So I had this idea for combining "turn over the leaves 2" by Kimshuttle & "Skip and the turtle" by MadisenMusic. I loved the thought of the man reading a children's story. It could be his own child's story, or perhaps he just needed the kind of cheering up that only kid's books can do. Anyway, I'm not the best illustrator in the world, so I doodled some stick figures instead, as I wanted to put this together with a few images to show what it might look like & I thought I'd upload it to the site in case anyone would like to take the idea further.

I imagine:

• The man's eyes going from left to right, as if he's reading.


• The illustrations in the book being childlike (wobbly lines, colouring out of the lines etc.)


• Some of the illustrations moving, such as the bump on Bobby's head growing as he talks, or seeing the rocks actually skimming the water.


• I also wanted to animate the man's arm extending to put the book away at the end.

Anyway, I'm not in a position to spend much time making this right now, but I'm really keen to see it in a finished state & I thought someone here might like the idea & might play around with the two RECords together.

As soon as I heard AM Ferraro's beautiful piece of music I knew I had to do something with it.

When I first heard this instrumental by tooantuh, this weird little tune (accompanied by these weird little lyrics) popped into my head. I didn't plan to record it at first, but the thing got stuck in my head for 2 months. So I eventually gave up and recorded it. And then I didn't plan to share it. But now it seems that I am. So... yeah.

I love this poem by wirrow (and I'm so happy he did his own voice over for it:) I had to put some music with it and this piece by megancarnes fit perfectly. 

I'm going to work on a video for this, but I hope other people do as well. It lends itself PERFECTLY to visuals and I'm sure we have the REsources:)

Gaby challenged me to record a song for the shadow caste collab, and more precisely about the Tenebrae...

Now, I know that the Tenebrae is obviously "the bad guy" in this collab, but it couldn't help feeling sorry for him... I mean, He was in Umbra first, with others of his kind, for ages, maybe for thousands of years. Then (maybe when the sun came along) all the other shadow castes appeared and started claiming rights for themselves. As time went by almost the whole race of Tenebraes had extinct (again perhaps 'cause of the sun), but this one Tenebrae still stayed around, hiding in the land that once was His, filled with anger, pain and bitterness. No wonder all this drove him mad. (just an idea I had :P)

So I wrote this quite sad song about him... I think it might work better as an instrumental theme than a song, but I don't know, I wanted to give it a try :D it was really hard to sing though! I would've wanted to tell the whole sad story of the Tenebrae in this song, but I didn't get the inspiration for the lyrics... (maybe someone would like to give it a try? ;))

This must be one of the longest descriptions for a audio record, but I felt like I had to explain to Gaby why I made something like this, I'm guessing this wasn't quite what she had in mind...! okkk I'll stop writing now! :D

this took nearly a full year after the original bass line & 'Ravens' RECords were released for me to 'crack' the idea for an arrangement that worked.
back in April 2011, i downloaded the audio stems that Albert, Sarah, and Matt uploaded to the site, and after trying some ideas that ended up not going aywhere, decided to put this REmix on hold until I could think of something suitable. Sometimes the best ideas come much later. Sometimes, it's better to put your impulses aside and allow time to pass...
in January 2012, I came up with the idea of looping Matt & Sarah's ending vocal lines which created the proper foundation, along with Albert's bass, for the song to move in a cohesive, structured direction. Everything else, the drums, guitar solo, format, followed suit.
And there you have it.

I am working in some possible intros for some of the videos for my shadows project, this is just a version, but I am making another animation right now, I have to say thanks to karengayle for this fantastic animation of my HR shadows logo! :)

i was challenged on HitRECord Challenge Collab to finish the song "So I'm Told" originally written and performed by Babbish. I was to use to instrumental recorded by Lyrictician and add vocals to complete the song. This is what i have done. I hope everyone enjoys it. 

I don't really consider myself much of a drawer, but I drew this with my finger on my iPad as an example for my daughter's sweet tiny story. And after I was about 90% finished with the drawing, I remembered that there is a zoom function that would have made little details a WHOLE lot easier and better than trying to draw tiny dashes with my giant fingertip. Anyway, I would much rather see an illustration from someone that actually draws on a regular basis, but I thought I'd upload this anyway and BEG someone to draw something for her sweet tiny story. Preferably something that could also be animated in the future with her sweet voiceover that we recorded yesterday :)

I haven't had much time to work on this so there hasn't been many changes. Nothing more than eq tweaking. I got rid of the glitch effect on the drums towards the end that pamagotchi rightly disapproved of. I would like to request of pamagotchi perhaps to rerecord the vocals. Maybe two new versions. Not necesarly completely different versions. I would just like to hear the different inflections that are inherent when working on something and then returning to it later on. If you could do one one day and another someother day. I will upload an instrumental track as well.

I've been wanting to cover a song for The Morning Hollows' HitRECord Covers Collab forever since I mostly record song covers on my tumblr and that's what got me into recording music in the first place. I never could decide on a song to cover, but I finally listened to tonguecutsparrow's song yesterday and decided to try it. Since his song is already awesome, I just did this one quickly and had some fun with a few garageband effects, so don't take it too seriously :)
