Okay, getting back into re-REC mode here and following themetafictionist's guidelines. Hence, my first reREC:
1) "How to Re-REC!" by themetafictionist
- Let me start by saying that I began reREC-ing off on the collection/compilation-album route sharing tons of RECords that I hearted that week, and I personally don't think there is anything "wrong" with that. I still enjoy finding random RECords through members' who continue to do that kind of reREC work; it is like speed-reading through another members' hearts. That said though, I thought that themetafictionist had a lot of great points and guidelines in this video for making more poignant and powerful reRECs. reRECs that can be consumed faster with more potential to move other members into action as well as giving feedback to the members who's work you enjoy. Those aspects made me reevaluate my reRECs style.
2) "Aquarius ~ The Water Bearer" by illustration.poetry
- A brand new hitRECord member - WELCOME! - with beautifully mastered illustrations. I love your style; the use of texture, the mix of faint and bold colors, and the over all whimsical nature of the content. <3
3/4) "she married a rat @ Saint Paul Cathedral (sojushots & spitecookie REmix)" by adhgraphicdesign
- As always, adhgraphicdesign brought together an adventurous reMIX that brings a new level of storytelling to two otherwise disjointed pieces. This could easily become a clever Tiny Story, but it also has potential for a bigger story/animation. reREC and love also for sojushots characters, they are screaming to be animated.
5/6) "Yes, We're Sinking" by marcellepallais
- This could be a great resource for further reMIXing, yes, but I think it is gorgeous as a stand alone piece. It is powerful and vulnerable. I can relate to it, and I adore it. Eaneikciv's beautiful track has inspired another wonderful RECord, so a huge heart her way again as well.
7) "Purposefully blank." by 12.42
- I had to reREC to call attention to 12.42's awesome sense of humor and random reMIX. I laughed when I first saw it, and keep thinking about it. Subtle, simple and strong. Well done.
8) "Protest for the Jelly Babies!" by fabulouslyfreckled
- This is a great photo! I love that DianeFT's protest signs were used (great reMIXing.) A really playful image and great resource contribution to the Jelly Babies collaboration.
9/10) "Red Hood; Sharp Teeth" by Flockofwords -
As an narrative illustrator/animator on the site, I am always drawn to text with strong storytelling. This is a great writing piece by Flockofwords that is full of imagery and animation potential. A couple of people have already recorded vocal/readings of the text, and Unusual Suspect did a fantastic reMIX with her own illustrations. I would love to see more people jump on board to take this piece even further.
Okay, those are my reRECs for this week. Next week, I may dive into the realm of making a video of myself presenting my reRECs… but I do get video shy, so we will see. ;^)

Since we're still having some problems with the dashboard and recommendations page, I think that making re-recommendation albums and videos have become even more important than usual because they're a great way for us to find records we may have missed.
I thought I'd make a tutorial explaining some of the nuts and bolts of re-RECing in general, and then talk about how I make my re-REC vids.
Hope this is helpful!
Eaneikciv's beautiful track, totally moved me to take time out of my day and complete the images I saw in my head when I heard the song.
I don't necessarily think I'm adding or moving a collaboration with this. because it seems pretty finalized, but Im certainly adding a bunch of free footage, that i think could be applied to a lot (remember to recommend and resource)
I heard the song, not really as a love song, as how the sundance short ended up, but it kinda hit me because I've dealt with panic disorder for awhile, and there are those moments where you are just relaxing and those thouhghts creep in, and you just feel like you can't hear anything, like you are underwater and all you want to do is relax and enjoy yourself, but your body is saying no. it can be very frustrating. And "we're sinking" is totally how it feels. I wouldn't say I have it as bad as others, but I've had some easier times and some harder times. It's always been important to me to take deep breaths and try to move on when its over and not linger in it. I hope you like..
I re-recorded this song last month sometime now that my piano is in tune, but never posted it because I'm still not totally in love with the way it ended up sounding. Anyway, I would love love LOVE for this song to be remixed or even started over from scratch. I tried to pay more attention to my timing and everything this time so it will be easier for anyone that wants to add to it. If you're interested, let me know and I'll upload the stems. I really want to take this song to a whole other world, more voices, more ambient sounds, more more more! I want the "ooo" section to sound heavenly, so if you have any ideas, please share! Chords: Verses: C Am Em C Am Em C Am Em F G Oohs: C Em (a million times) and at the end it's F Em Am then another verse and end in C

I loved this story by Flockofwords and was so inspired that I started illustrating parts of it and after a while I thought that I might try doing the whole thing, even if it came out a little rough.
I am no animator so it is really just my still images to Flockofwords excellent voiceover. You have been warned. I'm not sure if it needs music but it at least may need sound effects.
Damn, I'm nearly out of ink drawing pens.
