Some of you have been writing new stories for the 'things that make me happy #1' record, so I thought I should upload a new version without the text.
I can always get rid of the textured background if need be.
The original text read:
things that make me happy #1:
Listening to sad music while having happy thoughts...
EXT. STREET. DUSK.
They keep their heads down low and walk at a brisk pace. The man anxiously rechecks his watch - 5:59pm. Curfew is only seconds away. He begins to jog.
MAN
C’mon, quick!
WOMAN
Yeah yeah.
MAN
I’m not being picked up by those fuckers again.
WOMAN
Alright!
Suddenly a strange sound stops them both dead in their tracks. She looks at him with a baffled expression.
WOMAN
What is that?
The man slowly looks up, as a flock of small BIRDS quickly flutter past. They look at each other, confused. No one has seen a single living animal since The Incident.
WOMAN
I don’t understand... What does it mean?
MAN
I don’t know... But we can’t be here. Let’s go.
They run.
DIARY OF YOSHITOMO YUMI, YEAR 2018, TOKYO CITY.
18 months and counting. Yeah I still count, don’t know why, but I think it helps. I’ve also started using a diary, this diary obviously. It’s stupid, but again, it helps. Feels good to share my thoughts, even if it’s only with myself.
Anyway... I thought I saw something moving in the East Sector yesterday. Near that apartment block, the one where I heard those noises last week. I couldn’t make out for sure, but it was no animal, and it was gone before I could grab the scope. I tried to follow but my legs still in bad shape.
So I’ve been spying on that block all day, and just like that, a light turned on! I couldn't believe it. Still can't. But I managed to take a photo, so I know it's real.
I don’t know how to feel about it yet. But if I’m no longer the last man on earth, then... well I need to know.
Will investigate tomorrow. It’s getting dark. I can’t go out in the dark... Never again.
Y.
