We all loved the poster Tori made with Wirrow's art so we decided to print and post that one for the first screening! I made a few adjustments to say it's screening tonight (!) and to use our logo (I liked Tori's type treatment, but we want to make the branding consistent since we're doing 3 posters for 3 events). Which leads to the next point:

WE ARE STILL MAKING POSTERS!

We need to make two more specific posters for the shows at the end of the week (spring spectacular & midnight matinee) and we'd ideally like to make them a collaboration between people who are here at SXSW and everyone else....

We'd like to come up with a cool way to make the posters collaboratively here and document that process here in the streets, so if anyone has any ideas for a good concept to do that then release a text record here and share your ideas!

Just another "in progress" chunk of creativity that I scooped out of my think tank. I love music. I always have. I love music and I love the lyrics attached. I can make music to the best of my ability (which is very limited). I CAN'T WRITE LYRICS!!!
I'm actually wondering If anyone was willing to give me any ideas of lyrics as I am some what HOPELESS at writing them.

Influences ( if that helps) are: Postal service, Death cab for cutie, Dntel, Regina Spektor and Iron and wine.

I'm going for a story of possible future relationships that are ended because of one party's fear of rejection and automatic assumption and "knowledge" that they will be rejected. It's really hard to explain, but the point is I've been meaning to get this one down for a while now and have been struggling with lyrics.

I got in the mood of making something a little more electronic. I left the drums with a very military style (marching) feel. Im not quite sure what it could be used for. At first I thought maybe a scene with the queen of hearts but I seem to only be writing music that revolves around her. Anyways Its dark electronic and military. So enjoy and please use it for something :)

Ok so. It's been a while since I've done an actual short. So I wrote the script for this one night cause I just HAD to hit the red button. So I wrote it and then filmed it the same night, so it was done pretty fast. I feel like it could've been done better if I'd taken a bit more time, but it was one of those things I just HAD to get done. I'm not a terrific writer, but once again, I just had to make a movie! I did the music the next day. I recently bought a violin and I have had NO experience in playing violin, so that's why it sounds horrible :)

Hitrecorders! I feel like this movie isn't complete yet, so if anyone could add to it in anyway that would be awesome!

Also, I thought maybe I should use the coloring effect I used at the end throughout the whole movie instead of the end. What do y'all think?

Me and Tom have been talking about doing a version with the poem he wrote for a while now, so hopefully this all works together. I found some lovely music called 'Underneath the lilac sky' by 'ryancohen' which I think fits really well too.

There are a few changes to the original, or rather little clean ups. I've added a new title which I think looks a little more professional, as well as hopefully making it look a little better with some changes to the colour. I also added the hitRECord logo to the end

If anyone can do anything, or wants to with it... please do. I was wondering if anyone could maybe do some graphic titles, or if backgrounds can be made, or just general effects, but I have no idea... haha.

Oh, and hopefully the quality is okay. When I exported the edit it was a massive 700+mb, but i thankfully managed to shrink that down, hopefully without too much loss.

Another small animation me and my friend made... this time a bit longer. It's meant to kind of be the story of creation from a Christian point of view, but with bombs and rockets because it was all a bit too happy for me ^____^

It's a bit random really, but maybe you can get the whole idea of destruction in beauty... I quite like that the trees turn to rockets, and also God cries tears. I dunno. Random.

Oh, and it's a bit shitty as far as animation goes, and quality... so yeah.

I just found out Mark Linkous, the amazing and talented musician of Sparklehorse took his life today.

I suppose however small this is, I wanted to dedicate something to someone who has inspired me and helped me through some difficult times with his music. Though I never met him, or even saw him live, he was a wonderful artist.

I did this ink picture a while ago... At a time when I was really intrigued with the imagery of angels (something that comes up time and time again in the stuff I do), and I thought it might be fitting.

R.I.P Mark. It's a wonderful life.

Thought I would try and have a go at being less depressing for once in my pictures, so what can be any less depressing than young love? I mean sure, one might steal the others sweets, and then maybe get a new love buddy after a very small amount of time and break the others heart for a short moment... but really, it's all very innocent.

Much of my usual thing really...

I actually got asked tonight if I sell my work by one of my tutors at my University, because his wife said she loves the things I do, so on Monday I'll be taking him some drawings for his wife. Of course, I won't be for charging, I draw for the love of it, not to make money, and the work I do isn't anything worth selling yet. Maybe at some point, when I am better at what I do and can scale things up, this could be a possible thing to consider... but yeah. It's amazing that my art might live on in someones possession.

A small sketch (again related to the animation). I had a scanner at this point (sadly not any more) as well as some photo editing software on my old computer (again, I now don't have this thanks to a fairly new computer) so I was able to manipulate the sketch into something a little more exciting.

Just a simple sketch I did a fair while back. It was inspired partly by Owen Pallett, from 'Final Fantasy' (the band, not the video game).

In a sense, we are the homeless... trying to feed our souls.

Pictures are a gateway into the soul. They show us a single moment of time which can be so easily missed with the distractions of the world around us... when we slow down, and stop for a moment, the little gestures often reveal the most about us.

Figured I would post an old-ish photo of myself back when my hair was at a managable cut and my clothes had colour in them.

Just finished this. Essentially the death of the protagonist will be a rebirth, and he will be reborn and enlightened, in essence, his death will be his wake up call, his realisation. The shedding of his hair, will take him back to a fetus like state, the start of a new life.

It's an image i'm playing with, or trying to figure out, and I want to show this idea of death as a birth. Not sure how exactly yet.

Thought I would try my hand at a bumper, but couldn't get an official hitRECord logo onto it (effing Windows Media is shite! I want a Mac so I can use Final Cut!), so it probably won't be used, but it helped me pass some time, and I quite like it anyway. Nothing flashy or special... just simple and sweet (kind of).

Mostly just thanks again for Sundance. We're hard at work figuring out the specifics towards paying all you contributing artists, and this Friday I'll be making the first announcement about that. Also, Alice hits RECord, a looking glass collaboration in the works. Then there's Reluctant Her.

PS - I'm calling this #12, even though there isn't one titled #11 right now. I guess all those Sundance RECquests will have to count for #11. Hey, if anyone wants to cut together a bunch of stuff from Sundance into a Regularity #11, it'd be some holy work!
