Hoity-toity.

Hello! This is my first post on Hitrecord, discovered it on the weekend and just had to do my rendition of Fred.

I wanted him to kind of look like a toy, as the story reminded me of a kids poem, and I liked the idea of him wearing a hat to try to hide his quirks, but they just burst out the top anyway.  This is a polished version, but I'll post some rough sketches of him in other views, and without the hat.

There was something about SRL73's sketch (in resources) that I really liked (probably the Beetlejuice inspired arms!) so I thought I'd just REmix it & bring it a little to life! <3

I've been looking at this poem for awhile and I finally sat down and doodled this out. He's supposed to be a mash up of the parts mentioned in the poem. I might come back to this one later :)

The platypus is a peculiar species Created from leftover animal pieces The bill of a duck and the paws of an otter This curious chap couldn’t be any odder But instead of abhorring his comical beak The platypus revels in being unique!

This suddenly popped up in my head when i thought about the creation myth... i usually draw for other people's stories/ideas but since i really had the urge to draw this, i am hoping someone else can come up with a story for this maybe? :D I was offline for some time now, i missed you all. <333

I call him Gwarmp

Was planning to post this record as a remix of other people's great pieces but I haven't found my way to the remix yet and thought I might as well have this floating about in the lovely atmosphere that is HR. :D

(Random thought: my longest title to date, I think. Oh and my dad just gave away our rabbit - although I drew this way back and I don't have a particular soft spot for Bunny the rabbit. But still.)

This one might require an explanation. In Buddhism, the pig represents greed, anger, ignorance, selfishness, and just overall the qualities that make up a bad person. It occurred to me though that redemption or forgiveness (for anything, it doesn't have to be spiritual) should be an option to anyone willing to accept it. A pig should be permitted to follow a path of forgiveness if they so choose to, even by the practices of people that have denigrated its stature in the world.
