Lyrics:
VERSE 1
City of angels I salute you, pay homage
On your knees in the spotlight, you've come of age
Show what's best of you, the rest of you
Keep it off stage
You'll follow through, you'll know the truth
Summertime, live your youth
Summer of love, come on Romeo, show me yours
And I'll show you mine, so chilled I'm horizontal
Lay back in the 'Wood made of glory and fame
Blood sweat tears so glad I came
To LA
Left all my pain in the tracks in the road
Misused, old news, nothing left to lose
Broke my thumbs, hitchhiked to a dream
All the way, so glad I came to LA
My city of dreams so pleased to meet you
LA
So glad I came to LA
Seal it with a handshake so glad to meet you LA
VERSE 2
Cruising on my own steam
You got nothing on me
I decide my own liberty
Nothing comes for free
I see now, the mean road
Crawled down on my knees all the way now
To live now, this is where I shine now
Put my hands in the imprints of the ones before
Cos I know in my heart I've got so much more
To offer myself than what's in my past
This summer, this heat, California I'll last
Forever
And ever
Keep it in the rear view
Throwing all my worries out as I pass Malibu
Onwards, upwards, my history won't define me
A microscopic part of what I was born to be
Sitting by the ocean, my future's in motion
Let the waves wash my hands clean
It's time to begin, to commence
No second chance I've come all this way
So glad I came to LA
wrote this song on marke's Tiny Maps piece. Decided to only use pieces of other RECs to assemble the track.
Thank you to each of the unwitting contributors!!

On monday night, me and my good friend Bekky noticed a lady outside the locked and empty market in camden bawling her eyes out and sitting on the floor. We introduced ourselves and asked if she liked to come with us, she did. She was called lillian and she was clearly a very troubled woman and I hope nothing more than for her life to get better. anyway, I doodled her just now so I don’t forget.

Inspired by Wirrow's tiny story, and trying to show the town that came to my mind, this is the result of what I did today in my spare time.
I'll keep adding things (if they look good in the composition), but for now I leave you this image so you can use it as background for scary stories too.
I had so much fun doing it!

Okay, here's my favorite piece by Malicore with a Vintage Case keyboard track by yours truly. Not really mixed, but good for reference purposes. I've also uploaded and resourced a wav file of just the keys for editing and mixing purposes. Enjoy... the ride :)

I wrote and sang this tonight. Yay! Would love it if people added more stuff to it.
i love this bumper by lydiasaskia
i wanted to play around with it a little bit - added some visual effects to make it look like an old film and added some audio effects of a projector and record scratches.
i hope its useful!
i've wanted to do something with krrr's the ballet remix of jcpeterson's awesome beat since the first time i heard it - that thing is increadible!!
i got my hands on avid for a few hours and threw this together as a rough piece.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I wrote a song with the old dial up sounds. Why you ask? Don't ask silly questions, I reply
So in the spirit of collaboration I thought it would be cool if someone sang this song instead of me. You all have better voices than me anyway, lol.

