All my hearts for this week.
Remember, since my dashboard is all screwy if you really want me to see something or respond to something, leave it here for me!

Hey guys, I've shot all the cabin scenes for Herringbone in a green screen studio. Hopefully this can be useful to help this collaboration get going again. I was hoping for people to get involved and make some art for the train cabin and add visual effects in to give it a mood. There's certain scenes missing, this is for hitrecord to decide what to do, personally, I'd love to see some animation of the protagonist where there's gaps.
(This version is ungraded for maximum flexibility in post.)
There is a second of bars at 3:01 -- this is just there to show that I've skipped past the part about "At faro in Denver..." just so people don't get confused by me dropping a good paragraph of writing.
That's pretty much it. Now get inspired!

this one came about by my falling a little bit in love with great musicians
Get away, I’ll fly away, it’s been a long time
With a silent sigh in your eye, it’s been a long time
And I’ll howl at the pale blue moon
And then cry when I hear that tune
They have not been true
I hope you know that I love you
Honestly it’s killing me; it’s been a long time
Gonna’ set off across the sea; it’s been a long time
And my face it is getting warm
And then try not to start a storm
Bested by your voice
And then flutter but not by choice
Till you’re gone away
Follow me it’s meant to be; it’s been a long time
I’ll surrender my broken side; it’s been a long time
Together in harmony
Side by side it’s just you and me
I came across this poem, The Way We Love, by Babbish tonight and was absolutely inspired. It needed to be a song. And the lyrics reminded me of a song you might hear in a musical. So I wrote tune for it. I'm actually working on a harmony to go with the melody here, but I would love for other people to join in with instruments and such.

I created this tune using 10 samples on GarageBand. I used 3 electric bass samples, 2 drum kits, 2 organ, 1 electricpiano, 1 congos, and a shaker. Feel free to use for anything :)

Somone told me once, "We are merely a single point of consciousness, dreaming in front and behind," that is into the future and the past. This continually hits me in new and inspiring ways, and the lyrical content and eaneikciv's performance of This song certainly hit me in a new and wonderful way. I'm thankful for the wonderful art that brings new inspiration. Thanks TBS's for the creative new remix.
Needs: Organ, bass, percussion, maybe some fine tuned mixing. Just ask for the stems!! Also, the ending could be a brand new song!!
If you'd like the stems, let me know!!

Ever wondered why the multitude of leads, cables and wires behind your computer or tv always end up intransigently tangled together as if by their own free will?
I set up a camera with the aim to discover the cause of this phenomena and the result was surprising to say the least.
* This is actually something I made quite a few years ago but wirrow persuaded me to upload here - appologies if some of the text looks a bit blurry i converted it from an old swf file *
enjoy :]
The day after Thanksgiving is decorating day in my parents' house, so all of the halls are already sufficiently decked with garlands and shiny lights and trees... I took stock footage with my camera phone of the house all christmassed out for anyone who may need to make a holiday-themed video. Below are timestamps for specific clips so nobody has to sift through the whole nine minutes to see if they can use any of it.

Update: Sadly, I lost a lot of my work on this due to a faulty drive. So mad, and so sad... So this is what it is, as-is, until I find time to return to it. I really loved where I was going with this piece, so I plan on returning to it eventually (maybe for my 500th Record?) In the meantime, anyone else is of course more than welcome to reMIX and/or continue it yourself!
:::::::::
So, this was my 100th RECord! And I wanted it to be special, so I put a lot of work into a BIG animation idea to complete for it…
However, a couple snags in animating and execution = the full animation took a lot longer than I thought. Time is always the hottest variable with animating, so no big surprise here, but I do have a couple other items/RECords that I want to upload on hitRECord while I am completing this animation, so, my 100th RECord is just another sneak peek of my progress so far and “to be continued…” This low-res, so I am sorry for the grainy quality and the pacing chops here and there, just keep in mind that the full-quality piece is a lot smoother.
The animation idea spiraled-off of Mirtle’s “raindrops” illustration (recently Featured) as well as time I spent diving deeper into Mirtle’s impressive, and completely inspiring, collection of work. We all adore Mirtle’s Illustrations, which goes without saying, and I think what is so captivating about each illustration is that they are so damn delicate while being executed with such strength (and I hope my animation can echo that.) The pieces have this wondering doodle quality but unlike doodles - that seem almost lost – these illustrations decide to create their own map and their adventures just screamed at me to be animated.
I also have fallen in love with eaneikciv’s “Yes, We're Sinking” audio RECord, and it came to mind as I was swimming through Mirtle’s work. Hence, the concept was born. It just swallowed me up. I had to begin working on it.
Pheew! That was a lot of rambling, but I hope I am making sense. I hope you enjoy the animation so far. It will continue it, and will carry the lil’ raindrop girl through a few more Mirtle-inspired adventures/worlds.
So I really like Sherb's footage and the performances from the actors and I really like that this project is getting a good push again. So I decided to try and do my part. After I exported this I realized that some of my keying wasn't that great on Edward but this is only a test. I really liked the background I used but it would be rad if it was more high res. There is definitely a need for tons of artwork and backgrounds for this project, so artists, get on it. We need the interior of the train.
I would love any notes and constructive criticism from anyone including maybe some direction from Sherbet Head or Rian Johnson or anyone else that might have some good suggestions.
Also I would love some suggestions for music or a score for this piece. Maybe you could put together an album full of music that could be used.

