get to them; just add the number after the last slash).

Don't forget, you can also put up Work Requests for your Collabs in the Help CompletRECord Project as well to give people more specific direction on portions of your projects :D Cheers!

Lol, yeah, this is a longer audisode, so long in fact that I've had gobs of trouble trying to get it uploaded tonight. SOOOO much trouble, yet such an adventure let me tell you ;) The good news is in addition to its length the audio, excuse me video I had to make to upload my audio, is ALSO filled with more content than my past Work Request RErecs! So the extra 30 minutes is not a bad thing (assuming I am still able to get it to upload this time around, lol) :D By the end you're sure to learn a lot about Work Requests and the NEWEST collabs on the block! And think I'm a nutter, probably, lol.

So, sit back, relax and get some popcorn or hot chocolate and give it a listen ;) If you want something to keep you busy while you listen, feel free to do some doodles of the Help CompletRECord mascot - the pixie monkey!
