This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as what I will be uploading in regards to this collab.

This could serve as an into to a doc; I certainly Roughly Cut it with that in mind.

In anything I do with OWS, i need to get beyond the Joe/JUST OWS movement story and get to why people even bothered starting a movement in the first place, because that is what is important. And it is important that you actually learn something from watching what I post, otherwise its just a lot of redundancy.

What went wrong? Who is actually to blame? What has changed? What can change? What hasn't changed?  How can we as a movement express our thoughts in a clear way? And what do we do from here...

I am hesistantly calling this wake up, usa because i feel like HOW DID WE NOT SEE THIS COMING... we just forgot to look up from our own shit and pay attention.. so now its time we pay attention, OK? ( personally i was 15 when george bush gave this speech, so maybe that's an excuse)

I am a documentary freak.  Thats literally all thats in my Netflix queue. I could watch docs about this stuff for hours. If anyone is interested I recommend the Frontline Documentaries (the warning, breaking the bank) on the banking industry and the federal reserve. I recommend The Big Buy(focusing on Tom Delay and the lobbyists), Collapse(this will scare the shit out of you, but really important), Client 9 (about spitzer but also about wall street), Outfoxed,... there are more, thats just off the top of my head.

I encourage those knowledgeable about this subject to video diary themselves or do interviews with your smart friends/parents talking about this whole shit show (whatever topic). Joe was really brave and he went up to strangers and he asked them questions. Not a ton of people did that, a few did, but not a ton. We could use more interviews with people who know what they are talking about.

For those of you, who wouldn't work on this collab because the subject matter is over your head, i encourage you to look into these matters. For my fellow citizens of the world, this is incredibly important and even though you are bombarded with information coming directly from corporations, I encourage you to look into this issue under independent and unbiased sources.

This speech, President Bush annoucning the Dream Act, is what made it easy to lend money to people that couldn't afford to buy homes , mostly minorities. Mortages (subprime) would be adjusted on the fixed rate according to what the home owner could pay at the signing of the deal, for example the fixed rate could be about 1400 a month, if based on their income thats what they could pay. After two years, it would switch to an adjustable rate which would sometimes mean  an increase to 2600 a month. they wouldn't be able to pay, they would default, then the banks bundled these shitty deals and wall street told people to invest in these shitty deals, and thats where it all came falling DOWN.AND EVERYBODY IN POWER, KNEW what they were doing, and either dismissive or arrogant to the results of their actions.

FACT: 80% of sub-prime mortages, the ones these guys were getting, were going to BLACK PEOPLE and LATINOS... even when their credit score was the same as their WHITE counterpart... 17% of all Sub-prime mortgages went to white people.

INEVITABLE, thats the word that comes to my mind as I look back on old footage and re learn these details. we all need to collectively wake the fuck up.

To me this speech is so scary. and i hate him. and i think he and cheney should be strung up in public for all to see. I think they are criminals against all humans. They FUCKED us all.
