First crack at doing a VO for Joe's prologue. I tried out quite a few different voices, and this is the one that seemed best to those who were good enough to give me feedback. Hopefully this will also help build some more momentum for this wonderful collaboration. As always, I'm very happy to have another go if this isn't quite capturing the spirit of the thing. 

EDIT (March 4, 2012): Looks like Joe's 'Prologue' started life as 'Shadowplay: A Prologue' and 'Shadowplay: A novel in chapters' by flockofwords. Huge apologies to her for not doing my homework properly, and congrats on an amazing, wonderful story. Props are also due to Soupy and Attilee and everyone else who's been working away on this project for months!

...here's an orchestral suite of musical themes inspired by several images form the Shadow Caste collaboration. I will reference them and perhaps you can tell which goes with which. This was a lot of fun, to make this... looking forward to dong more. 

....there's one record I can't find, the one about Umbreo. But yeah... that idea inspired the last movement especially. 

this was just very a quick sketch shade job...I am not expecting this to be used or remixed or whatever...but kinda just came about as more of a concept that will hopefully spark others ideas. I was thinking about all the little shadow people and how the Tenebrae preys upon them. Sinnamin even has the Tenebrae holding the little shadows in a prison of sorts. So I got to thinking how the little shadows deserve to defend themselves.... I just drew them hiding in a cactus since the cactus is the most vicious (plant) around in my opinion. Plus I was just watering my own personal cactus :P  and stuck myself and boy did it hurt LOL.... but yeah i got to doodlin'. maybe some of you other HitRECorders can come up with some better ways for the little shadows to defend themselves against the Tenebrae with illustrations or whomever will take up the task of writing the storyline. The underdogs deserve to win in the end and defeat the Tenebrae!! or maybe think of some other shadow being that can come and rescue the lil' shadows from the Tenebrae's capture?

Maybe a rogue hero shadow being or Prince (This may be too fairytale-esque) that comes and saves his fair maiden gloam and her people from the wiles of the Tenebrae. I think it would be cute/funny to see the lil' shadows with some arsenal... maybe shooting shadow arrows Robin Hood style? haha. I dunno... but, I think collectively everyone could make it into an epic tale... if everyone wants to take it that far! just throwin' in my 5 cents and just sayin' =D

Honestly, this guy creeps me out but, really, you aren't supposed to like a despotic enslaver so I guess I should be creeped-out by him.

Perhaps these parts can be useful to any animators.

Like it or not, bad guys always have others who are willing to follow them.

What if the noon shadow has wanted to see a dawn..The moment of birth of most beautiful star for all shadows  It might be a really exciting adventure. The shadow needs some equivalent of noon sun i mean some "device"..replacing to it the noon sun. This device is possible there is an invention of shadow from other caste Shadow needs a friends to carry out its hazardous plan to see a dawn. It can be more technologically complicated device than in my image :) Not to be a shadow from an artificial light .. this device must  contain a real solar energy... figuratively speaking a tiny thermonuclear reactor :D If they worship to the sun maybe somewhere they have a piece of sun as a relic (cherished object)

This is stock footage of my dog, Gelato, playing in a field. We walk about a mile to get there and then I let him off leash to run around and explore. He's part pug, part Italian Greyhound, so he likes to run and is pretty speedy. He also likes to jump. :-D

Anyway, I thought film editors might find some of this footage useful should they ever need an happy, roaming puppy

I chose to create this propaganda-style poster based upon stellarNELR's Bad Advice text since her statement sticks close to the Bad Advice theme and is also, unfortunately, true.

This is my second version of this piece. I changed up the bottom portion a bit so it went better with the color scheme. Also, some other tiny tweaks.

The poem's an old one. I hacked a stanza from it. I like it better this way. I've also been fascinated with Emma's photographs, especially her Waiting pictures. :)

Grr! There are so many musical projects that I've been meaning to work on (well, 4, if to be precise), but I currently don't have time for anything… So, against my better judgment, I've decided to post one (or two, we'll see) of my old, awkwardly recorded, ultra-unprofessional sounding 4-track demos in the meantime.

This is one of my earliest compositions. It was written and recorded 17 years ago. (Damn, that makes me feel SO FREAKIN' OLD! :O).

I do not have primo audio equipment so I apologize for the hiss. I didn't bother attempting to use noise gate or normalize since I figured I'd leave it to the people who know what they are doing :) Good luck if you decide to use this.

sfdetroiter's imperfect pattern inspired me to make more patterns. If you haven't seen her record yet, go check it out (and use it in something).

I especially like the stripey one. I don't know why I didn't bring that one home with me.

So I wrote this song off site and although I can't upload the vocals I did for the song I can however put up the guitar track I did.

This has a lot of room for collaboration. You could sing over it and play pretty much any instrument over it.

The chords are C, G, Am, F with a capo on the fourth fret.

I finished knitting the first form and function fingerless glove! (though am having thoughts about redoing "form," it's kind of crooked) There's cross stitch and felting and embroidery (oh my!). The other hand's glove will be more textural to reflect the circuitry design - cables, lace, and more embroidery, maybe even beads... (I have to make it first). I'll try to get some better pictures up soonish...

A friend asked for a song to go with a break dancing video. This is what I came up with.

hitRECord is expanding so that our production company can meet the growth that's knocking at our door. One of the first orders of business is to take on some new staff.  I think we'd all agree that given the growth of the community, a Community Director is needed.  The Community Director will help curate the site, assist the community with daily support and to be a reliable line of communication between the company and the community. 

The candidate for this position was an easy choice.  Matt Conley has shown his commitment as a team player countless times and he has been ever so consistent with making and running the RE-REC collaboration for over a year now.  I'm happy to make him hitRECord's first Community Director!

As with everything on hitRECord, job roles and responsibilities will most definitely grow and become more defined with time and experience.  So with that said, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you hitREcord's new Community Director, Mr. Matt Conley!

I've been obsessed with Gloameo since I read sinnamin's poem.  This is just a rough sketch to get the balcony scene out of my head.
