Oops, sorry guys, it seems that in the first "night room" there is a random pink dot on the wall (a mysteriously similar shade to that of the curtain, hmmm....) and I left the tail off of one of my poor kitties! So here's the tidied up version. thanks.
-played around with different background textures, decided to upload with a transparent background. All the better to remix them with ;o)
another color remix of one of Sojushots' excellent illustrations, monsters, mermaids, castles and kings. thank you. <3
the original drawing came from one of my husband's discarded doodles that I colored and played around with. MaxwellMudd is (besides being the greatest and best person I know) such a talented artist; wait 'til you see what he can do!
This drawing was inspired by lynmidnight's text record, The Briefcase Man:
"He kept his paints and brushes in his briefcase."
... it represents an idea in its infancy (like most of my records).
Its far from what I think it could be, which isn't just "Madame X" but a collection of images inspired by some of the poetry in the public domain. There are a lot of really talented writers here on hitRECord, tons of inspiration for records and remixes, but I think it would be super neat to see some interpretations of some of the older (public domain) poetry. thanks.
This RECord was inspired by a line from 'Les Illuminations' by Arthur Rimbaud.
"Don't worry, I'll find you."
This RECord isn't yet what I hope it can become (hmm, like all the rest) but this one has an idea behind it that I think is worth looking at: A star descends (by choice?), and as it is falling through the universe, it is torn apart, separated from it's self. The peices know they'll be drawn together again by like frequency (as in matching energetic vibration, etc.) This can result in nearly any sort of terrestrial relationship, I chose to use lovers ("soulmates"?) because I think "marriage" is a good example of how a single life force, split into two, may be rejoined. thank you.
All across the U.S. children are required to "pledge alligiance" to the American flag. This is that pledge, re-written to be more all inclusive. I dont really think children should have to swear their alligiance to anyone, but I still wanted to try to rewrite the pledge in a way that promotes awareness of a global community rather than separation from one another.
Chuck didn't mind spending his life's savings to undergo experimental surgery.
It was worth it to finally get the monkey off his back.
This is a REmix of MattConley's tiny story, Monkey. Thank you.
This one is done at 3300x5100 pixels (or 11x17" at 300dpi) *I like it, but I feel like it is wanting something. Any ideas?* Thank you<3
this is a remix of a photo by MadisenMusic. The baby in his photo was way cuter than to one I drew, but hey, what're gonna do? Thanks a lot.
Thanks for stopping by to see how I make many of my records.
(I'll upload the cleaned up, colored version once it's done.)
thanks again <3
The best thing about this project was discovering a very talented artist that I was previously unaware of. In the spirit of remaining a "secret" santa, I have refrained from "hearting" most of her records, but watch out, a heart attack is on the way. For those of you who haven't seen her work yet, check it out: http://www.hitrecord.org/users/cereus
Happy Christmas/Channukah/Winter/life Cereus! I hope it's magical!!
ps. thanks again, Gaby!
I Am 1954 wrote, "We'll stay winter warm, like two pigs in a blanket."
There are more than two pigs in this blanket, but at my house, two pigs always becomes four.
finally posting a colored version of How I hitRECord.
Thanks a lot y'all!
for some reason I am unable to properly resource ryan patrick's record: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/888754
I resourced julesKD's 'road to single motherhood' because with it, she reminded me that plenty of people choose to become parents all on their own, and that those families are not missing anything :)
DebraLou challenged me to illustrate "that fire (creation myth song)" by seldelaterre which I had not heard before. I can't say how glad I am that she brought this song/artist into my awareness. Thanks DebraLou! I don't think my illustration is nearly enough. This song needs tons and tons of illustrations! But here is my modest attempt to sum it up in one picture. Thanks again <3
