An unexpected blow

that broke a heart in two,

created crack so thin

it could be fixed with glue.

Thin though it may be

the crack runs cut deep.

If I could turn off my dream,

maybe this crack wouldn't keep.

For in my dream it waits

it lurks in my dark,

It's a monster that left

a permanent mark.
