A slightly more refined/less chaotic mix. This one even kinda makes sense on speakers! I think.
I'm up for dancing when you sing
And I'm up for singing when you dance
I'm up for eating anything you make
I'm up for shaking when you stir
And I'm up for stirring when you shake
I'm up whenever you're awake
But I'm down, down, down
when you're leaving
I am down, down, down
when you're not around
I am down, down, down
when you don't make a sound
Oh baby
I'm basement low when you say no
Such a low
Watch me go
Down.

From the soundtrack of PANOPTICON
This Prison
I saw your face
Through your own eyes
And felt disdain's reflection
Your sorrow's pace,
Pulse pumping lies,
Long lost in the translation.
My own unrest
Put to the test
Nerve endings eager allies.
Fates never guessed
Pains pierce my chest
Sad souls breach glassy blue skies.
This prison, this panopticon
Where everything you love is gone...
Your mirror like
A spider web
Re-connects the shattered bits.
With all your might
You fight the ebb
That sucks your mind off all wits.
A helpless guard
I am ashamed
Your edges should not hurt me.
Where do I start
Emotions maimed
I swear to not let you be.
This prison, this panopticon
Where everything you love is gone...
Weave yourself a memory
To cherish as you part from me
Don't paint it blue
Don't compose it in a minor key
If your bicycle won't take you straight to heaven
Dig it up and bathe in it
Be young and carefree
And if your bicycle won't take you straight to heaven
Dig it up and bathe in it
We'll soon meet in the skies
In our own paradise

Altered
There's a welcome party held under ground
For the salty girl from our sugar town
She's the chosen queen
Of our little scene
And she's back after the operation
All the girls and boys
Out there making noise
Came to show her a sweet time / Are in awe of the alteration
So very sugary now
We’re gonna make her feel secured (Can't shake off that sensation)
Protected, safe and re-assured (This feeling of sedation)
We've finally had her fully cured (Lack of orientation)
So sweet, from head to tit to feet (Can't shake off that sensation)
So holy, so right, so complete (She's lost in their translation)
So sweet, She's soon to have a fit (Succumb to desperation)
So very sugary now
She's the chosen queen
Of our little scene
And she's back after the operation
All the girls and boys
Out there making noise
Are in awe of the alteration
She's out on a limb
It's a broken dream
Caught in a chemical reaction
Now it all looks grim
And her lights are dim
Can't shake it off, shake shake it off OFF
This is the 1st mix of my first new song in over 7 months - featuring (the amazingly talented) Babbish (<3)
It's actually an old-new song. I started writing it in 1999, and it was the last song I worked on before my over-a-decade-long "hiatus". Ever since I got back to making music 15 months ago I planned to get back to this one and finally finish writing it and record it, but as long as I had new songs in me I preferred to focus on them. And now its time has come. And I am so thankful (and ecstatic! And honored!) that Babbish worked on it with me (AND gave it its title :)).
As much as I like this version and its sparseness, I don't see it as the final, "official" one. More elements should be added to it. And I believe the song can go in quite a few different directions (as WunderBoy's AWESOME 80's-dance REmix undoubdtedly proves! :D). So if anyone is inspired by it and feels like REmixing it - please, do! I'd love to see what you guys can come up with!
Me: Singing, guitars & bass
Babbish: Drums, flute & BV's

