I'm back to having work on Saturdays, so re-recs might be few and far between for a bit. (I know! I'm sorry! Tell good shows to stop happening on Saturdays.) But there were some things I saw that, even if I didn't have time to edit together a whole video, I couldn't stand not to re-rec at all.

Somnium - Tiny Tune by eaneikciv

I love love love love Vickie's Tiny Tunes, but I think this one in particular is really interesting. Here, instead of finding a previously existing tiny story and tuneifying it, she wrote a tiny tune and wanted to see where people took it from there. She has a great idea of how to tie this song in with Shadow beings in the description that I'd be so excited to see some talented animators make a reality.

Cogbots by rewfoe

Rewfoe is a new-ish user with a great, cartoony style who I think has a lot to offer the site, but so far my favorite thing of theirs I've seen is this loop of what they call "cogbots". I almost feel like this could be used as part of a greater animation that would be put together in After Effects, but it's an amazing and thought-provoking resource as is, and it's just pure fun to watch.

Alabooma City by MadisenMusic

I think this is such an interesting record and use of resources. It's basically audio of an already-written scene that he put together from other songs and recordings, and it sounds great. This could be animated, but what I think would be so cool is if some hitRECorders could get together and film this, silent movie style.

Oblioic Background by  MaggieMudd

I'm a sucker for textures and a sucker for circles and especially a sucker for these colors (they're my favorites!), so I couldn't not re-rec this background. It's fun, it's adorable, and it would make a great resource for a clothing pattern or maybe even a monster skin.

Circuit City and Have me Shoot Your Stuff by DavidJfulde

I'm a little sorry I basically re-rec all the footage David shoots, except for how I'm not sorry at all, because it's great. I have a longstanding love affair with computer guts and all the crazy cool things you can find inside electronics. If I find someone throwing out an old electronic thing, I will spend hours or days unscrewing every screw and clipping every wire and laying it all out. I actually have a little box of them I always mean to scan or use in art, but never do. But I can't bear to throw them out because they're just too awesome. So when I saw this footage I made a super-embarrassing squeaky noise and clapped my hands and got really, really excited. Computer guts are so cool! And useful! For so many things!

If computer guts don't turn your cogs, that's cool. I'm aware this is a specialized sort of weirdness I have. However, David has kindly put out an offer to film things by request. Filmpunk did this a while back, and I love when people with good cameras do this, because it's a great way for video editors to pipe up and help fill in the gaps that might exist in our extensive stock footage library. So video editors, let him know what you're missing! He's kind of great at getting stock footage of stuff people need.

User - Rainydaysaint

I was introduced to Rainydaysaint's work when his piece 112200 was featured, and I fell completely in love.  If you fell as hard as I did, or are a photoshop wrangler/visual artist, I highly suggest checking out his other stuff. It's ethereal, gorgeous, and useful in so many different ways. Thre are pieces that look like water spalashes, peices that look like wings, trippy backgrounds... it's all just really, really fascinating, detailed, and beautiful.

This is a little different than most of my Tiny Tunes, instead of beginning as a Tiny Story, it started as a little song first and I'm hoping it will maybe inspire a Tiny Story.

I have this one idea that maybe there's a special Shadow Being cast only by the glow of night lights that puts people to sleep at night and takes them to a dreamland. I could see this being animated, or even just flashing photos, illustrations, and footage found on the site, and speeding up at the "ahhh" part of the song. It would be a good way to incorporate a whole lot of people's work into this 1 minute song.

It was the 1930s. The Clubs were hot, and Jazz was in the air!
