Cerberus Dares to Be Repeated has reached the self-imposed limit of RECords (this is a very good thing, truly), so here's to starting album number four, hooray!
To say it like I said (thrice) before: Inspired by a soundtrack compilation that cerebis initially set up, I am going to rustle up an ongoing collection of some of "the embarrassment of riches" of music that I find on hitRECord that I listen to when walking, driving, dancing, cooking, and (especially while) writing.
I am very much a "write the scene of the music that I hear" type of person. The mood I'm already in, coupled by the interpreted mood of the music, can produce all sorts of stuff-- I call it the movie projector inside of my head. Sometimes all I do is loop music, so that a particular mood might stay in place.
This is the music that dares to be repeated :-)
RECords used:
-Rainey's vocal
-Madisen's guitar/bottle (REversed)
-Gwen's drum loop
Production, Piano, Rhythm-Matic, Synths, RECord treatments: meeeeeeeeeeeeee
<3
So I just joined HitRecord and thought I'd share a recent song I wrote and recorded. Feedback is most welcomed!
This REmix features four drum loops made by GwenInterrupted, which were themselves sampled from RECords. Vocal is a REmix of my accapella RECord.
REmix production, arrangement, guitar, bass, keys and voice: me
*This is a Stereo RECording*

I love andrewhip's poems, and since WILL YOU READ TO ME is one of my favorites, I wanted to turn it into a song... I hope you like it! You can find the poem in the resources, I remixed it a bit.
I also looove "monsters, mermaids, castles and kings" by sojushots, so I used it as custom icon!
Enjoy <3
Instrumental version in case someone wants to fiddle around with this.
ƸӜƷ Hey awesome dudes and dudettes ƸӜƷ
This is my musical response to " Always light" by TheSerpent and illustrations by Tdolan towards
" Departures" short film collab.
Whoop!
I suggest this as a background towards potential footages and movie sequences for anything you like anyway free hit, free will...there is lots of interesting textures and atmosphere...
You can chop it, sample it, re-sample it, invert it , god knows insert parts of the poem " Of messengers and wolves..." or make your own transcription:)
Btw...
I've got plenty of homeless recordings wrapped in the silence on my hard drives... and i hope you will find them useful towards anything you like. I hope my music can inspire REc-mixers.
" Evocative Transcription", means simply a visual representation of a piece of music based on how it is interpreted by the listener. If you interested in this more check Xenakis na John Cage scores!
Happyrecs!
P.s I'm multitracking toitoi tomorrow
ƸӜƷ ƸӜƷ
I wrote this song once I stumbled on this picture.. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m70fslhNBd1qlxbk4o1_500.jpg It's probably one of the most amazing things I've seen, so I made up a really sad story to go with it, and that's where this little tune came from
130 bpm
A remix of KellyMarieDay's awesome track, "Silk," with some samples from the work of michellek (strings) and Robo_J (slide guitar effect).
I had this big inspiration a few minutes ago, so I just had to record it... It's a tiny song I just wrote (it lasts only 1min10sec), and, because it was important for me to get the lyrics right, it's in Finnish! Hahaa I wonder how it sounds to you...
(For those who didn't know - shame on you! - Finnish is the language we speak in Finland which is a country in Northern Europe. You know, the country Conan O'Brien loves.)
Here are the lyrics - in Finnish and in English... enjoy my bizarre language<3
-
On elämä kummallista tosiaan - Life is very strange indeed
Täällä yksi yössä laulaa vaan - Here this one is just singing
Vaikka pitäis mennä nukkumaan - Even though it's time to sleep
Mut aika on huijari, pelkkä haamu - But time is a cheater, only a ghost
Tääl voi olla yö, mut tuol jossain on aamu - It might be a night here, but somewhere it's morning
Siellä heräilen parhaillaan - I'm just about to wake up there
Nää sävelet ilmassa soi yksinään - these melodies fly alone in the air
Ei niistä kiinnostu yksikään - and absolutely no one cares
Kuluvat sekunnit mua säestää - the passing seconds are accompaning me
Tää hetki on mun, jo nukkuvat muut - This moment is mine, others already sleep
Talo ja taivas ja piha ja puut - The house and the sky and the yard and the trees
En vois pyytää enempää - I couldn't ask for more
Mut hetken kestää hetki vaan - But a moment lasts only for a moment
Se on ohi ennen kuin huomaatkaan - It's gone before you know it
-
Nectar.
