oooooh kay. so here's the updated skeleton of pieces.

i've gotten a few submissions for this song, and they are kinda all over the place but monkeychow gave me a bass part the other day that's really got me thinking that combined with hedges clap track could be something fantastic!!

i REALLY dig the groovyness of these parts and i was hoping that if anyone else contributes they would keep this in mind for the song and i'm also hoping that iIlliterateWriter and michellek can write a piano and violin part to correspond with it. (:D pretty pretty please!)
.

i'm hoping i can throw this all together for another beautiful collab song and i really like where the claps and the bass line are taking it. (kinda a spanish feel, which being half Argentinean is a plus for me)

IT WOULD BE FREAKIN AMAZING if we could get some nylon stringed, spanish sounding rhythm guitar in this and if we could get a more creative double bass for the entire song instead of repeating the same line over and over. i would freak.

I'm so in love with the direction this is going and i can't wait for the finished product!
thank you to everyone who's working on this, it blows my mind how many talented people are on this site!

Lots of REmixing, layering, scratching, and sampling. Please add more to this.

I'd especially like to see some dialogue samples and additional sound effects to the arrangement. Who's up for it?!

Halloween is my Christmas. It always has been, for as long as I could understand what it was.

When I was a very wee lass, like back in the 70's, I lamented to my Dad that, while there were so many Christmas carols, there were no carols for my favorite holiday: Halloween. So my Dad, singer/songwriter that he was, decided to write and record one for me. Lyrics are by Jimmy and Judy Dee (my parents) and music is by Jimmy Dee. This is just a Halloween carol, and does nothing to showcase the amazing voice and range he had. But, please take this Halloween carol and enjoy it, do with it what you will. While my Dad did get some money from his records back in the 50s, 60s and 70s, (he was a Tin Pan Alley singer,) later on he mostly performed for various charities, and just for the joy he got out of performing and recording. My Dad's songs were meant to be listened to and he would have loved HitRECord. :D I hope someone out there will get a kick out of this adorable ode to Halloween. ^_^

[// I wanted to come up with another trilogy, but couldn't seem to figure out a good chord progression. Well that all changed with "the werewolf"'s basic beginning chords: I could easily do three different styles (well...different to me, I suppose) and somewhat have a through-line. While the other two aren't as blatant as this one about its werewolf narrative, I tried to make it as ambiguous as possible. How well that turned out, I'm not sure, but I love the shit out of this song. Man, that sounds pretentious, but I don't mean it to be. It was just fun to write and record. //]

there's something beautiful i don't understand
when i watched the bodies decompose

i could not hear your howl; the wind was wrapping around my heart
i wonder now if you would stay knowing i would always be the same
i wonder if it'd grow on you…

the winter's chill has no effect on me now
i know it's only temporary
and when i wake from my hibernation
i'll still smell the blood on my skin

i could not see you dancing under the harvest moon
i wonder now if i would have stayed had i known you'd change
i wonder if you'd grow on me

heaven wouldn't allow
your metamorphosis

Imagine a bunch of sideshow freaks performing a waltz for a crowd of sadistic, leering onlookers and you will understand exactly what I was going for when I wrote this. I've always wondered what this would be like with video footage or a photo or art series so if you have any ideas for collabs let me know! :)

Made with cinematic intent... for Alice....

I like editing video to a fun track, so I tried to make one here. However, I want to put it up for you first to have your way with. It is a whole different thing to edit music with the intent of cutting video to it. I've never really done it before. It's not as repetitious as regularjoe requested but it definitely is not a traditional verse chorus thang.

Much appreciation to jonthewallflower and his inspiration interpretations if you know what I'm saying.

Also, the drums are loops from garageband (royalty free I believe). But if there is any one who wants to drop some original beats on it Ill upload a beat less mix. 120bpm

I made this little piece for this other project that I'm doing but I liked the way this song turned out so I thought I'd share it and see if anyone else could do anything with it. :)

I'm working on a hip-hop theme to the fictionally insane Vincent McSuperfly, the rambunctious host of hitRECord's "REmix Theatre."

This is v1 of the beat. theboxset's "Buddy" has been heavily REmixed and I made room for several breaks where additional vocal samples will be added (including a "radio station identification" announcement.)

In the meantime, be on the lookout for the two McSuperfly "Haaaaaaa" samples. Those were fun to throw in to the mix.

Lyrics for the next stage of this track are in the works. I'll post what I have so far for verses.

Ok, so I made this track, added the drums, bass, guitars, but that's all i could do. My mind just stopped working. So I figured why not let other awesome hitRECorders do the rest?

So the track is called "The Secret". Its just a title I came up with while listening to it, we'll change it later on once its complete. Its made up of 4 layers.

1) Piano 1

2) Drums

3) Bass

4) Piano 2

Musicians:

Just listen to the track, and add ANYTHING you think suits the music. Guitars, synths, harmonicas, heavy electric guitars, harps, vocals, ANYTHING! Just make sure that when you add the new layer, release it as a RECord mixed with this track, but also as a seperate STEM so it can easily be mixed.

Check the STEMS of this track once they're uploaded. I've also included sheet music for both Piano's, cuz it'll just sound 100 times better if anyone can play them with a REAL piano, as the ones on this track are from a VST.

Writers/Lyricists:

Your lyrics don't need to be on a specific theme, such as "The Secret". Don't keep the title in mind when writing, just write about anything you think suits this type of music, anything you want to write about.

Track details are:

KEY: G Major/ E Minor

Signature: 6/4 at 170BPM

I hope this works out well, really excited how it'll turn out.

Let me just clarify that I didn't play this. If only I could play this well. I composed the piece on Finale, and my computer played it for me. And then I edited the shit out of it to make it sound like it was a person playing, not a computer. Anyways. Enjoy!

Also, I wrote this for this play, but feel free to use it for whatever you want!
