My random and sporadic image contributions.
As I read RegularJOE's note on the shadow castes started to wonder what a meeting between the top and the bottom of these castes would look like. I thought an eclipse would not only provide the occasion for such a meeeting but could also look pretty cool. So here are the sun, the moon and their shadow children about to stir up the societal structure of Umbra. :)
As you might have noticed ;), this is not on a brown bag but inspiration struck so I just drew on stolen office paper.
I'd been thinking a lot about what this guy might be like; usually the more messed up you are, the more intricate, right? So I thought: THIS GUY IS WEIRD.
That's why the drawings aren't really of things you would expect to see, but are even of things that are just plain creepy like the body parts (pair of lungs, pair of eyes, heart and brain) but to my version of the guy, they show the intensity of his "love".
Also, everything is in pairs like the socks and mittens, or like the scissors and tandem bike. I also thought that the stalker might be meticulous as a reflection of his obsessive tendencies. In fact, everything on one side has a counterpart on the other; for example, there's a flower on each side, corresponding musical notes, the heart and the brain, the lungs and the eyes, the blood and the tears, etc.
I struggled with the look of it so in the end I decided to go for disturbing content and the "cute romantic" look Joe asked for.
It's really just an idea I wanted to put out there, about how obsessive the guy might be and how that might be creepier than anything. I'm going to replicate it on a brown paper bag anyway, just to see how it looks; I hope blue works on brown.
This collab rocks! :D
ps- I took from TotallyJamie's stalker doodle ideas, I thought the heart in his hand was awesome, but I debated with maybe having him shush you, like with a finger to his lips instead?...
So I know I'm like a year late, but I couldn't resist! I fell in love with MMM at first sight/view/read and just had to form, if only, a tiny little part of his world.
So here's an illustration to a little piece of genius called a fauxface. :D
ps- it's kind of a mess but I'll try to work on it some more and maybe cherry in the facehole to the max? (hee hee)
Oh yeah, and, All hail Metaphorest! lol
I love Greek mythology and Icarus is a special favorite of mine, but Day Glo's beautiful poem had me thinking about him in a whole different light. This poor dude (the one in my drawing) didn't fare too much better than the original, but it would be fun to see him dust himself off and try again, right? maybe see him attempt his feat on a sunny day next time? Because it's about flying high and not worrying about the what-ifs, and that's what Icarus is telling ME. Much love! :)
Thought I'd have a crack at the jeerers and bloody-heckers to our gallant Turnip Head Man. Not sure if it comes through, but I thought if the bystanders all had their own mundane quirks, stuff that gets made fun of regularly, then the irony might make the project truly SMASHING!!! lol... I'm okay :P
Just a couple of girls all dressed up and ready for the Fall Formal.
I know it's a wee bit late, but here it is anyway.
This version's got no grass so it's kind of plain, but I thought it might be easier to remix that way, given the case.
Happy new year everyone!
