This week I am going to focus on re-recs for Monster City because there are so many new records contributed. This collab is taking off! There is so much potential for us to create this world. I know it is called Monster City, but it is their world and it was inspired by a REmix I did months back of brookecuckart's monster ideas, and Monster City was the title. I believe this collab has the potential for us to create a book, films, and maybe more. Thanks to Gaby for starting the hitRECord Challenge Collab. it is a great way to ask people to work with you on projects and had generated a lot of results for this collab.
ppeppina has taken the challenge I gave her of writing a theme song for Monster City. She has done such a great job. We have great monsters and stories developing, and phtographers and illustrators are contributing albums of their work that can be used as backgrounds for REmixes and animations. We also have a lot of great REmixes here. There are a lot of records I want to include here, so I will be adding to this RE-REC album over the next day or so. Also I am on pain pills for a neck injury and won't recover for a week or so, so sorry if I am typing anything that doesn't make sense :)

I made this from a photograph I took of the walnut dresser my dad made for me when I was a kid. It is a photo of the woodgrain on the side of the dresser, that just happened to be the side that faced my bed at night. I put something like 500 glow in the dark stars on my wall before the dresser was ever there, but when i got it the stars lit up the room at night and that combined with my imagination gave me trouble falling asleep for many nights. I obviously added effects to this as well as smoke, fire, eyeballs, and a mouth, but it really looks like this!

Sylvie in a headpiece I made for a children's production of Where the Wild Things Are many many moons ago. Shame she's holding that silly blue cup or else I would think she could be cut out and placed somewhere more magical. Who knows, though - might be useful. Maybe I'll try to get another of her...
Another old 4-track demo, from around the same time 'The Devil is Out' was recorded (aka a million years ago). I mentioned this one in my 'Getting personal' post so I thought it would be fitting to share it.
I am fighting the urge to write what I think about the overall quality of this recording in fear that I shall be cyber-slapped by AnnMarije & Xanlee… :p I'll just say that I recently considered re-recording it as a PROPER sounding song , but decided against it in the end. I mean, I like it, but I'd rather focus on other (okay, BETTER) stuff. ;) ...I still dig the lyrics, though!

I was so excited when the monster collab came up! one of the drawing phases that i want through when i was younger was ALL about monsters and creepy rag-dolls (too meany tim berton movies i guess) anyway i looked back into some of my old drawing books and i found this treasure :) I think I was 9 when i drew this.
