This is stock footage of my dog, Gelato, playing in a field. We walk about a mile to get there and then I let him off leash to run around and explore. He's part pug, part Italian Greyhound, so he likes to run and is pretty speedy. He also likes to jump. :-D

Anyway, I thought film editors might find some of this footage useful should they ever need an happy, roaming puppy

I know that hitRECord is an 'open-collaborative-production-company', but I sometimes think that title doesn't really sum up everything that hitRECord is about.  There are so many friends that I have made here, and I don't even want to wonder what life would be like if I hadn't joined or if, (god forbid) hitRECord didn't exist...

Orn, the master tenebrae

Just a little experiment I was trying to run; painting animals while making something about them seem a little....off.

I love this collab, THe shadows are just fantastic, and yesterday I made 2 remixes, this one if about the Shadows having a meeting in some enchanted forest, I hope you like it!!!

I love this character: The Tenebrae, so yesterday that I was looking to all the contributions in the shadow collab, I found this one named The Royallongray, so I was thinking that the Royallongray could be the hero that rescue to the little shadows from the evil Tenebrae, that's why I made this record, to try to show my idea, hope you like it!

So I only just discovered this Shadow Beings collab, and thought to myself – this story needs a bad guy! So here is one I just cooked up:

He is known only as THE TENEBRAE (Latin for “Darkness”) and comes from a rare cast of shadow many thought extinct. These ancient and powerful shadows were the first inhabitants of Umbra – the realm of the shadows. Driven mad by power, The Tenebrae conspired to rule Umbra and turn it’s inhabitants into slaves. However the Noondays, Longrays and Midlights all stood united and banished Tenebrae from Umbra, to live out the rest of his existence in the Human World… And there he has remained ever since, lurking in the darkness, haunting houses, scaring children, known in the Human world as – The Boogie Man… However, unknown to Umbra, he has been secretly building his own army of shadows cast from evil and corrupt humans, in order to wage a war on Umbra and all of it’s inhabitants.

I captured some stock footage of spinning rims this weekend. I really enjoyed the colors, so I uploaded it in case someone finds a use for it one day.

These are the shadows I dressed up for Fall Formal just collected together for the Shadow collab.

MattConley kindly suggested I challenge myself and try out some different voice characterizations when I do a VO for HR, rather than just recording one version. Anyway, there's so much amazing stuff going on with the Shadows project already, but I thought I'd just jump in anyway. So, this is just the first paragraph of the Prologue, read in ten different ways, each one a bit weirder than the last. Would love to hear back, especially from Attilee and Soupy, if any of these are remotely useful! Here goes:

1. Low, restrained, medium pace, 'normal'.

2. Slightly faster, less low, and more expressive.

3. Upbeat; slightly singsong. Faster, higher.

4. Expressive, fastest. Wide-eyed: kids' book/movie.

5. Low and slow like a wise wizard.

6. Slightly crazy professor.

7. Haunted vicar.

8. Wild-eyed gardener. (With apologies to everybody, from Plymouth to Poplar.)

9. Deranged schoolmaster.

10. Nasal ninny. (Best avoided altogether.)

Grr! There are so many musical projects that I've been meaning to work on (well, 4, if to be precise), but I currently don't have time for anything… So, against my better judgment, I've decided to post one (or two, we'll see) of my old, awkwardly recorded, ultra-unprofessional sounding 4-track demos in the meantime.

This is one of my earliest compositions. It was written and recorded 17 years ago. (Damn, that makes me feel SO FREAKIN' OLD! :O).

Looking back at Retro Radios Redux after ChristineNaderer included it in her reREC, I realized I never released my original version which was more realistically rendered. I put these on a transparent layer as well.

I chose to create this propaganda-style poster based upon stellarNELR's Bad Advice text since her statement sticks close to the Bad Advice theme and is also, unfortunately, true.

This is my second version of this piece. I changed up the bottom portion a bit so it went better with the color scheme. Also, some other tiny tweaks.

Whipped together a remix of Automator's "Collage Song v1."

