the skies were friendly that day.

i don't like flying very much. recording in airplanes calms me down. it helps me forget that we're flying through the air, through weather, really, really high up, in basically a tin can.

After watching Cerebis' Time Lapse Sky, I was inspired to try some clouds. Fortunately, there were fatties near me.

This is Kearny Street in SF. I was playing a little with the levels in After Effects.

The beginning of a storm in Brazil and the faces in the clouds. The music is from the movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain.

I thought this might be fun for some motion in the background of MMM2 somewhere. :)

Hi-res and lower compression version of my timelapse sky. For the full version, use the download link on the heart. This version is at a full 25 frames per second, compared to the 12.5 frames of the original record

This is quite large, and at 3:2 ratio, so won't play very well on the website.

This is a new version of The Little Red Balloon.

Me and Tom have been talking about doing a version with the poem he wrote for a while now, so hopefully this all works together. I found some lovely music called 'Underneath the lilac sky' by 'ryancohen' which I think fits really well too.

There are a few changes to the original, or rather little clean ups. I've added a new title which I think looks a little more professional, as well as hopefully making it look a little better with some changes to the colour. I also added the hitRECord logo to the end

If anyone can do anything, or wants to with it... please do. I was wondering if anyone could maybe do some graphic titles, or if backgrounds can be made, or just general effects, but I have no idea... haha.

Oh, and hopefully the quality is okay. When I exported the edit it was a massive 700+mb, but i thankfully managed to shrink that down, hopefully without too much loss.

Yes, the sound of the hot-air balloon is indeed quite soft... ...therefore I now recorded the sound of our lawn-mower! :-)

Last summer I filmed a hot-air balloon flying over my home. I have to admit that I don’t really know how a zeppelin sounds, but maybe quite similar to a hot-air balloon? :-)
If so, this sound here could possibly be used for the scenes where one can see the zeppelin from the outside like at 00:09, 00:16 or 06:04.

This was in honor of my aunt. She passed away a few years ago on Mother's Day (so now it's always kind of a sad day). Her favorite color was red and at her funeral they released hundreds of red balloons. I couldn't go to the funeral so I like to think of this as my red balloon to her.

This is my first paper animation i did a few years ago. about : a baby sitting in a park is given a balloon and then flies around to different places.

Just another piece for the moving background collab; I tried panning for dual movements. I thought the shawdows were fun too.

Here is version 1 of a video ad I am working on with Tori.

I just did a shot-by-shot re-creation of the famous "crop duster" scene featuring Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's "North By Northwest" and Tori will be taking a look at this and working in an airplane that starts to dangerously fly in from the distance, ultimately flying just over my head and into the distance (where the text is.)

The next step is collaborating with everyone on the site for ideas and then ANIMATION!

I have several ideas I am going to pitch to Tori, one being the airplane be colored blue with a red circle on the side (sort of like a retro fighter plane from WWI.) Once the plane swoops overhead, it can fly through the "SXSW" text or do some spins with smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Those are just some preliminary ideas, but please Remark away with suggestions!

Once the ad copy is released, revisions may be made to the end titles that appear in the sky. I'd like to know if you guys like the way that looks or if you have alternative ideas.

A brief, surreal lecture on the concept of a free-fall.

My first intent was to narrate LizzieMackie's physical interpretation, but I'm not sure it fits.

Small clip cut from when I was feeding sardines to the seagulls on a fishing boat... I edited to crop myself out. Hopefully the video is long enough to work with...

My first try, just experimenting with putting together random shots. I like the artistic feel when doing this.
Very short though, will probably add more to it in the near future...
