PS: All of thhose images could be in color ( she is emotional for the gift, her kiss...). However, everything goes to Black and White when she realizes he is ignoring her. Suddenly, color dissapears..... like this, until the murderer.

Nothing to me gives hope more than life growing against the odds. An abandoned house that has been falling to the ground one piece at a time and the natural beauty embraces it.

A beautiful window in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shangrila, Yunnan, China. Such detail and beauty, not often found in architecture in China.

For my "Window" collaboration.

I have of course a wide shot of the aquatics center, aka the Water Cube, but I also took this close-up for the LED (or something that changed colors) siding of the building.

My idea is, if this were to be used in a REmix, that it could serve as some sort of textural template of some kind. Who knows if it'll even be useful for a REmix, but I think it was pretty fascinating architecture and thus wanted to share regardless.

Scanned 4x5 negative. Frankly, I love to shoot run-down abandoned places. I know it is done a lot but for whatever reason it is what i am drawn to.

how do we grow, grow, grow?

I vividly remember this one moment growing up---I was probably around 7 or 8 and--I was coming home from Sunday school with my dad and brother. I remember that my dad had promised to buy me something from Baskin Robins if I went to sunday school that day. I hated sunday school.--Nothing against God particularly, but rather the people. The kids who came to class fully prepared with their obnoxious bloated heads and thad contained no modesty, as they flaunted fluent Surah's from the Qu'ran in arabic. Most of the girls in my class also wore scarves, something I didn't consider important at the time. I always felt so excluded at Sunday school, even more so than in regular life. Even though these people who ranged in similar skin tones with me--shades of brown, yellow, peach and orange-- these people who shared common cultures and traditions---I felt most alienated from them than with anyone else.I always found that weird. So did my parents. They were never happy with this.

Anyways, we were going to Baskin Robins--and I promised myself I would remember that moment forever. I would hold onto that day--that moment, parking our car in the parking lot surrounded by small Asian owned shops advertising

I took this pic looking up through the "roof" of my tent while camping with friends in Chincoteague, VA. I love everything about being in a tent in crisp, cool air just before summer begins (and it always more fun with friends!).

After recording a theremin snippet for the Morgansen Musical Score collab, I decided to take a snapshot of my REC room. In honor of the Bunnybaby, I decided to opt for an herbivorous dinner option while watching Obama's State of the Union Address. My wolf poster and Elvis Costello poster also snuck into the shot : ) The latter poster also mentions recent Golden Globe winner T Bone Burnett as a "special guest" from Elvis Costello's 1984 Eurosolo tour, which I didn't attend cuz I was too young and living in the U.S., not Europe at the time. But the poster's pretty cool : )

Which me is real ? Yeah it's not hard.

This is an older photo now, from a few months back but the whole while I was taking it I was thinking Alice in Wonderland... and I still have the little cardboard house window thing I made for it. Maybe I should give this another, more Alicey try.

camera obscura

This is another one of my experiments with camera obscura. I covered my bedroom window with black foil and poked a hole in the center. When I woke up in the morning, this is what I saw being projected onto my wall. I thought it was neat so I set up my tripod and did a half hour exposure on film.

It's mornings like this when I don't mind being at work before sunrise, 5 stories up. Most days the only time I see the sun is through the dirty windows but at least I get to see it. I can't complain-it's a job. Even though I'm not happy there it's fine for the time being.

A photo from a series of test shots with my new Leica camera. The natural, deluxe black and white setting was used with overhead chandelier lighting. Because of the camera setting, there was no need to further enhance it with Photoshop or Photoshop Lightroom.

just a tip for all you photographers out there...if you wait in your car hoping that the rain will let up and you can save your equipment...it won't it just rains harder lol.

Just outside the front of my house this spider has taken up residence, and built quite the web for himself, prompting a ghetto of sorts, with new spiders popping up every day bringing with them more webs, of course.
I decided I'd try get some different angles of the spider by opening the window it's right next to. In this photo two spiders are shown, the nearer of the two I didn't notice until after I took this, which prompted me to freak out and close the window I was leaning out of at a furious pace.
I'm no arachnophobic, but I'm also no fan of our eight-legged friends. The light and angle came out interesting, so I thought I'd RECord it. Maybe someone will find somewhere to go from here...

Leica test shot series.

A test shot taken in the guest bedroom of my home at night. The small dim Tiffany lamp was the only source of light for the entire room. This was a test on how well the Leica captured low lighting and reflection. Successful results were achieved. Tomorrow, I go out on location with the magic box.

Geometry is all around us, which is what makes even hallway architecture fascinating.

Its a symbol, a representation of the most beautiful and treacherous things on the planet: freedom. For, with freedom, comes responsibility and hardship.

This tree in the middle of Manhattan has blossoms not just in its branch-tops like most springtime trees, but all up and down the trunk and every single branch! I've never seen such a thing before. It looked like a bridal tree!

This image was taken at an abandoned building in the middle of the Luberon Valley in the south of France. I think it used to have something to do with manufacturing wine but I could be making that up as well.

I was with My grannie this weekend and she took me through all her old photos and told me about my family in Scotland. What a magical weekend