Drum loop taken from calahan's "When We Were Young" (aka gweninterrupted's "drum loop 14").
Let's move to California
Get a place in Hollywood
Go to bars that the stars
Are known to frequent
And get their autographs
(We'll get some money out of it)
We'll stay up late every night
And make believe
There are no obligations
We'll roam the town
And say we're celebrities
(And friends of Joseph Gordon-Levitt)
It won't take long
Til they know our names
Til we burst in flames
All over Tinseltown
We'll be cast
In all the big productions
Objects of attraction
Singing all the way to the bank
They won't be able
To call us idiots
Anymore
We'll be adored
We'll be wine
We'll be acid
We'll be all they're craving
Packaged neatly and massively sold
When Hugh fuckin' Laurie
Is my best mate
They will be sorry
(Oh man, will they be sorry!)
They always made us wait
And laughed at us behind our backs
And when we do lines
With Charlie Sheen
All those assholes will be green
(May their envy consume them!)
They will eat us
They will drink us
They will crave and need us
Like a drug they could never afford
They will eat us
They will wine and feed us
Nowherevillians arise
From the gutter to the skies!
When Hugh fuckin' Laurie
Is my best mate
(So get your lazy ass out of bed
Pack a bag
And let's do it!)
They will be sorry
(Oh man, will they be sorry!)
They always made us wait
And laughed at us behind our backs
And when we arrive
At our old school
All the haters
Will fuckin' drool!
And when we are down
And feeling blue
We can tell ourselves
We're no longer me and you
Finally managed to work some more on my REmix of WilliamG's 'So Sweet'. The previous version was a rough, super-hastily-made mix (that I rushed to release because I knew it would be quite some time until I was able to revisit it). This one, while not really being *drastically* different (or perfect... I don't do perfect), still sounds nicer, I think. The vocal tracks are more properly mixed, and the overall sound is a bit finer. At least to my ears... But I'll let you guys judge for yourselves. x
She's been swinging on a rainbow
On a rainbow
On her rainbow
All day
Night and day on her own rainbow
Her own rainbow
On her rainbow she'll stay
She's out
of space and time
Singing a rhyme
The sweetest ever written
Her body's shaking miles away
But she will
Not let her soul be beaten
She's been swinging on a rainbow
On a rainbow
On her rainbow
All day
Night and day on her own rainbow
Her own rainbow
On her rainbow she'll stay
Yes, she's been swinging on a rainbow
On a rainbow
On her rainbow
All day
She's just trying to make the pain go
Make the pain go
Make the pain go away
Hmm, well, it has been forever since I last posted one of my countless "just-gathering-dust-in-the-vault" 4-track recordings... So here's a random one.
This is an instrumental number that I recorded one wintery night, sometime in the mid 1990's. As always with these recordings, it's *very* low-fi, and pretty awkward sounding. But maybe it can inspire someone, somehow. Who knows.

My first new song in 10 years. The original plan was to record a basic, acoustic version, post it here, and see if anyone finds something in it and wants to develop it into something more. But then it grew and became a fully-arranged song.
While I do like the outcome, I'm not so sure this arrangement compliments the lyrics perfectly. I'd love to hear other takes on it. I am adding the stems, in the hope that anyone out there will be interested enough (or bored enough?) to do something with it.
Singalong Jack
Worked all through the day
Now he wants to play
Goes to town
Where he can drown his sorrows
And no one knows better than him
How to drown their sorrows
Gets into the queue
Knows what he has to do
To be quick
To get it done before they even notice
And no one knows better than him
How to not be noticed
He hides his gun
And chooses one
To hit and run
When done with his wine
The night is young
And yet unsung
And he is hung
So everything's fine fine fine
Morning comes violently
Bright and loud as ever
Morning arrives as he
Wakes up next to whoever
Another day of disarray
Of doing all
That needs to be done
So much to do now
Bloody hell
The day hasn't even begun
So…
He gets out of bed
Bins the sheets of red
Damn, No one knows
The amount of work one goes through
When playing all night every night
It is such a sorrow
He'll drown it tonight
And would deal with it tomorrow
Worked all through the day...
New song... (*Listen with headphones, if possible*)
let's just lie here
for a little while
let's turn off our minds
my skin, your skin
armourless
untamed
intertwined
let's disappear
in each other's isle
let's leave the devil behind
my sin, your sin
meaningless
our maims intertwined

An old track, from my unreleased EP. (Recorded in the late 90's).
A 4track demo from ages ago. I liked it enough to include it, as it was, in my (abandoned) EP.

FINALLY managed to record something new.
(A better-sounding remastered version can be found in the results)
When I first heard this instrumental by tooantuh, this weird little tune (accompanied by these weird little lyrics) popped into my head. I didn't plan to record it at first, but the thing got stuck in my head for 2 months. So I eventually gave up and recorded it. And then I didn't plan to share it. But now it seems that I am. So... yeah.

Grr! There are so many musical projects that I've been meaning to work on (well, 4, if to be precise), but I currently don't have time for anything… So, against my better judgment, I've decided to post one (or two, we'll see) of my old, awkwardly recorded, ultra-unprofessional sounding 4-track demos in the meantime.
This is one of my earliest compositions. It was written and recorded 17 years ago. (Damn, that makes me feel SO FREAKIN' OLD! :O).
