This is the video about my life..........and what is yours?:)))
Ok, so last year my friend, my brother and I made a short film for my film class. It was based upon a poem by Jerzy Skolimowski (a Polish film director, recently best known for "Essential Killing") ; he did some poetry many years ago - not really my favourite but there's this one poem I really, really liked a lot. I don't wanna tell you what it's about, not to impose any ideas on you (nevertheless, if you're interested in the story, let me know and I'll try to explain it).
Anyway, I can't put the whole thing in here but I chose three themes/shots that I'm allowed to use, so to speak, and that might be useful for some other RECords.
Now, it's not a raw footage, I left most of the editing from the original cut (and added the lovely gentle tune by megancarnes:)). Also, it was originally shot in color, but while editing we decided to turn it into black&white for a better effect. Should any of you prefer the full-color version, please, let me know.
Soo... I guess that's it. Hope you'll find it useful :)
I was down at the shore trying to get some snowy beach pictures when I noticed these guys sitting around nearby. I took a few pictures, but then I got back into the car (because fingerless gloves + nose-biting cold = numb fingers).
There was a nice little family in the car beside mine watching with interest and eating cookies. They got out and started throwing little bits into the parking lot. The seagulls started doing this hilariously anxious little hover-dance, but unfortunately for me, I was pretty much out of camera space, so the video didn't really capture as much of it as I would have liked. The hovering made it look like they were flying in a strong wind that wouldn't let them move forward, and they kept moving slightly up and down in one big flock.
Eventually they flew away and I cheerfully thanked the family (who had also been taking pictures). I'm not sure if they spoke English or not (they were speaking another language to each other the entire time) but even if they did (and this wasn't a case of shared experiences crossing a language barrier) they were at the least, complete strangers to me and we had this interesting experience that brought us together for a few minutes. Nature is awesome. <3
ferry ride home from victoria to the mainland. short and sweet.
Monkey our three year old Parrotlet decided to cooperate and we made this for you.
Sorry about the bad sound and video but it had to be done before he got distracted with something shiny or edible.
Perhaps a tiny story inspiration? Or just something to make your day brighter!
I taught him to say "Spaceship" and laser noises.
I don't know why they have birds at the aquarium but I absolutely love them!
There use to be a time where they would fly down and land on your shoulder and everything, but I think all those screaming kids have scared them so they stay up high :[
Fota Wildlife Park, County Cork. ( No fish, fowl or fauna were harmed in the making> ) <3
My son was with me, so you will hear us 'conversing' but that can always be muted :)
I shot this while on the pier at the beach. It's in my Re Rec video for 6/19 but I think this could be used for a tiny story. Also it's just good to have stock footage of birds. Enjoy.
Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA. Lake Merritt is an estuary tied in with the San Francisco Bay. Here, the lake level was pretty low, and these ducks are in a shallow part of the lake, apparently where there's lots to eat down in the sand! I'm glad dining for me doesn't involve plunging head-first into water and flailing my feet. I suppose it could, but I would need to learn a whole lot of new skills.
Because this is an urban lake, the audio has traffic & other sounds.
Lake Merritt, Oakland CA.
It's an urban lake. If you use this you'll have to replace the audio.
Here's a snowy egret looking along the side of the lake for some dinner. (If I've misidentified this bird, please let me know!)

Yep, even the birds litter in the city. Here's a ring-billed gull (a land gull, not a sea gull) dropping the packaging its dinner came in.

Umm. I don't know. I offer you, HitRECord, a video of a baby bird with its head on backwards. A tiny story all its own.
(Before anyone asks: It lived, it got better, it went free.)
haha! that subtitle is a typo, but it actually fits, so ima keep it. hi hitRECorders! just something i shot over the weekend at my friend's house. i'm obsessed with birds lately, so the feeder allowed some close views. music is actually called "sanctuary" by MJune.
