A re-record of ntheon's "Contemplative Faerie"

Krike! This F. Jolynnius was ready for a cool, refreshing shower under the waterfall. Oh no! Suddenly she's caught unawares by this hungry seagull. Birds are fierce natural predators who love a tasty faerie treat. Only her faerie magic can save her now - if she can use it in time!

A Spin Faerie (F. Centrifugus, at left) leads a small coven of fay in nature worship ceremonies at the Leaf Temple. Their nature centered religion is the source of all faerie magic. The occasion for this ceremony is to bless the arrival of the white hatchling (bottom center), recently transformed from it's caterpillar (larval) stage. The hatchling will remain in butterfly form for several weeks before again transforming into faery form, at another ceremony.

I happened to catch these faeries in my garden this morning, having an impromptu rehearsal and choreography session for this aerial dance of theirs. It was highly complex and quite beautiful. I sure wish I'd had a video camera but at least I got I still shot of it before they noticed me and flew away - faeries are very skittish little creatures, afraid of humans.

A faerie contemplates the infinite mysteries in a simple drop of morning dew. Legend has it this species of fay can use a dew drop like a crystal ball, to foretell the future.
