a photographic version of wirrow's "Nameless" drawing. http://hitrecord.org/records/70148 the model looks scarily like the girl in wirrow's drawing. very talented. it was her very first photoshoot and she managed to pull off a fantastic facial expression and cover herself in china white. oh yeah - i cropped it differently - negative space and shit.
face of the week 2011 #09
also a contribution to the herringbone project: http://hitrecord.org/records/53493

this tree is kinda hot. so upright tall and majestic. i wonder if it is a girl-tree or a boy-tree. i should go up to it and ask plainly. but what future would we have? what would our children look like? where would we go to honey moon? is dendrophelia legal?

loneliness is an interesting concept. you may experience the most beautiful thing and be sad because there is nobody there to share it with.
on the other hand you can treasure it most BECAUSE you do not have to share it with anyone. that moment is yours for ever and nobody else can have it.
question: will you make that moment so much more special and intimate when you have no way to share it with somebody else? when does loneliness become solitude or even serenity?

i was looking for a proper handwritten HESHER tag on HR (when i was making this: http://hitrecord.org/records/392178) but could not find anything suitable. got a ballpen. scanned the tag in 600DPI. cleaned the edges. made the background transparent and put it on the kids fist.
now if anyone else wants to tag some bullshit HESHER-style - here you go motherfucker!
ps: the tif file is in a zip file - HR cannot do tif yet.
elspethkoktavi requested a clean version of this image. here you go darling.
shot taken a while back. while listening to "running away" i remembered this shot...
challenge in this record: take a catchy phrase and some weird ass typography and aim for the win.
RECord info:
inspired by this record and george carlin's quote "religion is an organized mass-panic about death"
duration: this has been changing all day long. started on paper with simple shapes. changed into a whole new thing which i will post later and wound down with this. future changes probable.
A little girl who was afraid of the dark looked out of her window and said,
"Oh Moon, how do you sleep without a night light?"
To her astonishment, the moon replied, with a sly wink:
"What do you think the stars are really for?"
- A tiny story by OrigamiArtichoke
RECord info:
original image is actually a mid-day shot but the lighting was very similar to a bright moon-lit night. OrigamiArtichoke's tiny story provided a cute backstory for the win.
"please panic in the confines of your own mind"

another excercise in typography. related to this
well this was a surprise. i open my window and hear a soundcheck for a jazz band. not these pop to jazz cover bands but proper, serious, interesting jazz. i grab my bag. run down to the park and get to the venue just before the show starts. this image is about 2 minutes before the band sat down to play. the band's name is: settembrini. here is a clip of them playing at the venue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB4DVtf5Ksk
here is an example of a fish eye lens effect. my first ever use of this somewhat strange device. strange since it "throws away" 3/4 of all the information on the sensor because the image that is hitting it is only 1/4 in size. very weird to look through the viewfinder and see this little semisphere with all the commotion in the middle.
