Hey guys. I haven't really been all over HitRECord this week because I was working on my own little projects but I've discoevred some great audio recs, which make the most of this week's RE-RECs. I really think they can be used in many ways here on HitRECord. :)
1. Braun22's 'Clashing Clusters' is a hard-core tiny tune. It wasn't contributed to any collabs and I think it should have been. When I listen to it, I can picture some kind of steampunk opening scene or something to do with the Ravens collab. What do you think?
2. I thought sinking in reverse was brilliant. You don't listen to many reversed recordings anymore and that's a shame. It's a beautiful piece of music and people can do a lot with it!
3. 'Forest Run' is a beautiful piece of music. At first I wasn't sure if I should recommended because I couldn't see where it could fit. I see it now... in my head, I can see the theme of transitions. Amazing photos taken from all over HiTRECord and put together in a video... maybe with a voiceover. I'll work on it.
4. Sanavalon's 'quirky journey' is the PERFECT fit for a children's story. For example, I would LOVE to see more contributions to the 'Child Logic' collab so maybe it could become a HitRECorderly issue? Then the quirky journey tune would be an excellent resource for that.
5. Bell's 'unlikely things' illustration and song is a great RECord, perfect for some REmixing. Personally, I would like to see what these unlikely things are... like rejjie's REmix shows her collecting worms from a corpse. That is unlikely for a little girl! I would love to see more interpretations of this so someone can make a video of this wonderfully quirky and so very HitRECord-y story. :)
6. Apart from tunes and instrumentals, I also found a few songs that showed a lot of talent and promise. I don't know what you guys usually do with full songs, but I have to mention 'Let Me Fall' by PaulWebbMusic. The song is simply enchanting... so honest and open. Mostly I love the lyrics. I was just thinking what wonderful illustrations and ideas could come from lines like 'if I could ever live without a heart'.
7. The other song I loved is by MrMrsAngel, 'paper cranes'. The melody is so lovely that you'd expect lovely imagery to go with it, but most of the similes are just weird, but also true. Again, I don't know HOW this can be REmixed or used, but then again, even if just listening to it inspires someone, then that's the creative process for ya. Have fun!
8. Finally, I just had to add this REC as well. Xobreexo23 is a fantastic artist, which most of you know already. She has pure talent and uses it in amazing ways. So the video Tuesday is just another hit she made for HitRECord. Not sure how this can be REmixed, but what the hell, I just had to give it a mention.
P.S. Note to composers: It'd be much easier for people to find your RECords if you add them to the collabs on HitRECord. My favorite ones are 'background music' and 'tiny tunes'. And I'm sure I'm missing lots!
"Yes, We're Sinking" played in reverse. My favorite part starts around the 1:19 mark, although I do like the beginning (what used to be the end) quite a bit too. The actual lyrics sound a little strange, which was expected, but it kinda makes me wish I could speak in some cool new language.
so I made this here instrumental track for a school project... it got an A so I guess it's good to an extent? I'm pretty proud of it but I don't know what to do with it so.. I'll share with you guys.