Wooo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
All day fun in the summer sun, always at a slow pace, never gonna run.
All I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
Woo
Cause all I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
No work and all play, all day sippin and smokin in the summer rays
Cause all I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you in the sunshine
Woo
All I wanna do is spend some time with you and have a good life.
Calling all DRUMMERS, BASSISTS, and HOWLERS!!!
DRUMMERS: thinky sexy and creepy. I know that might seem ironic, but the two go together well. Use 60's retro tones. Put the swing of a woman's hips in your groove.
Come in on the first chorus (don't touch the first verse). remember to hit that musical break on the last bar of the chorus and the verses- hit the one and then pause for three counts. Feel free to do a quick pick up back into the beat. During the musical interlude at the end go crazy. Build that section up with fills and symbols. Then let it collapse on the 5th progression's end, so that that last progression shrinks back down to a more tranquil sound. ALSO. Please record to this track but do not mix your drums into the track... just upload your stems solo style.
BASSISTS: sexy creepy stalky bass. Hit the root notes and creep around sparsely between them. Come in on the first chorus (don't touch the 1st verse). Remember to hit that musical break on the last bar of the chorus and the verses. During the musical interlude at the end run a little more. This is where the song explodes and all the wolves come out to play. ALSO. Please record to this track but do not mix your bass into the track... just upload your stems solo style.
HOWLERS: We need more howls! Record yourself howling, snarling, etc and add it to the collab!
Chords: Gm, Cm, D7, Cm, G#, Gm
Tempo: Largo. 55 Bpm.
Please contribute your records to the wolves in the woods collab, and source this 7.0 record. (i.e. don't source Wolves in the Woods 4.0) Can't wait!
This is a brand new song I wrote about a week ago. It's usually faster and more upbeat but I decided to try it out with a lounge vibe. It's a little rough because it's new and will probably get better as I practice it more. I'd really love to add some instruments to this if anyone would be interested! :)
This came from my snooping mailman idea: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/682495/forum
Maybe this is not going to be (in) the final product. I just really want to present the story idea and the way to present it.
I was thinking they're already married. Past the honeymoon phase. But still in love. and The guy's a traveling salesman. This trip will be the longest time he's been away from her. And that's when she starts thinking about their relationship. I tried to act out how their feelings for each other are changing. As you can see, towards the end the nail polish has been chipped.
But I don't want this to be story of that tingly feeling in the relationship => to "falling out of love"
I want it to be tingly feeling => doubting => realizing what they love about each other => and then that just strengthens their love for each other because they grow up together, learn to sacrifice for each other.
bit cheesy? falling out of love themes seem cliche to me now.
details are pretty important:
with nail polish = a lady
without nail polish = a guy
i tried to make the handwritings look different but i'm not sure if i've accomplished that.
in case you couldn't read my handwriting:
Michael: Just finish packing. Gosh, this hurts.
Rachel: I miss you already. And I'm missing you way more.
Michael: stalling. Couldn't get on the cable car. Is there any way we can divide the days.
Rachel: then prisoners of alcatraz won't be able to understand.
Michael: my buckets overflowing of love.
Rachel: the clam chowder don't taste the same without you. Really missing you - Rachel
MIchael: wishing you're here with me at San Jose.
Rachel: Turned on the Tv and Full House was on. The opening song showed this and reminded me how big the hole is. Missing you so
Michael: Sending you my love from San Jose. Someday, our future house would look a tiny bit like this. Smaller fountain and maybe a maze bush. And blue roof tiles instead.
Rachel: I like compactness! The neon lights against the victorians really complements each other.
Michael: Loving you all the way from Grand Canyon. Let's bathe here someday.
Michael: If I win the lottery, I would buy this park and populate it with our kids.
Michael: Mark the date. This is where our 50th wedding anniversay will be.

Just a witchy sounding hip hop track I made.
Co-wrote the lyrics of a little "country/rock song" awhile back with some slide guitar arrangement.
Looking to collaborate and complete it if there are any strong rock/country crooners out there in the HitRecord community.
Please forgive the mix ...Oh and yes, that is yours truly "attempting" to sing this thing...
Lyrics by William Gallego & Victor Velez.
Music by: William G.
So you think your life’s hard now.
Boy you’ve got one coming…
It'll be over - before you know it...
Man that’s a rough deal.
There’s this girl over there you see she’s got one coming
And she’s know nothing...but she’s knows there’s this you see
Her days are spent worrying
Man, that’s a rough deal.
It’s a mystery to me how most get through
But then there’s no one looking out for you
Man, that’s a rough deal
When some ones heart’s beating next to you,
And you still feel left with nothing.
Man, that’s a rough deal...
Don’t give me a rough deal
Won’t take that rough deal
Her heart can’t take it anymore
She wants no sympathy, Then don't look for me
I just wanna help!
When there’s no one looking out for you and the
tears stream down your face
Just remember, you’re not the only one
With a rough deal
I’ve got a rough deal.
He’s got that rough deal.
Don’t want that rough deal
Fuck that rough deal…

Hello guys,
Probably, tomorrow I will not be able to upload this here, so I'm doing it today. June 15 is my one year anniversary on the site, but actually, I said June 14 in this video. Please, ignore that.
The video is my way to celebrate with you this entire and wonderful year and also a possibility for you to know me better. I hope you like it.
Thanks again for all your kind and support,

You can't expect, cause all these things are changing like the seasons do
But then again, I shoulda known, that things won't change, won't change
When they're just me and you
I don't know why, why we couldn't make this work
When we're both two people, that lived in ways we weren't
I don't know why, I don't know why
Why It wouldn't work
I guess we knew, we only knew everything we weren't
Baby, you're beautiful
But if i know, If I know us
I know, we weren't
Baby, you're beautiful
But baby, I know we weren't
If I know us, Please believe
that I still remember
Everything we weren't

A sad love song...I would love if people could add to this, maybe sing alternate verses, add harmonies, more instruments..i think this could sound lovely with strings or another guitar/piano melody

Lyrics:
Took a map and trampled out my way
I told you I was waiting there for you
Waiting there for you
And you said
You're just an island in the sea
Rootless, homeless
Longing for some company
But you and I we're never meant to be
Cos lovers are just friends with the lights turned out
And home is just a feeling that will pass
And feeling low's just the other side of a delirious high
And love was never built to last
You'll be the end of me
As long I hear whispers only one thing
My heart will hear the other
It will say
"You're tired now..sleep
The time has come to choose
Either way
I know my heart will lose
Cos lovers are just friends with the lights turned out
And home is just a feeling that will pass
And feeling low's just the other side of a delirious high
And love was never built to last