A work in progress. Still unfinished.
The music is by me and me alone. I wrote this ;)
It's what i do :)
Thank you for reading.
Pip.
grooving to Robo_J's music. Lyrics might make a good base for someone to create from. (I can sorta hear a man read Metaphorest's Sorrow Bird over this.)
Songs of sorrow
Sang by sodden souls
Echo around these hollow halls
And make all warmth grow cold
This needs some explanation as many will find this particular track rather annoying and too loud. I officially started composing music when I formed a metal band with 2 of my friends 7 years ago. At the same time I had passion for contemporary classical music. As I stopped playing metal music many years ago, I still enjoy going back to borrowing some of its elements and integrating them with piano. I hope this explains a little what I'm on about.
Sometimes the pressure of one take is necessary to create something wonderful
Thanks to the rising 7 for his track A Stroll Down the Street that would inspire anyone who had a pulse!
And Ashes to Ashes ... you knew I loved these words of yours from S.U.M.M.E.R. <3
ZIP of STEMS HERE ..... http://www.hitrecord.org/records/882039
One of my favourite tunes on HR by wirrow. I wanted to give it a classical touch.
Well Kelly here it is .... Our little monster lullaby!!!
I just followed my spooky little heart on this one - thanks for trusting me to do so !
thank you for inviting me to have fun on this <3
I would love to hear big mad thundering drums as it builds, more specifcally like big toms or timps!!
anywho...
LITTLE MONSTER LULLABY
SING TO ME
THERE IS ONLY ONE SONG I NEED
I'M A LITTLE MONSTER AND I CAN'T SLEEP
DID YOU KNOW LITTLE MONSTERS HAVE SCARY DREAMS?
DID YOU KNOW THAT MY HEART CAN BREAK?
DID YOU KNOW I WISH I WASN'T HATED?
DID YOU KNOW I WASN'T EVEN CHASING?
BUT THEY RUN.
THEY RUN
THEY RUN
SING TO ME
SING ME THE LITTLE MONSTER LULLABY
SING ME THE LITTLE MONSTER LULLABY
SING ME THE LITTLE MONSTER LULLABY
I'M A LITTLE MONSTER AND I CAN'T SLEEP
DID YOU KNOW LITTLE MONSTERS HAVE SCARY DREAMS?
DID YOU KNOW THAT MY HEART CAN BREAK?
DID YOU KNOW I WISH I WASN'T HATED?
DID YOU KNOW I WASN'T EVEN CHASING?
BUT THEY RUN.
THEY RUN
THEY RUN
sing to me
some people like Dial Up
got myself the eastwest complete composer's collection (finally)
ambient drones and improvisation wheeeeeee
also this was originally a score for a short film so perhaps you should also use it as a score for a short film.
a bit different than usual, and some recycled old songs of mine.
Went to an old mans house today to buy some jars, turns out his entire house was full of old jars. The garage, backyard, living room, everything. He claims to have over 500,000 jars. He then gave us a tour of pretty much every type of jar he has, super eager to share everything he knows. Three hours later we left with the 12 jars we came for
love what Bell added and REmixed to my Beat 321
so i returned the gesture and REmixed her
leveled and panned out her vocals. mixed in malicore's drum loop as well.
enjoy.
and thank you Bell :)
Anybody for some backup vocals?
Original song: Babbish

Listen Loud!
lil' bit of Motown rhythm for your ears.
even made it a mono RECord, just like the ol' days
this was RECorded straight up raw in the empty tile-floor living room of the house I was moving out of in Orange County 2 years ago. all reverb you hear was the natural room ambience.
guitars, bass, drums/percussion - me
this could definitely use some words and melody. maybe even some extra instruments.
i had some trouble thinking of a bridge, because it would have made the song go past 3 minutes (big "no no" in Motown rules), but if you got suggestions re: structure just holler
i had an idea for a vocal melody, but i'd like to hear what someone can come up with.
ladies, think Diana Ross & Martha Reeves
fellas, think Smokey Robinson & David Ruffin
0:00 - 0:15 ~ intro
0:16 - 0:42 ~ verse 1
0:43 - 0:57 ~ pre-chorus
0:58 - 1:13 ~ chorus
1:14 - 1:20 ~ (drum/bass break)
1:21 - 1:47 ~ verse 2
1:48 - 2:03 ~ pre-chorus
2:04 - 2:18 ~ chorus
2:19 - 2:41 ~ fade to end
This one is also different. Just for fun :)
I'd love to see if anyone could add anything to this cause I feel like it's not complete.
