My friend Avid (and his team of interns and friends) has actually already made a really cute collaborative music video for this, and you can check it out on YouTube here:

"Warm Fuzzy Love Song" (2010)
Soft as the sea
Warm as can be
You’re chocolate to me
Hug like a bear
Purr like a cat
Love love love you
I love you
I love you
Soft as the sea
Warm you and me
Strawberry kiss me
Breakfast with you
Desserts for two
Love love love you
You hug like a bear
I purr like a cat
Love love love you
I love you
❤
A few years back I was hanging out at my little local bar having a few drinks, it must have been too early for Italians to drink because it was just me, the bar tender and a little old Italian man. We all started talking and after a few bottles of wine, with some prosciutto and cheese, this little old Italian man told me a story of how he and his wife were happily married and still madly in love after many years but one day, without warning, she passed away. He said he just didn't know what to do. Every night he'd lay in bed looking at that empty place where she once layed, he started drinking heavily, smoking (more than before) and just couldn't sleep, until one day he realised that his wife wouldn't have wanted him to be living his life like this. Once he finally understood this and came to terms with everything that had happened, he slept. I got home that night, and wrote this song, Empty Bed, dedicating it to that little old Italian man and his story. Love is an amazing thing and often portrayed as something beautiful, but what happens when that love is taken away from someone.
This is a track off our CD we made, a live studio recording, The Aroostercrats, here are the lyrics
I can’t sleep no more it’s killing me slowly. Walking round in circles, tripping over bottles empty. Pills don’t work nor alcohol, they only leave me heavy. Out on the streets the cold of night, my breath is steady.
Where did you go, I can’t sleep without you with me.
Children waking from their dreams, to a brand new day. A world so new to them, full of love they find no pain. But I did not dream, no I did not catch a wink. On the bench beneath the tree, I sat and of her did think.
Where did you go, I can’t sleep without you with me.
So I wrote these lyrics a long time ago but started messing around with my toy piano and it all kind of came together.
There's tons of room for additional instrumentation or harmonies. REMIX!!!
This is my remix of Beautiful Kitsch's "Bird Song." (Video Diary should be done tomorrow.) Beautiful Kitsch and I have been collaborating on this one together for about 6 months now. And I couldn't be prouder of how far it's come. I hope you guys like it!
Description (optional) Describe your record here. Or, if you're Releasing a Text Record, type or paste it here.
1, 2, 3, 4!!!!
Added vocals to suzyrene's very remixable piano loop. I feel like I accidentally stole the melody from somewhere...and I think someone else's voice would suit this better - but anyway - here it is! Hope you like it, suzyrene!
Hello
So we meet again don’t ya know
Serendipity is saying let go
It’s a matter of dropping your defenses
Now’s the time for disposing of pretenses
If you wanna let big love in
I don’t mind
Why don’t you name the plan, the place and time
Whatever you decide is fine
It’s a matter of planting your feet firmly
It’s a case of expressing yourself early
If you wanna let big love in
I got scared
When I realised my soul was bared
You caught me kinda unawares
It’s a matter of facing your fears fiercely
It’s a case of allowing yourself to be
Open so you let big love in
LYRICS:
let's play pretend
until the end,
whenever that will be.
we'll dress in gowns
and dance around
and jump into the sea.
we'll float and fly
straight through the sky
in our hot air balloon,
and then we'll race
to outer space
and steal ourselves the moon.
let's make believe
and never leave
our own fantasy land.
we'll sing love songs
forever long,
now wouldn't that be grand?
and even though
inside we'll know
nothing is as it seems,
as long as we're
together here,
who needs reality?
sang my lyrics over wirrow/gwen's amazing song. um... i hope this isn't terrible. <3 be sure to check out metaphorest's song for these lyrics (resourced) - it's the cheerful version. this is the melancholy version...
Lonely as stars may become, restless in dark skies above,
They never tire, rust or expire, leaving their wishes fulfilled.
This I could be unto you, laughing all the way through,
Falling and rising, though never disguising the constant rush of the thrill.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.
As though I was just a grain of sand, washed back and forth on the sand,
With you as the sea, watching over me, I've nothing to lose or to fear.
And sometimes the roles are reversed, in that which we cannot rehearse,
This play we call life, the joy and the strife, perform with a smile and a tear.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.
A fire still burns the by and by, a flame I could never deny,
Honest and just, a symphonic lust, pulling me ever to you.
So let's ride this wave to the end, guiding the break and the bend,
The tide will roll on, present and calm, sharing this love born anew.
(ooh) Roll, roll with the tide.