Primary additions are bells, strings, piano notes, and rewind/fast forward effects. In some spots I played around with the transitions in tone and rearranged a few bits here and there.

Here's a beat I made a couple months back, and haven't really gotten around to putting anything down on it. So I need your creative juices and flavor on it, so I can get jumpstarted it and writing to it. Feel free to take in any direction you want to, and I'll follow and join in. Thanks a lot! Even as Herringbone seemed to peter out, the sketch I started for a quick shot of the narrator in a speakeasy kept haunting me. Very, very slowly I kept adding to it and fussing with it until I've finally gotten something I really love and think could be a good resource for other future animations.

So here's just the black and white outline, for a few reasons. One, better and more remixable resource. Two, if we waited until I finished coloring, it could take me another month. And three, I have no idea what kind of color scheme to put on this bad boy and am soliciting suggestions.

Hi guys! 2 days ago, I felt guilty of having trapped in jars to the poor little shadows, so I started to work on a new record, where they were going to be released, yesterday, when my remix: Collecting shadows was featured I felt even more guilty, and at facebook, talking to via, I told her that I was about to release them, so here it is, I am setting them free, because shadows don't belong to jars and don't deserve to be confined! don't you think??? anyway, thanks for all the support, hugs guys!!!!

So I wrote this song off site and although I can't upload the vocals I did for the song I can however put up the guitar track I did.

This has a lot of room for collaboration. You could sing over it and play pretty much any instrument over it.

The chords are C, G, Am, F with a capo on the fourth fret.

Sometimes the Tenebrae succeeds in capturing a shadow. He keeps them in a crude cage till he decides what to do with them. No one knows the location of the Tenebrae's lair and the captive shadows pray someone will come to rescue them...

this was just very a quick sketch shade job...I am not expecting this to be used or remixed or whatever...but kinda just came about as more of a concept that will hopefully spark others ideas. I was thinking about all the little shadow people and how the Tenebrae preys upon them. Sinnamin even has the Tenebrae holding the little shadows in a prison of sorts. So I got to thinking how the little shadows deserve to defend themselves.... I just drew them hiding in a cactus since the cactus is the most vicious (plant) around in my opinion. Plus I was just watering my own personal cactus :P  and stuck myself and boy did it hurt LOL.... but yeah i got to doodlin'. maybe some of you other HitRECorders can come up with some better ways for the little shadows to defend themselves against the Tenebrae with illustrations or whomever will take up the task of writing the storyline. The underdogs deserve to win in the end and defeat the Tenebrae!! or maybe think of some other shadow being that can come and rescue the lil' shadows from the Tenebrae's capture?

Maybe a rogue hero shadow being or Prince (This may be too fairytale-esque) that comes and saves his fair maiden gloam and her people from the wiles of the Tenebrae. I think it would be cute/funny to see the lil' shadows with some arsenal... maybe shooting shadow arrows Robin Hood style? haha. I dunno... but, I think collectively everyone could make it into an epic tale... if everyone wants to take it that far! just throwin' in my 5 cents and just sayin' =D

I love sojushots drawings and I love the shadows, so this is a remix that I made using both elements, Hope you all like this! :)

A fun song that I wrote, produced, and performed in my basement.  I think it would work well in a lot of mixes and I would love to hear what people do with this!

This is an original song that I wrote and performed called "Of The Sun." I wrote this in part because there is a history of winter depression in my family. I don't suffer from depression, however winter weather is one of my least favorite things. As such, this song is a call for the sun to come out again.

The music is something I arranged on GarageBand. I used two 8 measure bass samples, and one drum sample, and added Malicore's "Make-Up Sax" track.

Flockofwords describes a sixth caste of shadow beings, "The Fireflights", shadows cast by fire.

They are the most ancient of the shadows born when prehistoric man invented fire.

They are the guardians of the history of the shadows and the keepers of their secrets. The Fireflights were the original inhabitants of Umbra but were exiled by the Longrays

Maybe the Fireflights will team up with the cunning Tenebrae and terrorize the other shadow beings?

After reading Flockofwords' Shadowplay, this is how I envisioned the Fireflights. I gave them a flame-like appearance ;D
