Contributions entirely cut by me.
Mostly Shot by me.
& Remixes.
My (ACTUAL) Contribution for City Autopsy.
I guess it's my homage to Ira Glass & This American Life. I tried to give an honest portrayl of my neighborhood.
I'm not sure how I feel about this cut yet. Maybe I'll go back to it and change some words or cut it in half, timewise... i guess i'll wait to see how this collaboration evolves.
PS. what a day of trying to get this uploaded. I feel like it took longer to get the right version on the internet than it did to edit and shoot the thing... pffffffff im spent.
So, love love the remix Roboj did of Ravens. Loved the video that tagooey cut to it using a bunch of my footage. Love the original song by metaphorest and is that albert singing along as the dude?(morning hallows!!!)
Love.
All the talk about feminism and femininity lately and women's rights and what it is to be a woman ... got me thinking. I probably shot 3 different versions of this, and the putting it together was only indicitive of what it was after i shot it. As it is when you shoot/are in something. I did one take with full make up, and then another more masucline coloring. I often have played male roles, almost as many roles as I've played as a female. One side of my face looks more feminine the other half looks more masculine, as i've noticed from getting my picture taken for a job.
I think when we are young women we take on this more masculine role to protect ourselves, when we become mothers we soften, and experience our femininity in true form. I also think that in context with this song, this confusion amoung young women is a balance, it can confuse us and sadden us and leave us feeling all alone, lost in our gender.
The male and female voices in this song, work so beautifully together. I attempted to sing along to the man parts for the masucline version and the main part for the feminine version. thats why the mouth is all over the place.
I feel like its always a balance, with depression and with gender. We always have to figure out our own balance.
When i layed the two over one another, i really liked the dimension it created. So i took the task of key framing every other frame.. it was like.. finger breaking work. Was thinking of uploading the raw files separated in a zip folder if requested. I'll do it if you ask or If I'm bored one day.
So i guess for now, i'm all about recording myself doing something on camera and cutting it to music and uploading it now.... its'cool. I'm cool with that. its fun for me, and maybe you can use it.
Eaneikciv's beautiful track, totally moved me to take time out of my day and complete the images I saw in my head when I heard the song.
I don't necessarily think I'm adding or moving a collaboration with this. because it seems pretty finalized, but Im certainly adding a bunch of free footage, that i think could be applied to a lot (remember to recommend and resource)
I heard the song, not really as a love song, as how the sundance short ended up, but it kinda hit me because I've dealt with panic disorder for awhile, and there are those moments where you are just relaxing and those thouhghts creep in, and you just feel like you can't hear anything, like you are underwater and all you want to do is relax and enjoy yourself, but your body is saying no. it can be very frustrating. And "we're sinking" is totally how it feels. I wouldn't say I have it as bad as others, but I've had some easier times and some harder times. It's always been important to me to take deep breaths and try to move on when its over and not linger in it. I hope you like..
shot some test footage yesterday. I won't be using any of this, but I thought it would be worth it to upload here. who doesn't love a robotic uh.. un-strip tease?
my favorite thing I shot when I was down there.
ALL DAY ALL WEEK!
Alright, so we are all about remixing the remix here right? What good is a story if you can't smash it up into bits, every once in a while?
I won't get too wordy, but to me this goes along with the retelling Joe wrote, because its all about giving Red more to do. In my version the typcial "Red" vs "Stronger and much more capable red", Its about women taking control of the stories around them that are supposed to represent them. We don't want to see the Ditzy, empty headed Red, we want to see an ass kicking, maybe even a little scary red. Honestly, I mean she does gut a wolf from the inside right?
This all started with MJ3000's track, bantering with filmpunk, and inspiration by the lack of quality footage from the live shows and my need for wide, mid and close-up shots with all the coverage in the world. Sorry live show actors, you were great, Joe was just standing in front of you the whole time... ha ALSO, sean lennon and whoever the grandmother was, thanks for having interesting voices!
I am also adding this to the Independence Collab, because I feel my version represents a sort of independence from typical female roles as an actor, and my little production company's name is Independence Productions.
based on RegularJoe's retelling. Set, costumes, audio mix, directed, edited by me and my ADP was my friend and you can check his art out at www.milkofparadise.com . You should go look, i yelled at him a lot while we were doing this, very hard to direct in front of the camera, i found.
OO!!! some press! http://meandmyopinion.com/post/15723523656/marcelle-hits-record-do-you follow on tumblr and while your at it follow www.meinmyplace.com too , you might recognize someone. **OMGosh thanks for all the hits! I love mimp fans! I think most number of #non hitrecorders in a day on my videos at least by leaps and bounds.. ha

Video portrait of my cat. She's a lazy dreamer.
When first watching the footage Cam released, I didn't really know what he was getting at. It was too much footage for me to want to touch. After his cut came out of Departures, which was dope, I got what he was trying to do. With that, I did a recut working from his Raw .mp4 footage because as dope as it was, there were parts that I just wanted to tweak, on 2nd and 3rd watching.
I tried to make all the stuff I thought should be quicker, quicker and all the stuff I thought should be more drawn out, I drew out.
Only so much I can do working from .mp4, but this project is so wide open using this footage, that I know it will change a lot. Cameron really put together something that a lot of people could make something for. I think my original dissatisfaction with departures previous, is that the grainy audio recording of the original didn't really speak to me, and I was hoping that down the line that would be re-recorded and make put to other music or I dunno?? Would be awesome if Serpent Charmer re read the text with no audio backing or anyone else. I know ManwithaHat has a really awesome noir voice, because he did my "anglerpod waits" video in '10. Don't know if he is still around though. Anyway, Cam eliminated that problem by the new score which is really fun.
I wanted to see what I could do with it, not totally happy, but not bummed at all.

