Last night I dreamt that I was a robot living with this family in a giant tower apartment thingy with huge windows in this giant futuristic city. When I was done helping out the family it was time for bed, so everyone went to sleep and I positioned myself infront of the window and went into charge mode so I could pretend to sleep. When I woke up in real life, I thought "I wonder what a robot would dream if a robot could dream."

So I wrote this song

Upon eating a delicious dinner at my favorite Indian restaurant, I was inspired by the works of Zach Condon to create this little tune using only synths for the first time. Just imagine the world of the Happy Robot Man, as he walks down the streets filled with humans, unaware of their disdain and uneasiness to his existence.

I built a synth yesterday.  It's not terribly musical, but it does make fun noises, reminiscent of walking through a video arcade in the early 80s.  To someone who grew up in that environment, it's a pleasant cacophony.

Anyway, here's a bed of sound that feels like classic arcade games, without actually using the trademarked sounds of those games.  It's quite long, evolving over time to provide some variety.

Note, this is really emulating the sound of several arcade machines in close proximity.  I could imagine it being one frenetic multiplayer game, but I don't think it feels authentic as a single player sitting on their couch at home.

If anyone needs isolated sounds in that style (laser fire, explosions, etc), let me know.  They shouldn't be hard to produce; I just need to hold back do less.
