i keep seeing RECords that i want to remix and dont have a chance right then and i loose track of them. this is an album to keep things that hold potential inspiration for further pieces for me and that i want to remix into something eventually.

A month and 3 days overdue, I finally carved out time to sit and make the lovely Mrs.Tibbs23 her (not-so) secret santa gift. A thousand apologies for the lateness <333.
Most of my remixes are picking out a line from something that resonates with me and then making something with it. For me, most of my creativity strikes in loneliness, surrounded by my thoughts & unplugged.

This was inspired by halfreal's story 'Centered' and her challenge. This popped into my head the first time I read it and I ran with it. :)
PS Hello, halfreal! This is still for you! The little girl in the drawing is based on the girl in your profile picture. Thanks for the challenge. :D

In what ways can you use random conversations to inspire your art, designs, and music?
I often find myself catching bits and pieces of conversations everywhere I go. I decided to take these random occurrences a step further and actually try to listen to what these complete strangers had to say. I chose similar locations and made it my mission to go to several coffee shops and listen to unsuspecting people converse.
I photographed the area I was in at each place and chose a quote that I felt stood out the most to go along with the photograph. I gave each person or group of people a title that suited them whether it was by occupation or what they were talking about.
I was usually unable to see the faces of these people and at times could barely hear what they were saying. The world around us is an interesting place and you never know what little things you may overhear that can drive an idea.
So, the next time you're out in a crowded place just listen.

Hello fellow hitRECorders, I have this idea and I'd like to know what you think because you're all awesome creative. Leave some comments and take a look at the links presented. |

So I had some feelings this evening and happened to be sitting in front of the computer when they happened. I thought of lizsmalls' Emotions collab and decided to record my emotions with my computer cam. There are some good moments in here that editors might possibly use. There's no sound. I could upload a version with sound (I am actually crying), but I hate listening to that, so I'll put it on my "If you need it, just ask..." list.
And I just wanna say that I love this collab. I think it's produced so many cool and usable video records for the editors on this site. It's also great for people with clown faces like mine, where every emotion ends up right on your face!
(…with more vocals, drums, percussion and horns! More stuff starts at 1.12!)
It's really hard to believe how far this song has come from where it started. You guys have uploaded so many amazing contributions, I never could have imagined this song would grow up this big!
While listening this song (which I have done quite many times lately!) I remember again and again why I love hitRECord. It all starts from that simple piano, and in the end it's something huge. It's unbelievable how so many people from all around the world are able to work together and create something big like this. I guess I could say "thank you internet!" but all this couldn't happen on any other website. So I say THANK YOU hitRECord!!!
I don't know if this is all done yet (when something is uploaded on hitRECord it’s never all done, anything can happen! And we’re still missing the tuba for example! :D), but I won't have that much time to work with this in a while so I thought I'd show you guys what we've got so far! Please, feel free to say what you think, does it need something more or something less, contribute your stuff and make your mix! And of course this is (obviously) just a rough mix! :)
I've listed all the resources, everything you hear on this track you can find from there (please let me know if I forgot to add someone!) I couldn’t possibly make every contribution fit into this mix, but I truly appreciate every single one of them, and I’m really thankful to everyone who spent their time on this!
"so here's to you this one last time"... THANK YOU! <3
p.s. that one final "so" at 3.26… the harmony… ahhh…

Hopefully this may inspire a story and/or song and/or film. I made it as an illustration to go along with my contribution to the 10min writing challenge #7 - CLEAN: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/883259
All of the material I used is in the public domain from a free stock photo website.
*I'm new to hitRECord, so I am a little unfamiliar here, but I am looking forward to collaborating more soon! :)
CALLING ALL ARTISTS: Let's start making art together around the theme of OUTSIDERS! This theme's all about the outlaws, the outliers, and the odd ones out that march to the beat of their own drummer.
What is it that makes people want to do things differently? How do outsiders help change the status quo? Can you be popular and an outsider at the same time?
These are all things to consider as we take this theme of Outsiders & create art together on hitRECord!
==
You can contribute your RE: OUTSIDERS records to the collaboration here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/912627
==
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
EVERYONE: You could RECord yourself talking into a camera about your thoughts regarding Outsiders and upload your video to hitRECord.
WRITERS: Write a story or an essay.
ILLUSTRATORS: Draw a picture.
MUSICIANS: Make a song.
VIDEO EDITORS: Take footage from hitRECord and cut together a short film.
ANIMATORS: Put a series of images into motion.
CURATORS: Go through all the different records in the collaboration and make an Album of all the stuff that you think is good.