I was really interested in playing with shadows, today was my first introduction to Shadow Caste and I haven't nearly read all of the text about everything, but I was thinking about Fauxbeams which are man made shadows and man made shadows are my favorite shadows because they are probably a little dangerous and a little exciting.
And asking, Where would the fauxbeams go to see a good show? The back curtain of a night club maybe? I liked the idea of real people in the front but the fauxbeams went behind the curtain to watch the show.
I call it the club The Fauxmingo Club and I call her Fauxna Jay. Fauxna is a fauxb boss's girlfriend but she's actually a spy working for the FauxBI. She really just wants to be a house wife and bake huge turkeys on thanksgiving for her fauxband and her fauxdren. ok.. hahahahaha sorry.
I also have to admit that I just saw My Week With Marylin, and it made me go rewatch some like it hot and clips from Let's Make Love which has a lot of her performing. I started thinking about her life and how it progressed so I picked these public domain songs to go with the footage. I recommend My week... That paula strasberg...[the movie portrayed her as] an enabler. I got in a big fight with her about a teacher when I studied there.
On its own its just for my own fun, I figure if anyone wanted to take that night club idea and use this footage, go for it.. or maybe it will get used for some random thing.. a la hitrecord

I bet there was music I could have used on hitrecord, but I couldn't find the right thing. I wish we would tag things with the decades they sounded like. or the word retro or something
I just love that damn sonic commercial with that really cheesey song "We Are Young".. i cut this to that song, was going to upload it to youtube.. but apparently i am breaking a law or some stupid bull crap. Fuck youtube.Didn't know awesomeness was a crime...
Anyway I had a lot of fun making this, and got a little drunk too.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (still drunk?)
(if you have the song, play it with the video, the song starts 6 seconds in... no one is doing that....it's okay, ill be fine)

I wanted to take this piece by theserpentthecharmer away slightly from what the reader immediately thinks this text might look like or be like, and weight it in my idea of the storyteller's perspective. this is a first draft, might get funky with it later. I wanted to leave it bare bones, in case remixing by others was wanted. i think the text has so many possibilities. i did make a few little edits in the VO, just to balance my storyline.
I thought this would b helpful for the people who want to work on Summer in the City promos who aren't in the city. its sped up obv. If someone needs it in real time, let me know and i'll upload it.
Guys, im begging you. if you use my footage, please recommend it. just hit that heart.
More nyc footage. I ride my bike from c.park to brooklyn a lot and usually I just speed like a mother fucker, but man, when you hit times sq, its just damn impossible, so i took out my camera and tried to shoot. mad bumpy roads, but it could work for something. use it.
Guys please, if you are going to resource this, just recommend. Its so easy.

This is basically Lucyfur's cut. I just fixed the audio a bit, because it was really getting rough with the background noises and i took out some air between sentences. NBD
Thanks to missamerica & g5ztop for being the basis for lucyfur's cut. good work to cameron and obviously liz is an angel.
this is my 200th record. Thought I'd do something I've never done before.
Chalk Bumper. Drawn out by my friend MILKOFPARADISE, who i just got to join this site, he's really excited to animate some jelly babies.
sorry these are .mp4s, i don't feel like mpeg stream clipping them for you. I found them hiding on my flip camera, thought id upload.
This is the first thing I've ever attempted to animate. It was fun and weird, and took me out of my comfort zone... key framing and whutevah. don't have photoshop, which im assuming would make this a lot easier.
how the heck to people do this? this took me like 2 hours. 10 seconds... cool marcelle. cool i probably did this so ass backwards
is it totally pointless to animate stuff in final cut? how do people usually animate these kinds of drawings?
Oh man, I've been dreaming of this shot for awhile. Went over to my friends to do a little gardening and did a video for her job, and then i set my tripod up and jumped. I'm going to do this again with a higher frame rate and some like fancy floaty clothes or some weird something, something soon.. who knows. ANY IDEAS of things you'd like to see jumping in mid air? So happy its warm out.
I like to post this kind of stuff, because you never know what people could remix this in/to
Loved this track that was featured by Mad_Dev, check out his stuff, its all pretty fun and different from the usual HR fodder.
maybe ill add this to liz's emotions collab - SO HAPPY/FREE BIRD emotion.

This is where Trollwood Arts School used to be. I went to visit the old location and walked around where the dance stage used to be. It's where i learned how to dance, basically. Was just messing about.
Pretty view though, eh?
