Amazing records this week and some devastating news... 

1. First of all, a member of the HitRECord community passed away this week. I didn't know honeyboy, but it's a sad day when somebody with a big heart is lost to illness. My condolences to Niko's family and friends. I think themetafictionist's RECord says it all, which is why I included it here.

2. On to the summer collection... my favorite pick of the last week (among the hundreds!) is the Ocularis shirt. Let's just say I'm itching to buy one. And it captures the spirit of HitRECord perfectly, don't you think?

3. Kubi's enlightened rec is just... genius! Apart from a brill logo, I can see it being used in a series of REC characters. I suppose I should ask Kubi what he thinks. :)

4. I LOVE belcath's art for the second HitRECorderly. Definitely the best one so far.

5. A stitch in time... is a beautiful instrumental tiny tune, which is said to tell a story in a few chords. And I think it does! Now close your eyes and see it. I'd love to hear some vocals!

6. Rain, Rain is one of my favorite recent illustrations. In the picture, it's clear that something is wrong in this girl's life, and maybe the rain's to blame? I tried to capture that in a tiny REmix, but I'd love to see how other people interpret it. 

7. Moonbug has made something magical again. Call me crazy but I see shapes and worlds in this lovely artsy Rorschach test. What do you see? Can we use it?

8. Alexjackson's portrait reminded me of a Photography challenge I've seen online... the self-expression challenge. You know, kind of like the photos xobreexo23 produces sometimes (her portrait, for example). It's about showing how you see yourself in a portrait. Does anyone think it's worth a shot to do it on HitRECord? Because I certainly think the influx of photos has been very scarce lately!

9. 'Curiosity' by Joab Nevo is a MUST-ILLUSTRATE tiny story. <3

10. janetfelts' story 'dirty bird' is the funniest thing I've read in a while. Seriously, it would make for a hilarious illustration and it has a great lesson! All in one. 

11. When the fishy illustration was featured, it spurred a great deal of tiny stories on... but my favorite one is 'between the lines' by tootwofoursquare. It's not an obvious depiction of the illustration, but it does fit... and it's just so clever and ambiguous. Just the stuff HitRECord is made of!

12. 'Puddle beings' is yet another clever REmix. RaeOsun added her words to mirtle's illustration to create something existential and unique. It's child spirit meets wise soul. <3

13. GabyVaughan's REmix of DianeFT's 'life & death' story is perfect! Of course, Diane's story is pretty awesome by itself. I love these kinds of worldly stories. Definitely a story worth considering!

14. Although there were quite a lot of images for the tiny story called 'parking lot', I especially liked cacheth's vision. It just tickles the imagination. Gotta love unlikely friends!

15. Elayne's tiny maps REmix got a lot of attention this week. I suppose I had doubts about how well it fits the story, but then again, the little details are wonderful. Anyway, it's an amazing image, which can be used in a lot of ways. 

16. The 'deux ex machina' track is... well, you have to hear it. It screams REmix! And I'm kinda stuck on it. :D