We're going to be doing a mini tour of our Live Shows this autumn so everything we're working on at hitRECord has the potential to screen at one of our shows, or be included in one of our works of publishing, or end up on a vinyl record we make together.
All profits get split with the contributing artists 50/50 on hitRECord.
And, as you may or may not know, we recently announced a really cool partnership with Levi's®. They are going to support our upcoming tour, distribute some of our videos across the Internet, and they're going to help us pay our contributing artists way more than we've ever been able to before!

Thanks Again!

This is the beat I made on the train while listening to the train bell rhythm that EldreddWolf was RECording at the same time on our way from NYC to Philly, via Amtrak, to the HitRECord On The Road show.
I included his RECording to match it up.
I included my own RECording of the train as well, which I can upload if anyone wants to use it, along with the isolated beat as well.
Happy REmixing!
Robo J
came up with this little tune to Jordyn's poem.
REmixed it with two other text RECords (by Emma Conner & booferftw) relating to "The Road"
just guitar and voice here, so there's room for REmixing

neighborhood of F major
Go forth, for the road is out there waiting.
Gather your belongings and don’t look back.
Adventure is there, yours for the taking.
Foot on the gas, there’s no need for breaking.
Drive as far as you can till fuel you lack.
Go forth, for the road is out there waiting.
Wear down your shoes till your feet are aching.
Then keep running with the wind at your back.
Adventure is there, yours for the taking.
Time here is a story in the making.
You have freedom to veer slightly off track.
Go forth, for the road is out there waiting.
There's still time to get off the road you are on,
To turn around and walk back the way you came.
Just be sure to cherish every sunrise and set,
Never lost, haven't reached the destination yet
The blacktop calls you, endless and snaking.
Answer the summons and take your life back.
Go forth, for the road is out there waiting.
Adventure is there, yours for the taking.

this tiny drawing is in desperate need of a tiny story, the one above is just totally uncreative.. at least that's what I think.
PS.
please excuse my laziness to draw an actual tiny tune on her stream of tears that would complement the drawing, since i just drew a bunch of random notes. it would be amaaaaaazing if someone actually remixed this doing so!
happy hitRECording, loves!<3
Hey all!! Been a while since I jumped in the record pool. Sorry who knows where the time goes.
This is something I shot with a buddy when we found this abandon school. I have more footage but just wanted to throw this together to see what ya thought. We're gonna go back and do something a little more thought out soon. Would love for someone to write and story, or give any ideas where to take a narritave.
I love this charcter!
Miss all of you Recorders!!
Much love from the Clown world.
P.s for some reason when I uploaded it. It cut the frame. It should be wider!
This beautiful song by Metaphorest has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it... I started doing this remix over a week ago and now I finally had time to finish it! I added the piano, vocal harmonies and a little something with my new best friend: an old cheap accordion I bought last week! :D
I really tried not to add too much... the original version of the song is so haunting it doesn't really need instruments, but I wanted to give it a try! Please go check out the original!!
Enjoy <3
I made a tiny tune out of "Green" by Ppeppina. It’s such a beautiful instrumental
I would love to see an animation made from this. I think the instrumental would work perfect with a stop motion style. I imagine a person painting a room to look like blue sky and grass, and then sitting in the middle of the room as a tree begins to grow from the center. Cant wait to see what ideas come from this, if any. I at least hope you enjoy the song :)
Thank you!
Tiny Story:
"Inside/Outside (Green)"
I painted the walls in a windowless room
With a beautiful blue sky over lovely green grass
An indoor vision of an outdoor dream
Ending with a sprout revealing itself to me
"you're starting to forget just how free and powerful you really are"
"forget" is blurred to signify the blurriness in our memories when they start to fade away.
"just how free" breaks away from the conventional straight lines.
"powerful" is bold and red.
"you really are" is full of individual dots and colors to signify the many individual 'you's.
"give me all the flickering lights
from one lover to another
give me all the flickering lights
from this lover to the other
give me all the flickering lights
illuminate my soul, my eyes
give me all the flickering lights
illuminate my heart inside."
