think of this as one for the fangirls AND fanguys! tee hee. cuz you know they're out there.
been working on this one for almost a year because
a) it's one of my oldest and dearest friend's songs, a GREAT song! so a labor of love b) i was learning the program as i went c) i took long frustration/burnout/REsource-collection breaks
now it's time to put it out there for REmixing and general play. enjoy!
written, performed and sung by Ron Linden, aka ronton. ♥

i was recently in ohio during lightning bug season, and took a lot of video of them. metaphorest mentioned to me that she'd never seen any, so i put this together for her. not nearly as magical as the real thing, but just a little intro!
many thanks to pasiv for his version of megan carnes' "sunday evening". it really pulled it all together for me, emotionally and otherwise.

i'm so, so glad to see this song resurrected, cuz i truly love it, it gets me every time.
i started working on this late last september, shooting the pics and trying desperately to learn my way around final cut pro, thinking i could have something done by that halloween. not only was i way too ambitious, but then dan left us...and it was so not the moment for this.
the truth is, i didn't think i could/would ever finish it.. but with some nudges from sarah (who knew what i'd been up to last year) i dove back in, and here is the result. i hope it does justice to the song.
thanks again to lizzie and sarah for being the beautiful, inspiring creatures you are. and to everyone else whose resources i will now try to track down! with much love. ♥
final piece for an upcoming art show, due today. this is made out of an old wooden box, collages printed on linen paper, ribbon, old glass gems that went thru a house fire, and brass chain. the image are public domain, mostly from the graphics fairy, who is an awesome resource for old-time illustrations.
this is a song i wrote with an old and dear friend from high school (ronton, whose song "baby" is here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/85593 ) one day years ago i sent him the lyrics, deep in the throes of some infatuation gone awry, and he sat down and this came out. originally recorded on guitar, which is arguably the best version, but for this harpsichord version we dubbed in my harmony vocal one year when i was visiting him back home. it's always felt a bit magical to me the way it all came together......

a song i put together for the 2nd version of the MetaForest, which i imagine as a video....but i am swamped with work right now and it looks like it will be ages before i get to it, so why not let you guys play with it? :-) it's basically a repeating theme with variations on each repeat, plus a small bridge. it could easily be edited down to less than its current 3 minutes, so if anyone wants that, let me know.
