these are a few of my favorite things...
i first have to say that this shot is not photoshoped in anything beyond some cropping and contrast/saturation, etc. that is his actual jump.
beyond that - yes - i know this line (in its actual sense) is totally overused. but i couldn't resist putting a spin on it and captioning the photograph with it.
i promise to try to avoid cliches in all my future RECords. :)
but really like this. i hope you find use/inspiration in it, too.

taking a chance remixing this portrait - but wanted to see what would happen with some color and blowing out the windows and some of the floor to draw more attention to the man in the chair. (who i assume is jason...the origninal RECord is jsonclite's portrait).
really i only changed some brightness, saturation, shadows and highlights...was a good shot to begin with.
if only we could all be so stoic as our scripts get thrown back in our face.
----
ok - i actually have no idea what the concept is behind this picture as jsonclite took it. but i could just picture an enraged publisher or editor or agent literally tossing a script back in the face of a writer while screaming red-faced. and the writer just standing there not reacting amongst the snow-flurry of pages fluttering all around him.

i couldn't resist mixing these together.
in case you can't read the font:
"Sometimes I say, ‘again by heart’.
The syllable 'CORD' is supposedly
a variation on an ancient
proto-indo-european root word --
the same as core, corps, cœur --
meaning heart.
"'RE' is an old prefix indicating repetition.
So, in that sense, I've been RECording
as long as my heart's been beating
over and over and over again.
And so have you."

emma conner did a beautiful job creating "life through a lens." in making the iris a RECord button, she really captured the concept that our eyes are our first cameras.
i saw sbo's frost fairie poppy - then i saw kestrel's frost fairy dresses and i knew what i had to do next!
i'm working on a limited computer here, so i only had microsoft paint and windows live photo gallery to work with...made for a fun challenge.
voila - a poppy frost farie! :) (her name is gretta)

we all seem to at least tacitly agree that silence, somber and disinterested is the "polite" and expected form in which we should interact with those to whom we have never previously communicate... |

this photo was my test run onto hitRECord - it was the first thing i ever uploaded. i then made it my avatar as it is both one of my favorite and most defining photographs. :)
i'm leaving the initial statement i had posted which was:
the lighting is just the sun- there is almost no photoshop done. curious to see where it goes.

i'm thankful for the sunlight,
and the clothing on my back.
i'm thankful for my husband,
(and yes i do mean that).
i'm thankful for my children,
that i get to watch them grow.
i'm thankful for the days gone by,
and for things i've come to know.
i'm thankful for my home
and for the roof above my head,
i'm thankful for dirty dishes,
that mean my family's been fed.
this was my first attempt at animation.
as i had very little idea what i was doing, i went at it old-school style using paint and windows live movie maker (which doesn't offer much by way of audio mixing, so my apologies there). a bit time consuming, but i think it worked.
now, i will probably stick to photography, editing and writing, but for what it's worth, this was kinda fun :)
use it for what you will!
from a photo shoot a friend and i did for her show that is opening in two weeks (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cabaret-Nights/404550809641520 :)) - adding it here for whatever use it might be in REmix inspiration :) (and because i miss hitting the big red buttin on my screen!)
