Here's a short video that I've been working on - inspired by Metaphorest's Ravens record. This was my first attempt at rotoscoping. I had to remake marcellepallais' hair, I hope I did her justice. I've been playing around a lot with the coloring, and I think I'll increase the contrast and bring out the blues a bit more.

I built and animated the the wings and birds from dgroeneman's "feather drawing" and sojushots' "winter tui". I've uploaded some pre-keyed high-res image sequences of the flying birds, and flapping wings as resources for remixability.

Ideally when I'm done, I'd like the video to span the entire song. I welcome feedback on where to go from here.

As requested, here is my interpretation of Gaby's Bad Advice Record: "When life gives you lemons, just wait for some oranges, apples and pineapples and make some delicious fruit juice." ....somehow this took a weird, dark turn when I went to illustrate it. Graphite and pencil crayons on paper.

This is the beginning of something or something.

After the awesome feedback I got, here's another take at Wednesday's child. I dunno - I've gotta do something about the levels because when they're exported, they get all louder and softer than they'd been.

Just me and the viola this time, and I slowed it down a bit.

Any and all feedback is certainly helpful.

When I was a kid I used to think that little people controlled people's brains...I was slightly weird...I guess nothing has changed!

I wanna make a film based around the recently featured 'Honey'.

Something sweet, poetic, but not cheesy.

Something based on the props in the drawing.

I need a writer to write something equally beautiful as the original source. Using the lines already written as a structure.

"But somehow their scent remained,

sweetening rememberance

like the honey in her

strong, dark tea."

Build characters or whatever. if it works out, maybe I can make something.

I don't imagine the film being too long, but, it could be very impactful.

Shot in Kansas.

I think this would be perfect for the forest in the LRRH collab or anything else that might be appropriate. 

So, I remixed all this collabs about doing an autopsy and I did a self portrait with my things, to illustrate who I am. It's a fun exercise, choose the objects that will represent you.

1) In the background, my nacionality, Brazil's flag.

2) At the left, my diploma of Publicity and Propaganda (the formal document and the symbolic one).

3) My sun glasses. I use a lot.

4) My pearl necklace it's because I love this vintage stuff, and also it's a gift from a special person.

5) The MP3 player I carry wherever I go. I almost never stop listening to music.

6) The CDs are actually DVDs. I love cinema and I buy every dvd of the films I love! I can't help it!  

7) I wrote this little diary. It's not actually to write things I do every day, but everything that inspire me. 

8) Pink lipstic, my favorite, and my make-up brush. 

9) Two pictures, one of my best friends and another of my boyfriend.

Harriet wasn’t quite sure what all this tip-toe “through” the tulips business was about. She much preferred them from mid-air.

Because I have two ridiculously hard tests to study for and a paper to write this weekend. I kid you not one test is so hard that last time the class received a ten point curve so most of us could pass! I'm skating by with a C but I havent given up hope on making an A or at the very least a B. The point scale is odd but with group project points hopefully I'll squeak by. Its been awhile since I did rerecs-since I was recovering from surgery- but there was a lot of awesome things to recommend! This might just be it from me this weekend-have to switch off creative mode for school mode-oh well it will be over soon!

P.S. Also I'm takin a cue from Marcelle who focuses mostly on video editors in her rerec videos so I tried to focus mostly on new writers-so disappointed that a lot of great text recorders I recommended last year have since abandoned the site-I think its important to try to retain the talent.

Creating cool characters is a great way to start developing stories that can evolve into short films, comic strips, or even songs. 

ILLUSTRATORS: Make new characters, or remix characters that already exist on the site. Contribute these to chloe04's "Character Collab" so we can remix them even further.

WRITERS: Find characters in the "Character Collab" and write stories about them. You can put them together with other characters or find collaborations that you can integrate them into.

I really love "why so shy little knit boy?" by sojushots and "Cactus and Balloon" by LydiaSaskia. These are awesome examples of characters that have been contributed to chloe04's collaboration. Now we can begin remixing them into their own stories.

Can't wait to see more characters from all of you guys!

Had to add to international blossoming:) they are so lovey no matter where they bloom.

A quick sketch I did today for Kouralilly's challenge. It's for her beautiful poem, "long distance relationship". I'm not a very good artist and I generally need an image in front of me to draw from so I drew the woman based off of an image of Angeline Jolie and the man from an image of Leonardo DiCaprio.

I have always wanted to remix a record of Mirtle's but didn't want to ruin the integrity of her original drawing.

She did this doodle this week and specified that it would be nice to see it colored-GREEN LIGHT!

So photoshop and I went to work-hope you (and she) enjoy it and much as I did making it!

A tiny fragment of Spring

the cherry blossoms were still in bloom during my trip down to washington d.c. yesterday :) 

This suddenly popped up in my head when i thought about the creation myth... i usually draw for other people's stories/ideas but since i really had the urge to draw this, i am hoping someone else can come up with a story for this maybe? :D I was offline for some time now, i missed you all. <333
