Does anyone else have a family that looks like this?
Edit: These characters were for a little animation I did a while back. It was my first time using After Effects, you can see it here:
Thanks for featuring this and enjoying it!

For some strange reason, folks think that he's horny
In fact, he hardly ever thinks about sex

Yeah, so. Still no time to work on new songs. So once again, digging up some stuff from the vaults.
This is the oldest one that I've posted to date. Wrote it when I was 16, recorded it among the first batch of demos when I bought my 4-track tape a year later. I have many issues with this one (and have actually always considered it one of the lesser recordings among my dozens of demos), but it's one of my wife's favorites. And she insists that it deserves to be heard, despite its flaws. I'm still not so sure. But I'll run with it.
Weave yourself a memory
To cherish as you part from me
Don't paint it blue
Don't compose it in a minor key
If your bicycle won't take you straight to heaven
Dig it up and bathe in it
Be young and carefree
And if your bicycle won't take you straight to heaven
Dig it up and bathe in it
We'll soon meet in the skies
In our own paradise
(wrote this a few years back, shortly after Vonnegut's death)
I did not want Kurt Vonnegut to be my father. I wanted him to be my mother. And the strange and/or funny thing is, I did...

Props to Krrr for bringing up this topic recently. :)
The songs of spring from tigers' jaws were prais’d
Last year, Baron von Monkenchowzer traveled to the East in search of enlightenment and a new income stream. He happened upon a little-known and soon-to-be franchised university in East Cal...
So I've been incredibly unproductive in hR recently since my new job has me traveling almost constantly. This is a pic from my 5th hotel room in 4 weeks. I still owe DianeFT my Challenge Collab and feel horrible that I haven't been able to finish it yet. All my graphic tools are at home :( So for now, I will just be putting up some text records and trying to support the community. Cheers ♥
Hello my fellow HitRECorders, I'm taking a break from the website entirely for a few weeks. I've been incredibly stressed with work, graduate school, and my personal life and I just need to take...

i saw this locket as part of a mix adhgraphicdesign did a little while ago...and while she wasn't posting to sell here, it was so beautiful i asked to buy it.
it arrived a little bit ago and i already got a ton of complements the first day i wore it (from everyone from friends to the guy selling jokes on the corner of the market!)
love love love it! :D
this is a beautiful piece amber!! :D <3
just some words on krrr's badass beat
edit: i added this to the cutting edge collab, because i imagine that cocaine would be a commonly used method to suppress sleep in the dreamshare world. and this song could be perfect during a scene of people cooking crack and snorting coke in crackhouses and whatnot... the slums and crackhouses that became havens for people who no longer wanted to share their dreams. maybe the crack has a negative effect on the nanos too?
FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T HANDLE A LONG DILDO.
(BTW: you don't have to heart to comment.)
My idea with this recut was to tighten the focus on the incident itself and to make the stalker the second character in the story. I felt that the earlier cut had the mom playing second-fiddle and thus brought the viewers attention to the relationship between mother and daughter, eventually mining this dichotomy for the punchline itself. My attempt was to cut the mom entirely (there is also a drama-delaying phone call early on which I cut) in order to: (a) make the girl seem more vulnerable and lonely, (b) stay ambiguous about how she's feeling and about the true nature of the flirtation, (c) to end the dramatic arch on the stalker's entrance and offer the dildo slam as an empowering denouement, & (d) to speed up the entire short, cutting it's runtime in half and keeping the pacing light. What strikes me most about this true story is that-- when viewed by the girl-- it is a tale of stalking and near-rape, and-- when viewed by "the stalker"-- it is a tale of awkward flirtation and ultimately utter soul-crushing rejection. In the end, it is really only a story TWO people shared, even if one of the people afterwards shared it with her mother before sharing it with us. It is a love story gone terribly awry. It was with this in mind that I chose to put the title card in the beginning (unlike the earlier cut), while also lulling the viewer into a rom-com comfort so as not to expect the eventual shock.
Thanks to everyone involved in the original cut, and special thanks to the Meta ladies: Metaphorest for the sound, Metafictionist for the fury. Enjoy.
I recently saw at a London Waterstones book shop that in the section of bookshelves reserved for recommendations from staff there was The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories with a mini review. I finally got back there today with my camera in tow, asked nicely to take photos and the lovely people said yes. I wasn't sure what the copyright situation would be with the other books so I covered them just in case.
Quite fittingly, the review also states that the story on page 68-69 was their favourite.
‘His hands were weak and shaking from carrying far too many books from the bookshop. It was the best feeling’
- The Bookshop by sallyeloo.
I always go to the recommendation section of this chain whenever I'm in one and realised how perfect it is that a product from hitRECord that uses that word as a matter of pride wound up in that section.
After years of telling exaggerated people stories, the fish didn’t think his friends would believe his real story of the one that got away.
An illustration for aimeecanto's tiny story 'Silence!'
'He wanted to scream to the world how much he loved her, but they were at the library, so he whispered.'
The way I pictured it with them hiding behind a book and being surrounded by books, I figured that it may as well be in a Library of Tiny Stories.
All of your gentle happier times
seem so faraway
and it is impossible now to think about anyone else
there is only you and all of your emptiness.
Thank you for your patience as our web developers work to fix the Dashboard issues. We know how important the Dashboard is so here are a few suggestions to work around the current tech issues:
* Bookmark RECords that you are following the conversations of. That way you can quickly check in and view the thread and contribute your remarks accordingly.
* Bookmark the profile pages of the artists you follow on the site. On their profile page you can easily keep track of their recent records and recommendations.
* Bookmark collaborations you are involved in. By clicking "Recent" the most recent contributions to that collab will be filtered.
Please let me know if you have any questions. You can post a remark in this thread or e-mail support@hitRECord.org at any time.
