All hearts given for this week. As usual, please let me know about anything you want me to see or respond to here as this is the only place I will keep on checking with the dashboards not working.
This is for thedustdancestoo's lovely poem, which is quite an apt description of many of my noctunral wanderings.
I'm planning on making this into a shadow box, but in my experience shadow boxes don't photograph/scan quite so well, so thought I'd upload a scan of the layers before I put it together. :-)

A quick sketch for fun!
Happy Valentine's Day! <3
(Sometimes I just love hanging with my 4year old niece Gabrielle. Big thanks to her. Please check out some others in the resource.)
There once was a boy named Skip.
He loved to skip rocks; but he didn't have any friends.
The rocks were(was) his friends.
One day he skipped a rock really far!
He heard a loud noise.
"Ow!!"
"What was that?!" said Skip.
"It was me!!"
"Who?!!"
"My name is Bobby and you hit me with a rock!!"
Bobby was a Sea Turtle and he was mad.
"Why did you hit me?!!"
"I'm sorry Bobby! I just love to skip rocks."
"Skipping rocks? I used to skip rocks when I was a wee Turtle!"
"Really?!!"
"Yes I did!!"
"Will you skip rocks with me?!"
"Well of course!!"
Skip was so happy, he hadn't smiled this big in a long time.
He wasn't just a lonely boy skipping rocks.
He had a real friend; and they skipped rocks every day!
The end!
Goodbye! :)
Yesterday themetafictionist and I wandered around my hometown of Titusville, Florida. This is what we saw.
Also... I'm not sure what that weird pixelation splat is at 1:14 is.

An illustration for Independence, based on my idea that the caterpillar experiences the greatest form of independence. The caterpillar is stuck to the ground, the trees, the plants...when it transforms and emerges from its coccoon it is free to go wherever it wants.
Watercolour, ink and Photoshop CS4
Like I said on the first RECord (without background): I couldn't help myself, I just had to get in on all the "Eat You Monster" fun! My reMIX in Vector Illustration.

TEXT
your crochet heart listens soft, dear
the sweet songs you sing are all i hear
your binding inner warmth is all i need, dear
my love, i believe i need you here.
for i had no friends as a child, dear
i skipped rocks in the pond where the water is clear
since then i've waited for you, dear
i've patiently waited to bring you here.
i close my frigid eyes, dear
let the cold wind freeze my every fear
my warmth will keep you living, dear
my loveless death is growing near.
here i am, in heaven, dear.
i'll save a seat for you up here.

I just was not feel re-recs this week, you guys. I don't know. I'll be back next week, but in the meantime, I needed me some strange. So I decided to discuss bad advice. I'm aware this is kind of not the point of Marke's collab, but what can I say, I felt that two of my greatest talents - sarcastic ranting and ignoring instructions - were not being showcased to their full extent.
A remix of some of the jelly babies massacre, etc. RECords by lidan, christinwashere and fabulouslyfreckled, turned into a short and very simple "protest film" supposedly from the Jelly Baby Rescue Front (maybe they hacked into the Jelly Land network systems - or something like that - for a short transmission...).
Note: I guess Swift meant "humble" when using the word "modest", but I interpreted it for the film as "decent".
It still needs some tweaking and audio!

Instead of loading ALL of my green pics, I made a quick movie. All of these were created using ArtMatic software.
The music is called "The Others".
I realize that things go by a little fast. If anyone wants one of yje pics by itself let me know.
I was trying to imagine in my mind how the world of the Jelly babies would it be!!! and well, of course, the first thing is that they for sure live in a world full of colors, with amazing sunsets, in Jellyland you can find another candies and of course you can eat them, also in jellyland we can find all the different kind of Jelly babies, they are a community, so I hope you like this magical place as much as I do!
For me, this represents a big fat F. As in fail. But I assure you I deserve an A for effort! This tiny eeny weeny distillation comes on the heels of a dedicated folding session, using adhgraphicdesign's beautiful background patterns as inspiration, followed by a massive, meandering walk with my five-year-old son, Lucius, in an effort to set the scene and film the film. However, technology has sadly got the better of me in this equation and so this is my humble offering. I cross my heart that I will, at the very least, release some more of the footage that was destined to be part of this once I've solved my computeresque problems. In the meantime, I hope you have/have had/are in the process of having a lovely Valentine's celebration (or anti-celebration), Amber. All my best wishes. x Lara x

I was actually planning on doing something quite different with this song, but I happened to be listening to it today while browsing hitRECord, and the images of rennamix's "Life, Death, and Life" video seemed to fit so perfectly with Johnnyclyde's "Whisper Dreams" music that I had to combine them together. It makes the video a bit sad, I'm afraid, but I thought the result was rather beautiful.
happy valentines day, naivecrimson!! apologies if it's already feb 15th in your corner of the world :( but i do hope you like it :) i realise this isn't traditionally lovey valentines stuff.. but i loooove love LOOOVE your "unmoved" text. it felt like a love story to me. teehee!! hope you're having the most wonderful of wonderful days :D

I love eaneikciv's song for the tiny story "Once Upon a Balloon" ....
Hi guys! Well, this is my second collaboration for the Hispanic Collab, this is my second favorite poem of the Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario, To Margarita, marcelle talked about it in a video and I decided to make the same thing that I did for Los Motivos del Lobo, I add a VO, some music (by the amazing fleurdelys) and some visuals, every single Illustration is made by me (The only one that is not mine is the one that I used for the first frame and the last one, this was made by: moodyblues), and also I add the translation in enlish so you all can understand what I am saying :) I also have to say that even when I did every illustration was inspired to draw the princess thanks to a drawing made by Consh named Princess! I hope you like it guys!
Gabs
PS: All the poems and Dario's work, is Public Domain!
Just a high res stock video of a jewelery box ballerina dancing to 'London Bridge is Falling Down'
Ran outside real fast to grab these birds on camera. I was gunna make a little film with my pup, but, they flew away.
So maybe you can use this for something.
These birds come around the same time every year down here in The Lone Star State.
With the help of lidan and her tripod, I redid my stop motion for make-up sex!

When it’s not freezing winter here, when not all trees are bare and covered in snow, there’s a gorgeous view from my back window over our green park area that is surrounded by 3 apartment buildings.
During the warmer seasons there was also a homeless man sitting on a bench all day everyday, quietly minding his own business.
His loud drinking buddies made a visit sometimes, fighting with everyone who passed by, but usually it was just him, alone.
A middle-aged woman from the neighbouring building used to bring him food. I could tell it was always the same person as she’s easily recognisable by her big fur coat. She never spent more than a few seconds with him, and their brief conversations seemed more like arguments rather than chats, but this also made me wonder whether they’d known each other from before or they’d only met through her good deeds. But either way, I guess he was one of the luckier ones.
Now the place is empty and many things can be discovered from under the snow that can tell a story – whomever they belong to.

Hey, composers! i'd love to see what you can do with this little track i made. It's a little messy... but you get the idea (:
I wrote and recorded this song with my brother way back in 1980, our first multitrack ever. I think it is pretty darn appropriate to contribute to this site, just look at that damn title!
So this video is actually based on 12.42 awesome remix "Why i love HitRECord", evolution of a record :)
It's about creative process, making remixes, about hitrecord, etc.
For all the amazing people here on hitrecord, and
Happy Birthday Joe!
P.S. I don't like to cut music, but it's 5 min long, so I had to. It is really really great, by megancarnes, and you should listen to it from the beginning to the end.
