Let's get this party started:
Some Assembly Required by Meemsie: I thought that this little story was adorable. I would love to see some visual remixes of this ASAP!!
Thank You by CaipiChocolateandCinammon is just an adorable little image. It really shows the excitement of hitrecorders everywhere!
barking mad by sojushots is an awesome, dark image. It is beautifully done. I wonder what sort of remixes we can get from it.
AND NOW FOR MY FAVORITES (because we all know I am IN LOVE with the Myths and Legends Collab by Gaby Vaughn):
La Llorona and En La Casa Azul by pamagotchi: These two songs are absolutely beautiful. I think that they can be made even better by the help of our hitrecord friends by having some background vocals and some instruments added to them. I can't wait to see where these go!!
Wow this is my 100th Record here on Hitrecord and I am already a lil bit over a year part of this community! And with this little record I just wanna say THANK YOU to everybody on this site simply because I love it here! This community is so full of incredibly creative, inspiring and nice people. I am amazed how everybody is treating each other with so much respect and care! I am currently trying to figure out what I really wanna do and I know I am still far from being a real artist but you showed me where I wanna go and what I would like to achieve! So thank you for that and thank you for every heart that pushed my self confidence a little higher =) and thank you for this awesome art, songs, videos, papercuts, illustrations and so on that amaze me and put a little smile on my lips every day :D!!!
Yours Stephanie <3
this is based upon "Chestnut" by Christopher Harn. Although it took a much darker route and I totally didn't capture the fun of Christopher's brilliant story. Maybe someone can remix it into something good :)
Inspired by a recent trip to Frida Kahlo's house, "La Casa Azul"
I would love if someone could add some very gentle, Latin rhythms to this..maybe some guitar as well?
En La Casa Azul // In The Blue House
Encuentro palabras // I find words
En las cenizas // In the ashes
De un viejo valor // Of an old strength
En la Casa Azul // In The Blue House
En los rincones perdidos // In the forgotten corners
En los libros y las flores // In the books and in the flowers
En la cama y las pinturas // In the bed and in the paintings
Encontre su amor // I found her love
Ay ay ay, chiquita // Ay ay ay, little girl
Con tus alas de tersiopelo // With your velvet wings
Y las rosas en tu anima // And the roses in your soul
Olvidate de tus lagrimas // Forget your tears
Inspired by Gaby's collab!
I grew up with stories of La Llorona, and thought I could record a couple of verses of this traditional song. It's kinda creepy and sad, it could do with some instruments, maybe some more voices?
Here are the lyrics:
No sé que tienen las flores Llorona,
Las flores del camposanto,
Que cuando las mueve el viento,
Llorona, Parece que están llorando.
Ay! de mí Llorona, Llorona,
Tu eres mi xunca
Me quitarán de quererte,
Llorona, Pero olvidarte nunca.
A un santo Cristo de fierro, Llorona,
Mis penas le conté yo,
¿Cuáles no serían mis penas, Llorona?
Que el santo Cristo lloró.
Ay de mí, Llorona.
Llorona de un campo lirio,
El que no sabe de amores, Llorona,
No sabe lo que es martirio.
