Kampaign freaking killed it on this song so I had to cut this together. I only used three camera angles and the film so there is definitely room to grow.

While remixing the videos of AM singing "Hindsight" at the Fall Formal, I had the random urge to mix it in with the remix video I did almost a year ago to A.M. Ferraro's remix of Metaphorest's original. So I guess this is a remix, of a remix, of a remix? (I don't know if it's 3 or 4 times removed). In any case, I had fun doing it, and will tamper with it a bit more, but here's the first draft. 

I wanted to try some things out with the intro.  Do they work?

So, this is my first time editing a video.  I decided to give this a go and build up some experience.  Now that we have the soundboard audio, it made things a bit easier.  I want to brush it up a bit more-putting in some transitions, seeing if I can get the videos to end up with the same look and there are a couple shots of Kid Koala I want to use that I'm still deciding on a place for.  Still, I wanted to get this up, and if anyone has any tips/constructive criticism/comments they'd be greatly appreciated!

Third draft with the soundboard audio. I'll probably play around with this a bit more, but feel free to have at it. :)

I love this song and this performance was so rad that I had to cut it together immediately. This is the first cut. I'll definitely add more footage as it's uploaded to the site and I'll definitely cut the sound board audio in once it's up on the site too.

So thanks to Dr. Gory I found the gumption to revisit my edit of this and fix the aspect ratio thing that was messed up. Also I tightened up a few different edits throughout the video.

Also I was inspired by Matt Conley's RE:Love video and decided to do an intro to this as well. 

There's still room for this to grow though. There's a lot of great footage that I didn't use that could be cut into this.

Here is my first cut of Gary Oldman's reading at the Fall Formal. Once more footage gets released I'll definitely try and do another cut. Or you guys can try and take what I've done and cut it again. 

I wanted to play with some layering on these fall formal edits. I had BUNCH of other layers, but then I scrapped them and left two.  I was recently working on a behind the scenes video outside hitrecord, so maybe that multiple camera angle thing i was going for there, rubbed off on me here. I also, like it without the layers, but I wanted to do something differentish.

Definitely not done getting all the resources, but I'm working on it! I need to keep a better track of all the videos.

It's still a French song written by a beautiful and talented Irish lady, and performed by 3 beautiful and talented American people. That's what hitRECord is all about!

Wanted to take a stab at the request Joe made for editting fall formal live performances with other footage on the site. I changed the "Intimacy" clips to black and white so it matches the "Telefon" clips. 

With the superb direction from Dr. Gory, that I hope I fulfilled, in the best way I could for now.

I left the Las vegas layers, but tricked them out when they got to the strip. I color corrected all new clips and also messed a little with red blue and white lights further, which if i do say so myself (cus its my upload) has turned out to be really fun to layer and its in Hitrecord colors... whut? (i'm so cool for you)

With respect, I would LOVE IT if someone could fulfill MY request and upload some footage if you were sitting in the STAGE LEFT,FAR BACK, LOWER LEVEL or those fancy box seats. I would really love that POV. To me, that would complete it and I know exactly where I would put it. Please upload in 1280x720 HD H.264 or RAW from your camera unless its an .AVI file, then I would say please compress that shizz..

To brittanyalyse- I left a comment on your video, but if you could please reformat your clip and reupload that would be awesome. I HATTTEEEE cropping clips, it hurts my heart a little. you have some really crisp, well shot footage that I want to maximize to its fullest potential.

My only gripe is, its so much more fun to cut to clips and shots when i dont have to think about cutting AROUND some shake or I saw when relooking at all the clips from this, that for future live shows for people that film this stuff, don't EVER film the screen. because, I will always get that screen from gory or tarin. if you have a decent shot of the stage at all from your POV, FILM IT. I couldn't use some beautiful stuff because when the right moment occured you'd cut to the freakin screen.  un-useable. <3 please take that constructively.

Also on a personal note, I got done with a job at about 12:30am and its almost 5 am now. The life of an editor. Appreciate us.  (smoked lots of weed though, so don't feel too bad)

*Stoner thought: When we're all done with this, why WOULDN'T MTV want to air this? huh? Huh? there's a question for you. (psst don't tell anyone, joe is famous)

I did a basic edit of Soul & Serotonin from the Fall Formal. I hadn't seen any edits yet (doesn't mean that there aren't any), and I really loved this performance, so I decided to give it a try.

I see this more as a very basic first step. There's a lot more that could be done. I don't establish the setting at all, like I've seen a lot of other cuts do (and very well, might I add). When it comes to editing, I focus almost solely on finding different angles and cutting to the music. There are no cool effects like layering or multiple shots in a screen. Also, I have no standards when it comes to the quality of footage. I tried to use every resource I could find (and if I used you and forgot to resource you, let me know).

With this particular cut, I found myself really taken in by Tasha's amazing presence on stage. That woman knows how to eye fuck an audience. So you'll see a lot of emphasis on her throughout.

I've been wanting to do this for awhile. Now, with all the FF videos coming out, seemed like a good time. I Have No Cats - live. With cats. 

I only used RyanPatrick's original I Have No Cats edit... I didn't add or change any live footage (except for where I cut parts out for the kitties:), except that I used the sound board audio instead of the original audio he had.

Also, FYI, I tried to make all the clips the same aspect ratio, and I was able to do it for most of them. But for a few of them, it wouldn't let me open them in the program so I couldn't change it. If someone else wants to try it, maybe you can make it work).

I'm not thinking of this as a final product (is anything really?) because more live footage could be added, but I hope it can be useful as a resource.

..... and now I just saw RyanPatrick did the same type of edit. Great minds, I guess:)

As per Dr. Gory's suggestions, I changed from cross dissolves to cuts and added in some of Joe's stage footage. Also change the bumpers at the beginning and end (thanks Matt Conley for editing together FF themed bumpers!). 

The biggest problem I'm having is that when the screen changes behind Sia while she's singing, it seems to sort of...jolt? the viewer (I know that's not the exact right phrasing, but you see what I'm getting at). I tried to time those cuts with the screen so it didn't seem as off-setting, but there are still a couple of moments where it sort-of hiccups. Any suggestions for that?

I'm also still not sure about the intro.
