All hearts for this week. As usual if you want me to see anything or respond to you, link it here!
This is the last chapter of the Shadows Project, is about Catching and Collecting Shadows! Thanks again to every person that helped me with this project, and especially for the contributions that were made especially for this chapter!
Tomorrow I'll be uploading a video with all the project/Documentary in one!
Thanks again guys!!!!
I did a basic edit of Soul & Serotonin from the Fall Formal. I hadn't seen any edits yet (doesn't mean that there aren't any), and I really loved this performance, so I decided to give it a try.
I see this more as a very basic first step. There's a lot more that could be done. I don't establish the setting at all, like I've seen a lot of other cuts do (and very well, might I add). When it comes to editing, I focus almost solely on finding different angles and cutting to the music. There are no cool effects like layering or multiple shots in a screen. Also, I have no standards when it comes to the quality of footage. I tried to use every resource I could find (and if I used you and forgot to resource you, let me know).
With this particular cut, I found myself really taken in by Tasha's amazing presence on stage. That woman knows how to eye fuck an audience. So you'll see a lot of emphasis on her throughout.
This is a cut of Le Petit Soldat at the Fall Formal, with 8 camera angles (plus audio board).
I was just going to go straight to the song and cut out some of the chatter at the beginning, but decided that not only would it be good for other editors to have some handles on either end to trim up themselves, rather than my diving straight into it, but also there's some quite funny gaffs at the beginning that are hilarious!
Anyway, I hope this is useful to anyone wanting to remix it.
<3
As requested, here is the version without the first vocal melody.
Fun little anti-puritanical song. I actually make a fair amount of music, I just don't like most of it. I thought this came out pretty decent though. Credit to my buddy Dana for the string-ish sound, which is an electric guitar being played with a violin bow.
(I might try mixing this again; it sounds fine through my headphones but not so much through my speakers...we'll see)
Lyrics:
Seraphim, cinnamon
Try not a single sin
Cover your eyes and your ears
Touch not the spices
Of everyday vices
No, leave them as formless fears
Shed your morality
Take our mentality
And smile, smile, smile
We’ll be your groomers
Adjust all your humors
Why don’t you just stay a while?
I was overdue for a remix and since I've been loving everything ppeppina has been doing, it felt like the right thing to jump back in the action with. I was going to use the instumental track to make something completely new, but I already really liked what was recorded with the track, so I just played around for a bit. It probably gets a little cluttered in the middle, oh well. Yay! :)
A reading a did a while back of Gwen's "Outstretched", paired with Neilhouse's music. Which I set to "Persevere" by sal.
I followed the theme of journey, of rediscovery, of finding new in old, and how a simple bike ride can be a journey into whatever you want it to be if you listen to what's going on inside your head.
I was in a singy mood today and lalala-ed to a Tchaikovsky piece called "The Crown of Roses." I didn't sing the lyrics because I don't know the Russian lyrics, and the appropriate English lyrics were written sometime in the last 50 years, which means they may still be under copywrite (there's another set that's not, but I don't like those lyrics).
However, I think of my voice as an instrument, the same way a celloist might think of their cello as an instrument, so to me, lyrics don't matter, just the music. I added some echo-y special effects for fun.
With a character like this, this portrait was bound to happen.
I started thinking about doing this portrait before I even finished the Steve and the Dinosaur post-it film. This character has so much potential that I had to do my little tribute to it. I was just going to do Dalkulla and Wilhelm, but decided to do three different Dalkulla poses in three different colors.
I started planning this during my spring break and finally started it Easter weekend. The drawing took more time than I thought, but it worked out very well in the end.
There are too many post-its to count.
Hello dear hitRECorders! This is the opening track from my upcoming EP, Music for Made-Up Scenes. I decided to make this one available on hR for downloading and remixing, but if you want the others you'll have to buy the EP when it comes out May 8th! :)
As always, headphones or good speakers are a must! <3
MaxSylvesterHall's music for No Room For Monsters with some vocals. I used the audio file that was with the video, so if you put this file back with the video it should sync up.

I will also post the 1080p version of this record with an alpha channel (no white).

Not sure how this can be used on hitRECord, but I never know - you guys are so crazy creative!
For my "Intro to Metals" class, I made an Eadweard Muybridge tribute in Metals. I constructed a Copper Zoetrope and pierced Brass slides with his "Galloping Horse." This is a Stop Motion I made with the completed work.