Also just F.Y.I. the train sound and glass clinking sound were from my royalty free apple sound effects that came with soundtrack pro when I bought it.

A song inspired by Janetfelts (and Mirtle's) Hibernate.
I've left the ending/outro completely bare, I was thinking people could sing 'Hibernate' over the top and add extra instrumentation :)
blurry christmas lights AND dancing dust, can it really get any better than this?
i left this footage pretty much unedited (minus the parts of my kids bumping into the camera that i decided to take out). christmas lights are one of my favorite things, blurry ones are even better, and this dust is just magical. it kinda reminds me of snow, which we sadly don't get much of here in mississippi. i hope this inspires someone to make something wintery and beautiful :)
i just added the background music out of boredom. it's called "flurry" and it was my first RECord i ever posted here almost a year ago, i can't believe it's been that long already!
**disclaimer: i mayyy have shaken an old blanket in front of the camera to get extra dusts in a few shots. just didn't want anyone thinking my house is always this dusty. i have way too many dusty video RECords (dusty dance, dusty piano) - maybe it's a sign that i should clean my house.

I've dug deep enough to realize I'm shallow |

Just a little ditty inspired by mirtle's drawing! It's just voice and it should actually be in time - so have at it! (Maybe 52bpm I think?)
This winter I want to go live in a tree
I'll be in its belly til January
I hope that you will remember me
And visit me in my November tree

CALM IS THE RIVER
I fell in the bramble
Of your coy autumn eyes
Our hearts and that woolly moon
Were on the rise
But heavy is a heart
When the love of the labor dies
Dizzy, we melted
Into warm bourbon skies
My head in the clouds
And my hands on your thighs
But love like mine
Is a consolation prize
You catch a look at yourself
In those dusty old windows
Start movin' along
Before that cold wind blows
I drowned in your lows
Drank the stars on your highs
We sailed to the sun
Just to laugh at its size
We threw a clock off our rooftop
To see if time flies
I'm quiet as a dead mouse
In spite of your sighs
You ask me to choose
From a deck full of lies
Still are the walls
But loud are the neighbors' cries
I moved a mountain for you
And you kicked dirt in my eyes
You crossed an ocean for me
And I spat in your eyes
You catch a look at yourself
In those dusty old windows
Start movin' along
Before that blustery cold wind blows

If you all keep inspiring me, I am never going to get any sleep... hee hee
Once I am done with my "raindrops (remix) animation," I'll return to this. In the meantime, what are all of your thoughts on these ideas:
- to add much needed music (wherever that ends up - your guys are rocking it!)
- to add the text (timing it with lyrics? in a similar font stylization/treatment as under-ground hitRECord logo I created?)
- to add an establishing shot at the beginning (I am thinking fall leaves blowing that turn to snowfall?)
- to add some inter-cuts of side-animations (of the rabbits and the owls?)
Oh, and I'll make the animation over-all smoother, but I threw this together pretty quick to get the idea out of my head, and to get some feedback/thoughts/artwork from all of you ;^)
Thoughts?
GO!
I’ve remixed 11+1 of my images to represent the 12 months that I’ve been a hitRECorder. ;-D
I wish I could hug everyone who has supported me over this time, either by giving hearts, comments or constructive criticism – it truly means a lot. HitRECord is encouraging me to try myself in new artistic areas, and even though I’ll probably struggle with my self-confidence and self-doubt forever, I’m still proud that being a hitRECorder is the only thing in my life that I haven’t given up on yet.
I joined hR 1 year ago…but I just noticed I mixed up the dates (I thought it’s 30th Nov but now I see it’s 25th…oh well, who cares anyway? The point is that I’m still here.;-)
I remember how relieved and happy I was for finally finding a community where I could discuss and support any kind of Art and collaborate with fellow like-minded people. I’m grateful to RegularJOE & burningDan for creating this amazing platform and community for us; and to all you gorgeous people I’ve had the chance to get to know here: I’m not just simply stunned by your versatile artistic talent, but also by your restless creativity and enthusiasm you demonstrate here daily.
And finally, thank you hitRECord for changing my views in so many ways. <3
PS: I’m actually tearing up a bit while I’m writing these lines…it feels like I’m saying goodbye or something… ;/
Today marks my one-year anniversary at hitRECord. I started this REmix some four months ago and for some reason I couldn't get any momentum to carry it through. But this weekend, I finished it. Coincidentally, I had already included some footage of NYC but given the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to keep it in. Thanks to via for showing me in her video fireflies for sarah how to correctly edit PASIV's version of Megan Carnes' Sunday Evening.

This is one of those songs that I grew up with and has always sat, nestled, in some little corner of me. And occasionally it pops up and crawls into my ear and my head and my heart.
On this occasion, I had a cold [hence the croak] and this song was my blanket.