I had just finished recording backing vocals for a REmix I was working on for Christopher Harn's instrumental, when I saw that Ashes released a REmix of her own. I listened to it, LOVED it, and coudln't help thinking how interesting our two efforts could sound together. I changed my lyrics a bit, finished recording the thing, and did a quick mix using both REmixes. (Thanks again for the stems, Ashes!). And this is the result.
(As always, the mix could probably benefit from some additional work... But this'll do for now :)).
Don’t be afraid
I won’t hurt you
I just wanna play
Come see my monsters
Come on come on come on out and play
Don’t be afraid / You should come out
I won’t hurt you / Come on, come out and play
Those guys with the talons / You and I
And menacing grins / Will give 'em hell
Are just my monster friends
Come come come see my monsters / You won't recall
I won’t hurt you / What happened here today
Come come come and see my monsters / You will never tell
I won’t hurt you
Don’t be afraid
Loving what christoper.harn did with his beat March of the Monsters (<-go heart it!), loving what's coming out of the KvM collab in general.
(Please excuse my mixing, might be a bit loud)
Don’t be afraid
I won’t hurt you
I just wanna play
Come see my monsters
Come on come on come on out and play
Don’t be afraid
I won’t hurt you
Those guys with the talons
And menacing grins
Are just my monster friends
Come come come see my monsters
I won’t hurt you
Come come come and see my monsters
I won’t hurt you
Don’t be afraid
I was thinking of driving in my car, windows down, late LA night. Then I was dreaming of a song I wrote that was filling the space and shooting out the windows into the city. Then I wrote it.
Ryan Patrick asked for something over the top of his remix 'Let's Get Low Now' so err here is...something! Yikes! Inspired by Pamagotchi and Tricky.
Sitting pretty in your little self-blown bubble
Never get scared if you filter out the trouble
You’re waxing apolitical a physical aversion
To alternating attitudes and opposite versions
Put your head in the sand
Put your brain down the drain now
Take your dose of saccharine never come down
Put your head in the sand
Put your brain down the drain now
Take your dose of saccharine never come down
People in trenches digging up bones
While the glass house people keep throwing up stones
Thinking bulletproof, plexiglass gated homes
Keep them safe from the blast, keep them safe from the drones
Bliss is oblivion; living in sin
Is refusing all the evidence you don’t let in
Through your first class gas mask, sneering from the parapet
Stayin’ undercover so you don’t get wet
I’m being hypothetical but if you’re really ethical
You won’t drink the water if the glass is only half full
Reaping all the benefits of war resources
With your little belly full of all four courses
I wanted to pay homage to those fantastic 80's scifi film scores. Mostly inspired by the intro music for Captain Eo. The movie playing in my mind shows this to be the death scene of a hero..
this song was something completely different then i had done before but i had alot of fun doing it. I hope everyone enjoys what i have created with this and the vocals i decided to use.
I would like to thank WilliamG and KellyMarieDay for creating a great beat together and i hope they also enjoy my addition to it.
Thank you and enjoy!

Added vox to Dr. Duke's awesome track Dial Up.
Keep it on the down low
I’ve gotta stop this download
The terrabytes are biting
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Now we better back up
Fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Come on baby back it up
This fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Running out of disk space
You’re all up in my network place
My files are overwriting
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Moving moving so fast
Don’t break the spell we cast
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Now we better back up
Fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Come on baby back it up
This fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
I heard this superb song by Metaphorest and could not resist working on it!
Development on RECord posted by Ola (inspired by TDolan). In contrast to my previous electroacoustic remix of 'Eerie' I wanted to make a simple alternative using nothing but piano. My piano part (actually a half minute segment appearing as a loop three times) was recorded at Ola's flat last year while babysitting :)
Delay and reverb were added to the piano to fit the ambience of the vocal track.
This is a piece of musid I composed and played called 'Solitary Flight'.
i think it also goes well with The Road collab as a solitary traveller down a lonesome road also works.
