Well - ONE YEAR. AROUND HERE :-) I joined in the early hours of December 25th, 2010. However, if you check "joined", it will show - half the time - 24th and the other half - 25th. So... Blah! MERRY CHRISTMAS, y'all!!! (I won't be here tomorrow)

PS: I know I spelled "achievable" wrong. I wrote it forever ago and I've had it ever since...couldn't bear to replace it, even with corrected spelling. :D It's my daily prayer.

I did the same REmix I did for the HRradio logo, but I change the dial to be tunned to 11.11 as per Todd's request :)

That is my line up above but feel free to add your own or help me make this picture better! I drew this with colored pencils and I had no idea what I was doing because I usually paint, actually. I am forced to abandon painting for the time being. Eventually, I will do some paintings when I can and post those too. But I think it turned out ok ...

Story behind the picture I drew: Yesterday, someone told me to not "get my hopes up". I am sick of hearing this from people. My Doctor told me the same thing just last week. Just not in those exact words ... Well, I am not faulting him because he was telling the truth. But someone told me not to get my hopes up on my dreams. And that is just a no no ... This is my response to all those nay sayers out there.

New version featuring a voice over, ambient sound effects, a subtle musical score, Christmas lights in the winter sequence, a new establishing shot of the kite at the beginning, and a cameo by Santa and his reindeer.

Winter morning in South of France

I was searching for some samples to just play around with, and Ryan Patrick suggested this beautiful recording of Metafictionist singing "Dans Un Bois Solitaire."  So I started glitching it a bit, testing it out, seeing what we could do.  This RECord (1.1) contains some sample glitches/arrangement, followed by beat samples without vox, followed by acapella vox glitches.  I'd love to see some things added, even different drums, instruments and vocals layered in.  I'm really open to letting this one organically develop.  Let's see where this one goes!  (PS: I read up on my translations from the French and I tried to glitch in appropriate ways...but if I jacked something up in French, please let me know so I can try something new.)

The rhyming creation myth by wirrow and Metaphorest.  I tweaked the words just a little, and my draft of the text is resourced below.  And here I recorded a reading of it.  There's already been lots of great readings of this poem, and I hope there are more to come.  I think it might be cool to mix a grand multitude of voices together to tell this story.

The next thing that probably ought to happen is for visual artists to start drawing specific parts.  Pick a stanza you like, or even just one line and turn it into any sort of image.  Maybe pretty soon we could have a bit of a storybook slideshow going, which is usually an important step in big animation projects.

If you want to play the orchestra part with the piano track, you can, just take measures 5-12 (the main melody) and play them at half time, so quarters become eighths, and so forth. Do the same with the melody at the end (mm 27 -36). All the other measures are aligned...

So, I’ll start working on that straightway. And Day, it’s not merely the mic or music, it’s your superb writing and performance... ...Now about Strawberry Orchestrated. 

I listened to Strawberry last night before I went to bed and when I woke up I knew what I wanted to do with the orchestra. This was before I read that Joe want’s it orchestrated. So, I will warn you that the timing is quite different from the piano version. It doesn’t sync to Day’s performance in the same way, as I took the liberty of a conductor, changing the paces to serve the melodies. Besides, I think the piano works best for Day’s monologue anyway, as it doesn’t get in the way. The orchestra version would be in the same movie, but different a scene? I could get it to sync, but it would take some time... maybe I’d thin it out too, so its not as dominant.  Thoughts?

Either way, Jo. I haven’t seen the MMM movie. But Imma check out. You wouldn’t happen to have a direct link (I’m still learning to navigate hitrecord.com)?

I've been meaning to show my mom GarageBand for a long time.  When we were hanging out on my birthday a few nights ago, it seemed a good time.  We made a little ditty.  Then Major Tom made this great stop-motion animation to it, which I just cut up a bit, et voilà.

When my mom and I sat down to RECord something, we didn't know what story we were going to tell.  We just sang a little something.  And now it's turned into this.  I love when that happens.
