one of my favorite parts of the evening, when stephanie delivers 2 great renditions of the king midas tiny story (and joe deals with an impolite heckler.)

i was recently in ohio during lightning bug season, and took a lot of video of them. metaphorest mentioned to me that she'd never seen any, so i put this together for her. not nearly as magical as the real thing, but just a little intro!

many thanks to pasiv for his version of megan carnes' "sunday evening". it really pulled it all together for me, emotionally and otherwise.

i'm so, so glad to see this song resurrected, cuz i truly love it, it gets me every time.

i started working on this late last september, shooting the pics and trying desperately to learn my way around final cut pro, thinking i could have something done by that halloween. not only was i way too ambitious, but then dan left us...and it was so not the moment for this.

the truth is, i didn't think i could/would ever finish it.. but with some nudges from sarah (who knew what i'd been up to last year) i dove back in, and here is the result. i hope it does justice to the song.

thanks again to lizzie and sarah for being the beautiful, inspiring creatures you are. and to everyone else whose resources i will now try to track down! with much love. ♥

my boss almost stepped on this guy's ahead, right off the back porch at work. he was too cold to move very much, and i spent about 20 minutes with him, snapping photos and video. got lots more if needed! along with nice snake-tongue action. ;-)

we got rained on heading thru marin co. yesterday. this is raw footage from our drive thru the waldo "rainbow" tunnel to the regency.

over the golden gate bridge in the fog, on the way to ther Regency show in SF. this is raw footage, speeded up 2x b/c it takes almost 3 minutes to get across!

ok, a little indulgence: zengineer playing with the via bird while sitting in the audience of the regency theater, waiting for the show to start. :-)

i took the sound out due to ambient (me) noise, but here's our resident insectoid alien in motion. i like the way he decides to nonchalantly groom himself after sizing me up. think how weird i am from his perspective!

wherein i pretend i'm opening the package for the first time, but i'm not b/c i kept dropping shit, had to endlessly re-adjust the camera &etc. der!

the tinkly sounds are the windchimes outside the window, sped up along with me. :-)
