Like I said, i'm just so hoppy. =] And lol my video just ends abruptly.
lalalalaa I made this when i was tired to the extreme so i say alot of stuff that doesnt make sense probabababably but yeaaaah
This is a short film/stop animation I made with the help of my friend. I think it would be really cool if someone contributed some sort of voice over. I originally intended it to be for the Love collab but I think it works for Independence as well. It's about a lonely, shy girl who finds her strengths in her imagination and throws herself into her writing (thus the paper girl made of words) but she's still lonely, and then she meets someone else like her. I guess it's about love as a connection of imagination, meeting someone on a more abstract level. Anyway, whatever your interpretation, have at it! I've spent several days on this and I need a break.
I love EmmaConner's 'Waiting' Collab and album, so I asked the lovely Phenomenaaa if she could find inspiration for a poem from it.
She's written the most amazing piece, which Pamagotchi then recorded as a voice over.
This is the video that incorporates all of these, using footage I filmed yesterday as well as LizSmall's beautiful stoic footage.
All set to Pasiv's haunting score.

i had so much fun preparing this / making this / setting this up.
i wanted to show some of the great work that has been produced, but also not give too much away. i didn't particularly describe any of the work on the walls because i feel that it will intrigue people more and let them come to the site and discover this world on their own. i tried to keep it as simplified as possible, but still with a lot to look at. and it has indeed been capturing people's attention. we've had sold out shows so far this weekend and everyone has been stopping and looking/reading/watching. it's really quite exciting.
the idea with the linked resources was kind of just to give an impression of how many different people and ideas make one thing. and that really it is always on going.
the projections run on loop the entire time the cinema is open. and with the changing of light throughout the day the colours and visuals change too.
every piece on the wall has a tiny label with the name of the record and the collaborators user name, so they can be looked up.
i hope i've done us hitrecorders proud and that you all enjoy this...and if you live nearby then please ome and see it!
love <3
One of the things that I think of when I think of independence is my ability to just "up and go"...to travel to places both near and far - whatever suits me. There is something so freeing about exploring and discovering things, and I actually love to travel on my own, and soak things in at my own pace. These are photos of my different explorations. The song accompanying it is called "A Perfect Memory of and Endless Day" by Ryan Cohen and was used with his permission.

So, Joe wanted a shorter version.
And... I kinda like it better anyway. So.. :D
Good call!
scraps that come into my head, while not on my own laptop!
more than 230 post-its used. cleaner logo than v1.the blinking red rec isn't as smooth tho. i'm thinking of doing a couple more of these with different transitions, effects, and audio. feel free to resource/remix!
Some times this is how everyone feels. Like the days repeat themselves. So heres to changing it up a bit.
So I don't have a good camera but I thought I'd upload this small bit of footage in case anyone could use it for REmixing.
Mackerricher State Park - Fort Bragg, CA 19November2011
A video for phenomenaaa's lovely poem. Just playing/practicing with editing...I know this came out small, I still have to figure out how to convert certain videos. :)
me talking about stuff..
My (ACTUAL) Contribution for City Autopsy.
I guess it's my homage to Ira Glass & This American Life. I tried to give an honest portrayl of my neighborhood.
I'm not sure how I feel about this cut yet. Maybe I'll go back to it and change some words or cut it in half, timewise... i guess i'll wait to see how this collaboration evolves.
PS. what a day of trying to get this uploaded. I feel like it took longer to get the right version on the internet than it did to edit and shoot the thing... pffffffff im spent.