A song about romance
This is something that just popped in my head. The chord progression sounds kinds like a 50's song to me a little. I don't even know where I got the title from and I dont have lyrics yet, so any suggestions are welcome. If somebody who is good on guitar wants to redo it or add to it feel free. I am going to work on lyrics and vocals myself, but maybe someone elses idea is better, we will see :)
Love is a burden I can't keep it away from me
Love is a burden couldn't see inside is too dark
Love is a burden I don't want to wait for long
Love is a burden I could not give it away if I want
Love is a burden I don't want to get too high
Love is too drunk and I can feel it inside of my heart
Love is a burden I couldn't give it away if I tried
Love is a burden I want to let it rot cuz if I'm not
Love is a burden I don't want to get too high
Love is a burden couldn't give it away if I tried
For some reason, I was deeply moved by the footage of Joe and Neil Patrick Harris talking about love and what it is and means. It was weird to be upset and laughing at the same time, because the hurt and the sadness butted up against the beauty and the wonder of love...it just seemed so eloquently said.
So I felt the need to write this song, which is basically my version of that conversation.
lyrics:
my left brain tells me / that this calculated risk
isn't worth the effort / it's not something i'll miss
and the violent subduer / with his new blade drawn
will slowly cut us open / revealing our tender hearts
my right brain tells me / that there's music in the air
and the longer we postpone it / love will surely disappear
and the sadness we feel / when it doesn't go our way
is only temporary blindness / for the endless light show on display
i'm not sure what to build
but i know it's gotta start with you.
fast forward to the end if you wanna hear the beats and harmonies :) then you can skip the mooshy stuffff Lyrics :oh you wont fall asleep tonight and the bed room lights shine in your eyes show me things ive never seen and the wolf inside you soul will always have a home in minee in mineeeee this fresh falling feeling of love where every stone is gold what the story books never told our bodies fit like gloves and forever we will be like the birds and the bees and forever we will be like the birds and the bees
(the sound snipits in the middle and end are from super old movies, im not sure which ones beacuase they were just random on a wav sound site.)
so this is the first time im ever posting one of my own songs...maybe it will seep into your memory, and maybe it will drown in the sea of records.
please, have at it.
LYRICS
I never felt this close to the other side of the world
had you known I was more than just a voice with toxic words to say
they're stirring inside and it's all that i hide and I've silently screamed them a million times
you're about to set off my pride
but you have your fences
and I gave up my fences to be with you
so come on through
I never felt this close to the other side of the world
had you known there was so much more to lying in the sun
it's stirring inside and you've got me high
I hear a polar difference, but still I'm listening
I love your mask and I love your walk and I love that you've changed the stupid way that I talk
and I love that I already know too well that you hate this song
a big thanks to Pamagotchi for showing me this RECord, which inspired me to REmix, just in time for Halloween :)

I was inspired by easneikciv's 'Yes, We're Sinking'.
(This is still a really rough garage band mix... still adding some tracks and mixing.)
So... maybe we're floating?
What is it about water/sinking/floating/the sea/ocean/rivers that is so enticing for musicians/artists/poets? My band chose the name Sea At Last because of our love affair with the sea.
There should be a RE:SEA...
[Lyrics]
Yes, I think we're floating
yes, I think we're floating
yes, I think we're floating
yes, i think we're floating
you turned to me and said
what's that horrible noise
It's full of seagulls cries
Right before it dies
so familiar now
I remember when we cried like that
Remember when we cried like that
How could we have cried like that
The scene played out above us
with a theater of stars
your clouds they got so hungry
they ate up all my scars
happiness never was a warm gun
I remember when we ran like that
Remember when we ran like that
How could we have ran like that
If we breathe we'll surely sink
Hold still before you think
of all those lost below us
in the sea where gold is rust
and silver is only moondust
I remember when we shined like that
Remember when we shined like that
How could we have shined like that
yes, I think we're floating
yes, I think we're floating
yes, i think we're floating
Heard this lovely little uke tune & this just happened. Sorry for my poor recording equipment. Hope you like it!
:)
Sooner than later you will be right here
Soon, soon
Sooner than later you will be my dear
Soon, soon
I'll be yours and you’ll be mine
Always, always
We can go out and see the world
We can go out and be the world
Or we can just stay in bed
Just can't wait for you to be
Here soon, here soon

First thing that came to mind...such beautiful words and beautiful music.
I know the melody isn't very exciting..but I thought I would let the piano and the words take centre stage ^__^

Loved LOVED AshesToAshes' song using Caseypletchers tune. So I added to it. If you want versions without specific things just ask :)
A quick little original tune.. just for you ! (recorded with iPhone mic, a tiny bit of improv, and lots of love!)
Your Norwegian friend,
Pav
A song I wrote for my wife five years ago. To celebrate our 5th anniversary (today!) I gave it a facelift with the orchestra. I hope y'all like it.
played on baritone ukulele. all percussion created from found items on my desk and a sound sample from an antique vicotrola record player.
saw the dawn in your eyes
dew drops formed a thousand times
before you were born
i knew your blood quite well
restless spirit in your soul
keeps you strong it keeps you bold
you hardly sleep at all now
but i know you don't need to
diggin through your veins too much
panning out your gold dust
i don't know what i came for
but i know i don't seek your treasure
sometimes i don't speak too much
with words i know i cannot touch
or even bring justice
to the love in your heart
so i give my heart wings to fly
so it may live in your sky
and breathe in your air
and bathe in your rivers
i won't dam up your streams
kill your hope or take your dreams
i just want to camp out
in the places you call home
in the places you call home...
This theme is very near and dear to my heart because my band is called SEA AT LAST and we recognize how the sea has been an endless source of inspiration for artists throughout the ages.
The Sea can be a metaphor for so many things. The line between two worlds, two emotions, the masculine and feminine. The sea can be forgiving and welcoming or treacherous and powerful.
I feel a lot of beautiful records could pop up from this!
This is a field recording of me walking down a crumbling rock staircase that stops just at the waves.
I took tommacarte's beautiful poem "the lovers" and composed a short song. I didn't use the whole poem because I didn't want the melody to get too repetitive. I might add the second half, though. Here's the part of the poem which I used:
we are skeletal
lovers, curled
like spindles
wrapped around each
other, a wheel
our skin so bruised
from hitting into
each other, trying
to merge
skin and bones
and skin
and bones
converge
So, how do you like it? I'm grateful for any feedback!