I decided to improvise on the theme of "Cold" for Tori's 10 minute writing challenge! Writing music counts, right? So yeah, this is just 10 minutes of me playing random stuff of the piano (actually I went 13 seconds over. I am so sorry). I was picturing a snowy forest the whole time soooooo yes.
Since it's improvised, there are quite a few screw-ups. Sorrrryyy I'm not a crazy perfect robot person like Mozart. Also, I got a bit bored at one point threw in a little surprise (I think it's somewhere around 8 minutes), see if you can recognize it!
I'm hoping to start doing these piano improvisations for every writing challenge. Hopefully I'll get better at it! :x
Finally made a mix of Monsters that highlights Ashes and Joab's marvelous vocals! :)
I want this to be the first single on my upcoming debut album. It's a song about intimacy and if you read in between the lines, a little something else!
I watched the film 'Into The Wild" the other day and it left me feeling rather emotional! This was the outcome.
I made a vocal melody and wrote lyrics for Craig Sutherland's instrumental. This was originally for something else which is why it's a little different from my usual but here it is for your ears! Thanks to Craig for mixing!
An original song I recorded using a shitty microphone and an acoustic guitar. I'd be happy to hear it used!
This is an original piece of music that I created using my iPad and my guitar. I'd be happy to hear it in any of your works.
this was a few months in the making, and I'm very pleased to upload this as my 500th RECord :)
~
okay, so there's quite a lot of things going on here:
the MIDI drum kit & percussion, distorted bass keyboard, and SLICER guitar are my original contributions.
the SLICER guitar parts are bits of guitar experimenting that I picked the most appropriate bits from and looped.
the audio of Joe is taken directly from his original video RECord.
the most unique thing about this mix is that, aside from the 3 edits I made to space out his differents parts of the speech, his audio is RAW AND UNEDITED - neither Joe's speech or my drums (which were made before the concept to put them together was made) were set to match one another - quite the happy accident there.
the distorted sounds you hear throughout the mix are actually Metaphorest's voice - her different vocal parts from "Weapon" in fact - spliced, stretched, and distorted
her voice appears elsewhere in different forms throughout the mix (she's the feedback you hear at the end)
the horns were the last addition. they RECorded their parts without hearing this mix, or even knowing how they would sound in it - which makes their seamless inclusion all the more surprising.
(big thanks to Marybeth & Kat for taking the time to RECord their parts for this)
I hope you enjoy this.
Robo J
Drop a letter down Stairs of alabaster
Wrap some newspaper Around your heart strings
To keep the sound in
Is anybody listening?
Give yourself space In boxes set on curb side streets
Shy away from the neighbors and Oh god the strangers, can it wait
You wait
Count down days in chronicles You wince at doors
As they close There they go
These rooms are empty
But these walls won’t stop talking
Can’t escape the memories
Up there with the funniest thing is
Can’t tell that you left from here
It’s raging cold But it’s alright
Is anybody home?
Down stairs hear the radio play
In a dark room locked inside away
From the truth of how you died
Is anybody listening?
“You can’t save her”
Is anybody home?
10 minute writing challenge: STRANGERS.
funny lil' piece of something...
"I saw you leave your apartment
Downtown, alone.
I saw you pacing the sidewalks
Downtown, alone.
I saw you get into your car
Downtown, alone.
Wonder if you'll be goin' far
Downtown, alone.
I see you everyday
& I wonder if someday,
Someday you'll see me, too.
I watched you get out of your car
Downtown, alone.
Wearing your favourite Fall scarf
Downtown, alone.
You were just going for coffee
Downtown, alone.
But wait a second...who is she?
I thought you were
Downtown...alone.
I see you everyday
& I wonder if someday
Someday you'll see me, too.
Now I know, I'm a stranger to you - I see.
But oh boy, You're no stranger to me ;)
LALALALA
I see you everyday (I see you)
& I wonder if someday (everyday)
Someday, you'll see me too (Someday you'll see me too) "
p.s I'm not a stalker.
I PROMISE! ...love meeee.
chanele XO.
I originally wanted to just make another remix like other people were doing, but I thought I'd make it more interesting by remixing it with a record I had previously submitted for this collaboration titled "I Just Need a Little More Time" (http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1003243). The result I would call "We can Go Back Again But I Just Need a Little More Time".
