What, what is this? Stuff all about love. People talking with faces and things. Why? I don't know, I never plan these idea things, they find me and I just roll with it.
<3
Here's a little bit on love from my perspective. :)
I really debated posting this after I did it, since it's quite personal. But I realized that I haven't talked much about my grandmother. It's been a year since I last saw her, and several months since she passed away. Gimik Jo's video made me think of this moment. Although it was sad, it's a good last memory.
I believe that this is love.
soo, a few thoughts on that silly thing we call love.

here's how and why i fell in love with the most beautiful thing in the universe: mathematics. (mortifyingly enough, i get very emotional when i talk about it and almost started crying at the end... aaawkward... i also forgot to cover some other important points, namely how i joined hitRECord so i could spread my love for math in a fun, interesting way... perhaps i'll save that for my next video :D)
video is not available at the moment (it is probably hiding in SHAME!) so please download for now, or let me know when you can finally view it on here :) it's a bit long though, perhaps i'll try cutting it down later...
Three examples of love in my life. I had to split the video in three parts because I didn't have memory on my camera, but now it's all pieces together. Thanks for watching and please be patient with my english hahahahahahaha

I am going to have a daughter this summer and this afternoon I got my first real glimpse at her. It was an experience of immeasurable beauty and joy.
While it is one thing to see the whole body in its entirety, it was particularly amazing to watch the heart beat. The ultrasound camera is creates so many visual perspectives and sometimes you are viewing the exterior of the baby, and other times you are suddenly within the body, viewing the organs and the muscles.
I'll never forget one particular moment where the heart was the main focus on the screen. It's beating at around 142 bps and it looks so tiny, and yet it's so prominent. But what really struck me was the baby's whole body seemed to just be a glowing outline. In that series of moments it became clear to me that our bodies truly are just physical vessels.

Oh, and I absolutely loved what the technician said to us about her job and how much she loves doing it. I just had to use that audio byte to open the video.
Watching the old home movies that fraeulein uploaded made me think of the times when my brother Brendan and I were growing up and we'd play around all day long. RegularJOE's "Mommy & Me" makes for such a wonderful soundtrack to family memories.
The icon for this RECord is my brother and I on our front steps. I must've been worried about the goings on of the Reagan administration that day, hence my paranoid expression.
Some of my thoughts on love...This was really long so I tried to cut it down a bit, so sorry if some things seem out of place..Okay so I kinda ramble a lot...
Chemicals, chocolate, being single, and how falling in love is like falling down a ladder.
Sorry about my unorganized processing. This is admittedly more for me than for the site...
I cut it down a bit (there were a lot of ums and long pauses) but mostly this is unedited. Hope I'm not too late for this to be of some use.
Oh, look how I look proud of my own joke about Fatboy Slim !
Hope this is remixable for tomorrow night. Have fun for me guys. ♥
so here's me talking for a bit regarding Love.
i do talk for a bit, but this was the best i could do, and these are thoughts that i felt like offering to the cause, and i hope they come to some use, for the Fall Formal documentary or otherwise.
a topic i thought about a lot was how myself (and many here on HitRECord i'm sure), being an artist, and someone who expresses oneself in song/lyric, expresses the emotional range of Love, from ups to downs and all that jazz. Maybe this can further elaborated on, but i find it wonderfully fascinating how songwriters, or any kind of artist in general, expresses Love, and their feelings towards/about it, in many different ways.
Happy REmixing <3
A remix of the RE: Love conversation between RegularJOE and Mr. & Mrs. Graceless during the 2011 Fall Formal.
Lizziemackie's "To This" has been somethng of an inspiration to me as of late. I love how the message of her song has a sort of transcendant quality about the universality of love. The song can be attributed to anyone you have deep compassion for: lover, sibling, parent, child, friend, even the love of a city or idea. At first I wanted to try to encapsulate all of it in the entire 3 minutes and 40 seconds of the video, but then I stumbled upon eaneikciv's videos, and the idea to have the song take on each aspect of the idea of love in its entirety struck. This video is about the most basic and primal of loves, that between parent and child. I searched through the site for as many videos of hitRECorders and their children, and hitRECorders as children, as I could find, and I edited them together with the music. By far the funnest time I've had making a RECord. And then I remembered text I had seen from a few pieces written on love, and I combined words from "...so about love..." and "Understanding Hearts" for the intro to the video. I added a record needle on vynil sound to throughout the song, because I think it lends to the feeling of cracking open those old home movies and reliving those memories. My hope is that every aspect of the message of Lizziemackie's song can be explored through the videos we have, and we can have kind of a collection of "To This" videos. If not, at the very least, I hope this RECord brings a smile to your face. Because it certainly did to mine.
i loved this tiny story when i first saw totallyjamie 's tiny film.. i knew i wanted to bring it alive with actors..
i hope you guys enjoy this one as much as did making it
special thats to spara for helping with the shoot
first song by PASIV, bwah.
Shot by CameronSmith in Central Park, NYC.
Thanks so much for featuring this! I stumbled upon reneg88's page one night and loved all his songs, which are titled "Music for Short Film", and wanted to use one to make a simple and sweet piece. So I pulled my husband into the bedroom when he got home from work that night, and wound up with this.
It is amazing to see all the great results of this clip! If anyone wants any clips in the orginal color format to use in a remix let me know and I can upload them.
For the emotions collab and love collab.
The first time I heard this song I couldn't think anyone but that person to record this video.
Ok, I really love this poem. I'm not an editor, I took some classes in college, but nothing that makes me an expert on it, but anyway I couldn't resist to do this. I found this footage and I think it's perfect for the text. Todd's voice over is absolutely amazing and I also used some footage on the site as well. Maybe, some of you can add even more footage or remix it into another story. I really hope you like it.