I was listening to TCS's song along with ChaneleyWelly's version and I just loved it so much, couldn't stop listening to it. I wanted to give some additions, but then I decided to remake the song completely. I changed some of the melodies a bit, but basically kept the main pulse of what makes the song what it is.
Picture this as an opening sequence to a video-game-style film.
The horse arrives in a ghost town. The horse stops at a cowboy who is unconscious in the middle of town. He wakes up. From this point film plays out from a top down view of the town, following the cowboy, the protagonist, as he wanders through each area of the town.
What is he doing there? Why is no-one else there? Where is 'there'? It plays out as a silent mystery, with a seemingly nonlinear options (you can go to the inn, go to the general store, go to the sheriff's office) but it plays out in a linear fashion. There is dialogue when interacting with objects, "The drawers are empty.", "There are 50 playing cards, 2 aces are missing.", "This door is locked".
Each plot-line could be developed in isolation and brought together to create something greater than each part.
cinematic.audiophile took such a stellar lead on this piece, he kept refining his edits to like 8 versions, adding more shots and the sound board audio. He really did a great job that without him my edit would have been a serious chore. So thank you very much.
I wanted to revisit this piece to see if there was anywhere we could go with it and well, I got carried away. So I want to upload this in it's current form to get some feedback from you guys. Do you like it? Does it work?
I chose to make the conversation black and white in an attempt to equalize the disparity in video quality. I also kept the majority of their conversation in 3 different camera angles because this piece more than any other is very much performanced based. And they are in the audience so it's easier to convey the atomsphere than if they were on stage.
(btw - there is a wild frame in there - to late to fix it now - so we will get it on the revisions)
Please lemme know if I missed a resource. Thanks!

"Under this umbrella I do an A Cappella
and when it pours this song is always yours." - KarlaMarie
We love rainy days at our house, so on the rare occassion that the rain doesn't come with a thunderstorm or tornado warning, we put on our rainboots and make our way outside. And sometimes I bring my camera.
This didn't quite turn out how I wanted, but we still had fun.
I traslated the word "Hitrecord" to the Sign Language. I did this because I was reading some article about hearing-impaired people that can do music. Beethoven is perhaps the best example that we have. Since this is a site made by artists, I thought it would be nice if we could learn more about sign language and make art of it.
The animated adventures of Moon Man.
Saw this Illustration by Wheresmyway, amidst Midori's Colouring Book and thought it would be a really nice record to remix.
It's first time I've worked on someone else's artwork so I really hope that I have done the intial line drawing justice, because it's pretty as it stands without the colour~
Tried to give the drawing a feeling of windy movement an' all, but it was a complete pleasure to play around with this drawing~
Enjoy! <3
"The nocturnal butterflies kissed her goodnight as they danced towards the moon beam in the sky."
Loved the tiny story and tried to make an animation to it! I hope this can be useful :D

So, this is the 2nd animation, from the "4 years" to "translucent with hunger" with the final (probably final :) version of the score by megancarnes . I really liked abd_abiad's idea with waves and incorporated this idea into my video. And, btw, sojushots thank you for separated from еру bg illustrations, it made the process easier :)
This is dedicated to all the lovely RECorders, with love , Bell ♥
I WISH.... I had the wizardy gift to bring some of the images in this song to life visually.... but I am happy to be inspired by those of you who do this - hearts to you all : )
some people have made little artworks of the Liker of Unlikely things and I adore them !! Thank you <3

Lizziemackie's "To This" has been somethng of an inspiration to me as of late. I love how the message of her song has a sort of transcendant quality about the universality of love. The song can be attributed to anyone you have deep compassion for: lover, sibling, parent, child, friend, even the love of a city or idea. At first I wanted to try to encapsulate all of it in the entire 3 minutes and 40 seconds of the video, but then I stumbled upon eaneikciv's videos, and the idea to have the song take on each aspect of the idea of love in its entirety struck. This video is about the most basic and primal of loves, that between parent and child. I searched through the site for as many videos of hitRECorders and their children, and hitRECorders as children, as I could find, and I edited them together with the music. By far the funnest time I've had making a RECord. And then I remembered text I had seen from a few pieces written on love, and I combined words from "...so about love..." and "Understanding Hearts" for the intro to the video. I added a record needle on vynil sound to throughout the song, because I think it lends to the feeling of cracking open those old home movies and reliving those memories. My hope is that every aspect of the message of Lizziemackie's song can be explored through the videos we have, and we can have kind of a collection of "To This" videos. If not, at the very least, I hope this RECord brings a smile to your face. Because it certainly did to mine.
Right, so this is v.2. Tweaked the sound, added a few more effects and changed some camera movement. Also I Added the "Don't be scared" tiny story by thedustdancestoo at the end.
