Here are a few songs I think are a great representation of a summer filled with laid-back, eclectic, poppy tunes.
Here is a pretty poppy song that Metaphorest wrote the lyrics for. I couldn't have finished it without you Sarah, so thank you very much for helping out. :D
--UPDATE--
Thanks. Well, I had the music track sitting, collecting dust on my computer with my mumbly vocal idea for about a year or so. I really wanted to finish it, but I often struggle with writing lyrics. Metaphorest is a pro at writing and I asked her if she would like to help me out with the words. I gave her the track and named it, and she returned with the lyrics that fit the title magically. She can tell you more on what she thought would work for the song lyrically too im sure.
I played with syllables/timing and moved a few things around a bit so everything fit into the melody I had in mind. And thats basically it. No other records were used. I will upload the stems soon too. :)
-The Morning Hollows (Matt)
I was overdue for a remix and since I've been loving everything ppeppina has been doing, it felt like the right thing to jump back in the action with. I was going to use the instumental track to make something completely new, but I already really liked what was recorded with the track, so I just played around for a bit. It probably gets a little cluttered in the middle, oh well. Yay! :)
Took some suggestions from Dr. Gory and made a another remix of The Deep Unknown. I changed up the arrangement to add some space for a couple of verses, and gave it a deeper and compressed mix.
When I was working on this song I envisioned taking a nice long scenic train ride across country. I think some of the elements of the song embody that and it could be used as a overall theme for lyrics.
Added some bass and percussion to get a little deeper on this one.
The drums on the last version were pretty messy, so I brought back the original beat and tweaked the production a bit. It's at 94bpm if you want to do anything with it.
[I'm on an 80's kick lately. Could be a good thing. But probably isn't. Anyway, noize.]
i can no longer be the hunter
my heart's just not in it now
the beast will die in time
and the lion we could not tame
has forgotten his own name
i can no longer taste the thunder
the beast will rise in time
and the lion we could not tame
will learn to hunt again