nothing really special about it, just a cute little video, inspired by @fractaldust's short story :)
and @Metaphorest song is too cute and was stuck in my head, so I combined both things. :)
*Updated: So I created this record a couple years ago, and when I saw the new themed collaboration "Fantasy," this was the first record that came to mind. I have sort of a quirky mindset, and as a child I would always wonder what kind of personalities would come from non-speaking things (teddy bears, chairs, tables, cars, etc.) What would they be like? Its probably one the reasons I love being an artist, because I can create such fantasies in my head and bring those answers to life. I believe that sometimes through a fantasy we can find a good sense of release, especially when it involves the imagination, aka the fantasy's neighbor. :0) Ya see what I mean? I just gave fantasy a neighbor, who does that?
Original Text When the Record was first posted:
Hooray!!! The short film is finally here! So this is the silent film version, the original song that I used for the video I cannot put here on HitRecord, so perhaps any lovely musicians can remix a cool song for it. If you would like to see this video with the original song you can see it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH40RaJyPpI). <3
I've had the image of a person communicating through index cards for some time, and when I was distinctly not paying attention in Theatre 381 yesterday, this came to me. The music is 'When It Turns Cold' by Sarasota, who has some truly great stuff, you should all check it out!
I got inspired to make this for Re: Occupy Wall Street but it might be a good Re: Love contribution as well. It still needs music. It still needs a lot, probably. But I think the right score could make it really resonate! Also, just want to say that I'm really grateful to have a place to share art and a community to make things with! It's an honor. P.S. - I have a higher res version of this but the file size is just too gigantic.
I wanted to try some things out with the intro. Do they work?
Here is the audio RECord of Joe and Neil Patrick Harris' performance of rcjohnso's "Love Is" at the hitRECord Fall Formal on October 10, 2011. WAV version, 48K /24 bit.
This is the shot of RegularJOE and Mr. Harris that was projected onto the big screen. It's raw and uncut but I married the picture to JeffPeff's audio from the soundboard so remixers and editors enjoy! Fall Formal 2011 - Los Angeles - October 10th, The Orpheum Theater.