Vocals are shifted up a bit to match the key, tweaked to match the time signature (5/4) and I use some Reich'ian phases later on. As the song continues there are only two dominant vocal tracks at a time. There are 5 different composites (if you include the original by itself as a composite).
If you would like stems, let me know.
So I came across a particular loop put down by tonguecutsparrow. As soon as I heard it, I HAD to put a guitar part on top of it. I added a little hi hat for accent. I hope you like it!
((Also, I got the original tune from the "RE: Loops collaboration", so I might as well contribute it right back!))
Autumnal music, improvised with Mike Sole -piano and Dave Dhonau-cello ("Daidono" on HR) and myself- flute.
Recorded in 2010.
That time i was jobless just moving out with small baby from the house hoping for a new happy beginning.
I think it's remixable and inspiring. Let me know what do you think :)

Song i have written with Mark Johnston. I hope you like it :-) Lyrics were written originally for Tori's 10 min Challenge - "Cold".
Snow Dub
Silence melts my mind
My fears are evaporating
Air so pure, it's hard to breath
I like my frozen lips
I'm trying to talk you
about the steps i left in the snow
The steps i left for you
"Does anybody care who i was"
"Does anybody care who i was"
This snowy sanctuary makes me nostalgic
Night owls are sleeping
In the duvet of the snow
You can't stop memories of the past
Hidden in us, hidden in us
It makes us hibernate
It makes us recollect
It makes us wait
I'd like to think of this as one of those tunes that one of you is in pain,
And then the other has to pick you up from the ashes!
Please let me know if it is your cup o' tea...I'll understand if it is not! : (
Enjoy!
Tempo is 76 BPM.
*Yeah...Don't mind the mix!
A simple tiny tune written for Mixedtapes fantastical Tiny Story: Not Myself.
Lyrics:
please excuse me if i'm not myself. it seems i'm tangled up in other people.
Sometimes when I'm feeling blue I like to make green or orange or yellow songs. Like colour therapy or something :D Here's one bubbly green guitar piece for you! Its still a work in progress, I thought about making it longer and maybe adding some other instruments as well (so far it has 7 guitar tracks), but we'll see. Feel free to do anything you want with this! :)
enjoy <3
all me.
now go dance.
happy 11/11 ♥
been a while since REmixing TCS, but i couldn't resist this one with ChanelyWelly's great vocals
remixed the tracks, looped the "oooohs" and added organ and an old drum part of mine that i sampled for this
sounds great on headphones (hinthint)

when we're apart
our hearts are attached by
invisible strings that
stretch out real far.
they weave through the mountains,
meander around things and birds perch on them
and sing.
Random little Tune.
this is what I call Organic House.
enjoy!
part of the Foxes EP
i have no idea what i'm doing
This could definitely do with a better mix. Bit out of my depth in this genre of mixage and singing too really but it's fun :) Will upload vox separately in case anyone wants to have a stab!
Lyrics
This universe is a verse in someone’s ode
To a bigger communion than we know
Consensus seems senseless
When you’re living with just five senses
Try to fix it even if it isn’t broke
Grab the elephant’s tail and you say it’s a rope
You say it’s a rope
You say it’s a oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
You don’t know
Living with the certainty of your superiority
Claiming all the credit based on paperthin theories
Making accusations breaking out your reason
You can see the forest only cos you put the trees in
Tunnel vision through self-made blinkers
You’re regurgitating but you call yourself a thinker
Consensus seems senseless
When you’re living with just five senses
You’ll try to fix it even if it isn’t broke
Grab the elephant’s tail and you say it’s a rope
You say it’s a rope

Enjoy Everybody!
Hopefully this can be used as a resource for something.
I absolutely loved 1954's remix of my poem into the song "I Can Breathe Again" by Ryan Patrick, so I thought I'd dual up some vocals with him. It's humbling to sing alongside someone with a voice like this guy's. It was absolutely a blast though.
Enjoy.

Started out as a RadioHead-esque type of idea...Added a Sitar synth! Took a turn at Peter Gabriel somewhere!
Don't know what it is now!; )
Throwing it out there for suggestions....anybody!
Please: Don't mind the Mix!
I thought I'd write a song for you that you can use for some poetry if you'd like
My hope: a fitting song for a beautiful illustration that moved me.
